A British travel photographer has revealed the ultimate way to fly—on an $85,000 cargo plane ticket to Antarctica.
Alex Stead, 29, showcased the perks of flying in an Ilyushin Il-76 transporter, including banquet-style meals, spacious seating, and large viewing windows.
The flight, supporting research missions, departed from Cape Town and landed at Novo before continuing to the South Pole.
Stead, on a seven-day expedition to document emperor penguins, described the journey as offering "more space, better food, and superior views" compared to commercial flights.
