00:00Working with Cappy is never a dull moment. Tanner has a passion for riding dirt bikes,
00:06four wheelers. That's super cool. You can build us something to haul everything all
00:11at once. Where we can camp and store bikes, gear, four wheelers. School bus. What?
00:16What's up buttercup? Please pay attention to all the school bus rules.
00:25What is your plan with this? This is your new adventure bus. Nice. But I think we just
00:34surprised Madison. That's great. Yes. No stop with us now. Oh my gosh. My given name is Jared
00:46Capp. But everyone calls me Cappy. This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever
00:52done. I've been a professional builder for over 15 years. But I've recently teamed up with my
00:59daughter Alex. Whoa, it looks so good in here. We specialize in transforming unconventional
01:05objects. Awake now. What if we did use a plane? Wait, really? All right, Alex, she's all yours.
01:12Into one of a kind creations. This is no she shed. This has turned into a she palace. And we
01:21get to do it for our favorite people. Thank you. I love you. That is so beautiful. Oh my gosh. But
01:29the best part is we get to do it together. Waking up every day in South Dakota is a blessing. I love
01:50my little hometown. It's peaceful and quiet. But some days I need to stop building and just cut
01:58loose. You're a beast. That's lots of fun. That's super cool. My riding buddy today is also one of
02:26my favorite guys to work with. Tanner's my go to long hauler. He wants me to go pick up an airplane or
02:33part of an airplane or something like that. Working with Cappy is always interesting. It's never a dull
02:38moment. Whether it's a joke or just his goofy personality. He's just Cappy. That's the best way to
02:46describe him. He's just his own thing. Tanner has a passion for riding. Actually, a couple years ago, I
02:52sold him a little dirt bike that would be his girlfriend Madison's first motorcycle. I've known Madison for
02:59seven years. We are engaged. We just haven't set a date. We haven't had time to get married. A couple weeks
03:05ago, you told me you take the camper with you and your truck. And then you said Maddie sometimes takes the
03:10bikes in her truck. Yep. So you don't get to actually drive together. It depends on where we're going and how
03:17far we're going. If it's more than four hours, we put one on the back of the camper and one or two inside the
03:23camper. In the living room. I take the handlebars off and push it through the door. What do you strap them to?
03:34We've got a table on the one side I can pull down to. And then there's an anchor point on the bottom of the fridge
03:40where the fridge is mounted that I can tie one bike to. Your fiancee is a saint, dude. She puts up with a lot. Maybe one of
03:50these days you could you could build us something to haul everything all at once. Yeah, maybe. And all your free time you
03:56have. Maybe we could. All right, cowboy. I'll let you get back to it. Alex is here to pick me up. Thanks, brother.
04:03Yeah, of course. I'll see you next time. All right. Thanks. Hey, kiddo. Hello. How's it going? Good. How is your mandate with
04:13Tanner? Awesome. Yeah. It's been a minute since I was on a dirt bike. Mom would not have liked it. Tanner was just explaining the
04:20logistical nightmare he and Madison face when they head out on their adventures. When they go somewhere, Tanner pulls the
04:27camper. Madison puts the dirt bikes in the back of her truck. They don't actually get to road trip together. Oh, together. OK. I
04:35don't know if you know this. They're getting married. Did I tell you this? No. They're getting married. Well, congratulations. Yeah,
04:40super fun. It occurred to me that we could build the perfect early wedding present for them. Yeah. I got an idea. OK. Hit me.
04:48School bus. What? OK. No, no. Check it out. What if we chopped it in half and turn the back half into a trailer deck and the front half
04:59into an RV? That's not a bad idea. Used buses are super affordable. Check it out. And we got like wheels or right here, you know,
05:09it's going to be the bus and chop it off on the back. We could do like ramps so they could ride the bikes up and park on the ramps. What about
05:20the deck? Like when the toys aren't on it? Is there a way that we can make it into like a hangout space? That'd be cool. What were Madison's
05:30wants and needs here? So super fun. Madison wasn't there. Oh, Madison doesn't know anything about this. But we'll have to get Tanner
05:38involved because we're going to need his help on this one. But I think we just surprised Madison. That's great. Maybe we can rig this up to be like
05:44their honeymoon bus. Oh, cute. Yeah, this is really important to me. Like Tanner is an absolute sweetheart and he loves Madison more than life.
