Job search site Yes123 has found that many workers have gone years without a raise, and that satisfaction with earnings is at its lowest in more than a decade.

00:10through the downturn of the past few years has been a struggle.
00:13In fact, the past few years have been a very difficult time for us.
00:17We haven't been able to rest for more than four years because of the pandemic.
00:21We have always been on a tight schedule, and recently there have been a lot of wars.
00:29And a new survey by job search website Yes123 suggests this is a pretty typical story in
00:35workplaces across Taiwan.
00:37While government figures put overall wage growth at over 4% last year, beating out the
00:42inflation rate, many workers are seeing their earnings stagnate.
00:47The survey found over 60% of workers haven't had a raise in three years, and 12% have gone
00:52a whole decade without a salary adjustment.
00:56Despite how they feel about their earnings, workers gave a resoundingly negative response.
01:00Over 92% said they were unhappy with how much they make and the benefits they receive.
01:06The job bank says certain types of work are more susceptible to wage stagnation, for instance
01:10back office and low-skilled customer service jobs.
01:14But workers' age can be a factor, too.
01:16If you've been in the workplace for a long time and you're a middle-to-high-ranking worker,
01:22you may not have been able to get a raise for more than 10 years.
01:31Some job market observers say that even if overall wage growth is outpacing inflation,
01:36rising costs in some of the most basic areas of life may make it harder for workers to
01:40make ends meet.
