00:00It will take another year for the film to be screened.
00:05I have heard that Rajkumar Rao will play the role.
00:12I don't know about you, but I have heard that he will play the role.
00:24It will take another year for the film to be screened.
00:31Who do you want as Donna Ganguly?
00:35She is a difficult character.
00:38There are many options.
00:41I am sure she will come to a conclusion.
00:46How do you feel being Sourav Ganguly?
00:50How do I feel being Sourav Ganguly?
00:54Sometimes good, sometimes very good.
00:58Sometimes under a lot of pressure.
01:02Sometimes criticized for the right and wrong reasons.
01:10Too many responsibilities.
01:13So I have mixed feelings being what I am.
01:18But at the end of the day, I am happy to be in this position.
01:22Because I feel I get loved, I get looked after.
01:26I get respected.
01:29And that is what you want to do in a career.
01:31When I first picked up a cricket bat, I was like them.
01:36The students here, studying in college.
01:39Doing activities of a student in college, trying to play cricket.
01:43And around the age of 20-21, nobody in this room knows where they will finish.
01:50And I was the same at the age of 20-21.
01:52I did not know where life would go.
01:55Whether I would become an athlete or whether I would become a doctor, businessman, engineer.
02:00I did not know where life would go.
02:02But then I kept dealing with things in life.
02:07I loved playing cricket, I loved playing sport.
02:10I took up to playing sport not knowing what it will lead to.
02:14Because playing for India was the hardest thing in the world those days.
02:18And very few from Bengal had played for India at that time.
02:23And then to finish where I did and to be in a position where I am.
02:31I consider myself extremely fortunate.
02:34I consider the Almighty to be very very kind on me.
02:38And having a lot of affection and love for me to achieve what I have achieved over a long period of time.
02:44And I must say I am extremely proud of what I am and what I have done over the last 20-25 years.
02:52And what is even more happier for me is that I have been able to make myself a very responsible citizen of not only Bengal but the country.
03:03So I think that is very important.
03:05Thank you. Thank you so much.
03:08My question is from the answer.
03:13When you first got up and started playing and when you chose the profession.
03:19Was it a gradual process or at one point you just chose to be a cricketer by profession?
03:24No, no. Everything in life is a gradual process.
03:27I am presuming there are engineers here, there are doctors here, there are students from the arts and various other aspects of the university.
03:35There are boys and girls. So everything in life is a process.
03:41As I said when I picked up the cricket bat at the age of 15, I just picked up because I loved the sport.
03:48I wanted to play cricket.
03:50It's very similar to a lot of young boys and girls here because some may be wanting to be a doctor because somebody in the family is a doctor.
03:59Some may be wanting to be a doctor because he or she might like the profession of a doctor.
04:03So it was the same with me.
04:05When I first picked up a cricket bat I wanted to play not knowing where I would go.
04:10Nobody in life knows where someone will go.
04:13You just have to make an effort.
04:15You have to keep doing things day in day out to get where you are.
04:20Today Professor Nath is the Vice Chancellor of this esteemed university.
04:27He also has started from the absolute basic level.
04:32From the base level and I presume as a teacher.
04:36He started as a teacher.
04:38I started as an under 15 player.
04:40I started as a first class player.
04:42Ranji Trophy, then I played the Lib Trophy and then the next step and then the next step and then ultimately to play for India.
04:48Even when you play for India that's not the end of all because you have to keep working and keep performing and going through things day in day out.
04:56And many of the students here will one day become doctors, engineers, politicians, successful people of the society.
05:04They must understand that success is a daily process.
05:08Success is not just a stop and start thing that you wake up one day, you become successful and then close the door the next day.