05:52Being able to give Tanner and Madison something that they can use that I know they'll have adventures in that I know they'll appreciate good
06:00people. The only thing I'm thinking about is the inside. Right. That would be really cool is to have you put all your magic on the
06:07inside and make it just phenomenal. Like couldn't tell it was a bus if you didn't know. Like super fluffy. Beautiful. Beautiful and relaxing.
06:18Okay. Yeah. All right, kid. I like it. The plan is to convert a full size school bus into a luxury RV that can also haul all of Madison and
06:27Tanner's motorized toys. We'll cut out the middle of the body and slide the back end forward while leaving the chassis intact. Then on the
06:37back of the bus, we'll create a space for transporting all of their bikes and ATVs that also transforms into a comfortable outdoor
06:45lounge. Alex will focus on the interior, customizing it with a comfy queen sized bed, plenty of space for storage and an upscale dining
06:55area. The ultimate glamping getaway for the bride and groom to be.
06:59Where would we get said bus? I'd like to go talk to Travis at the bus barn, your old bus driver. I'm hoping he's got one that'll work for what we're
07:11doing. Gotcha. He's got to have something. Oh, yeah. He'll sell us. But I think this should be super fun. I love it. Thank you for the ride, my
07:18dear. I will catch up with you in a little bit. Okay. Okay. Bye. Bye.
07:29Need a bus? In Spearfish, this place provides buses for schools, tours, events, you name it. And that means they're constantly putting new buses on the
07:46road and selling off the used ones. That's exactly what I need. Hey, brother. Cappy. How are you, brother? Since the owner, Travis, was Sprout's
07:57fourth grade bus driver, well, I feel like we've gotten in. How many vehicles do you have at one time in service? In service is probably about 40. Thanks for
08:06entertaining this plane with me. We have this amazing couple, love adventure. What we wanted to do for them was to take the full size school bus, chop 10 feet out
08:18of the middle, and then slide the tail up. So we're essentially putting a short bus on a full size bus chassis. So I can turn it into a toy hauler. Okay, I've never cut a
08:27bus in half. They're built. Are you up for that challenge? Because it's, I can tell you a fire department broke some tools doing this. Now, all I want to know is
08:39what tools you broke. Okay. How long is one of these? 35 to 38 feet. My thought here is to cut from here, just forward of the axle out, probably to here. And then
08:54they'll have a place to load up the dirt bikes and hang out with the barbecue grill and roll up at the lake and live their best life. This I want to see. This is
09:02going to be neat. This one's available. I'll take this one. Let's get you in it and get you out of here with it. I like it. It's been a minute since I drove a school
09:11bus. A minute? Yeah, just a minute. Retired buses like this are often sold at a discount, which is good because we're going to slice this thing up anyway. This is
09:22going to be fun.
09:23What's up, buttercup?
09:46You got this without me? I'm offended, Cap. Went up and saw Travis, your old bus driver. Wait, I legit think this is the bus I used to take when I was younger. No way. Yeah, it was the fish bus. That is awesome. That's crazy.
10:10Want to see the inside? Yeah. Check it out. We're going to get all these seats out. Okay. We're going to clean up all the tin up there. We'll be able to run some wiring and stuff in there. I'm excited, but I have school in like 15 minutes. All right, get your bag. We're out of here.
10:26Feels real weird. The weird part is that it smells the exact same as it did. Okay, please pay attention to all the school bus rules. Always listen to the bus driver. That's the first rule. That's all you need to know. You want to drive? No, thank you.
10:56I dropped off Sprout and now I'm taking this bus to Rodney's shop. He's on a remote job out of town and letting me use his space to transform this old school bus into a toy hauling RV. I'm a little more nervous after talking to Travis. They actually damaged and broke equipment trying to get into a school bus. You never really think about it when you see a bus driving down the road, but they're really, really sturdy. This one might trip us up a little bit, but we'll get it done.
11:26Step one is clearing the deck with something like 24 seats, each one fastened down by 20 bolts. There's almost 500 bolts to pull all of these seats out.
11:56And most of them are rusted in and so sometimes you have to use a grinder, sometimes use a drill.
12:12It's a good thing I have help on the way.
12:18What do you got going on with this thing?
12:21Hi, buddy.
12:23What is your plan with this?
12:24This is your new adventure bus.
12:26You're kidding. That is awesome.
12:31We're going to make you a toy hauler adventure bus, so then you don't have to try to drag the trailer and the camper.
12:36Yep.
12:37And Matty brings the bike, so you guys have to have two trucks every time you guys go play.
12:41Yep.
12:42So now you don't have to have that.
12:44That sounds fantastic. That's awesome.
12:46What do you think?
12:47That's crazy.
12:49I can tell you're in shock, but I need your help for the first part.
12:52Okay.
12:53You don't get to help me for the second part, because there needs to be a surprise for you too.
12:56I need Tanner's sweat equity for this one, but it's still going to be a full-on surprise for his fiance, Madison.
13:02I got a buddy, Charles, that's coming to help us as well this morning.
13:05Nice.
13:06Yeah, let me get this party started.
13:07Sounds good.
13:09My buddy, Charles, he's a mechanic. He used to drive school buses. He used to work on school buses.
13:14He is the perfect ringer to bring in to chop this thing in half and make Tanner and Madison an adventure bus.
13:25What's up, buddy?
13:26What do you got going on in here?
13:28Lots of bolts.
13:29Yeah.
13:30A couple of mood swings, a cutting torch. I think everything will be all right.
13:34Well, I figure we'll just get seats pulled for a clean slate.
13:37Great idea.
13:38I'd like to keep the two nicest seats.
13:41Okay.
13:42You got it.
13:45This is pretty exciting. This will be fun.
13:47And it's cool to actually work on something that's, for me, pretty excited about it.
13:55It's been a minute since you worked on buses, yeah?
13:57Yeah.
13:58The next time you call me, it's definitely going to voicemail.
14:06All right, I'm loose.
14:07Sweet.
14:11This is the first time I've got to work side-by-side with Cappy. I think it's going to be a blast.
14:32Charles and Tanner have been absolute rock stars getting this bus cleared out.
14:36They made such fast work yesterday, popped all the windows out, the seats were out, grinders are flying.
14:42They are moving.
14:48This is ready to come out.
14:50Nice.
14:57Dude, this is looking awesome.
14:59One of the things you suggested, Charles, I like is let's cut that skirt off because I know the next thing is we've got to get underneath.
15:05Sounds like a plan.
15:06Thanks, guys.
15:08One of the tricks with shortening this bus is that you have to shorten the electrical wires.
15:14There's coolant lines and all the wires have to be marked so we know which lights they go to.
15:19There's backup sensors. There's all kinds of different things.
15:21It's not just as simple as chopping metal and re-welding it together.
15:29We're going to back the bus up in front of Rodney's shop so we can use the concrete to lay on to finish cutting.
15:34We're going to have the center section out of this thing real soon.
15:38Alright, what do you think, road warrior?
15:40This thing is awesome.
15:43Alright, well I'll grab the plasma cutter and we'll get her plugged in.
15:45Do what kind of mess we can make.
15:46Let's make a mess, dude.
15:47Let's do it.
15:53There's a cross member there.
15:59I can feel her popping and creaking.
16:02I love the smell of plasma in the morning.
16:09Peek-a-boo.
16:11One square foot down.
16:13And you made it look so easy, Cap.
16:16This is a lot of metal work.
16:18Travis warned us.
16:21It's a big day for our big adventure bus.
16:24Today is the day we get small.
16:26Wow.
16:27Check this out, dude.
16:29I called in David, Ruby, and Dustin to show this bus who's boss.
16:34What in the world?
16:35What's up, boys?
16:36Hey, gentlemen.
16:37What have you decided we're doing today?
16:40We're cutting out this entire center section.
16:42So from here, we're going to cut out this entire center section.
16:45What have you decided we're doing today?
16:47We're cutting out this entire center section.
16:49So from here, up to the front of that cut.
16:53And then we're going to pick this center section up completely.
16:56Scrap it.
16:57What?
16:58And then slide the back of the bus up to meet the front.
17:00We're going to detach the back first.
17:02The tail section, we have to be really careful because we still need it.
17:06Okay.
17:07Oh, my.
17:08Let's separate a bus.
17:09Raise the roof.
17:10Let's raise it.
17:11I love it.
17:16Beautiful.
17:18Travis said this was hard to get into.
17:23Not so much.
17:26There she went.
17:31We're going to lift the back of the bus up with the telehandler.
17:34It's a magic school bus, bro.
17:37Perfect.
17:38Perfect.
17:39We got a bus without a caboose.
17:42Huh?
17:43Where's them saw horses?
17:45They're already set up.
17:46Yep.
17:47Okay.
17:48Yep.
17:54With the rear section set aside, there's still one more cut to make.
18:06Through the window and back up top.
18:12Got it strapped up.
18:13I've had a snack.
18:15Ready to go.
18:17All right.
18:18Thumbs up.
18:22There we go.
18:27You going?
18:28No.
18:29We're just going to pull out from under it.
18:42Awesome.
18:44While the boys and I are putting the bus back together,
18:47Sprout's hatching her plan to dress it all up.
18:51Right now, I'm on the way to a sign shop in town.
18:54I wanted to add a decal on the side of our short bus.
18:57I wanted to add a small touch to acknowledge the adventurous side of Tanner,
19:02but also to make sure it's nice and elegant for Madison.
19:07Hello.
19:08Hello.
19:09We found this school bus, but we don't want it to look like a school bus.
19:12Okay.
19:13So we settled on this idea where it was just a mountain landscape,
19:18and it felt like it fit their story.
19:20Is this something that we could do?
19:22Absolutely.
19:23I love that design that you've got.
19:24Yeah.
19:25Awesome.
19:26Definitely doable.
19:27It'll take a couple days to print,
19:28and let it sit for about 24 hours,
19:30and we laminate it, and then we'll be ready to install.
19:32Well, sounds great.
19:33Should I email this?
19:34Email's perfect.
19:35Okay.
19:36I will see you in a few days.
19:37Absolutely.
19:47I sent David to my short grass boneyard.
19:49He's been building the table for the dining area,
19:52but didn't have a leg to stand it on.
19:55So this is Cappy's boneyard.
20:00Wow.
20:01Look at this.
20:03Here's what I need.
20:05My table leg.
20:07This one won't do.
20:09This one's way better.
20:10We can make this work.
20:11Cappy, your boneyard comes through one more time.
20:15Yeah.
20:19I wanted to create a table that kind of reflected modern country,
20:23but had a little class to it.
20:25There's nothing classier than dovetails.
20:29A dovetail is a spline that has a wider outside edge
20:35and a thinner inside edge.
20:36It acts as a clamp.
20:38Milled it in my shop, and now I'm going to see how it fits.
20:41Slide this in a little bit snug.
20:44Let's check another one.
20:47Oh, that one slides nice.
20:49So by the time I add glue and the dovetails,
20:52that is a tight joint and a solid table.
20:55Oh, that's going to be nice.
21:06We're getting ready to put the tail end of this bus back on the frame
21:12to build a deck so Tanner and Madison
21:15can haul all their toys with them
21:17without literally putting motorcycles
21:19in the living room of their camper.
21:23All right.
21:24We're just building this whole thing as we fly it.
21:27None of us have ever done this before.
21:29Do you like it?
21:31I love it.
21:33We're moving!
21:37Got to go that way just a little.
21:41Straight.
21:44Got a foot.
21:46Okay, let's drop it.
21:49I'm completely clear.
21:52I'm clear.
21:53I'm good. All's good here.
21:55He's on!
21:58My blood pressure likes it better when Ruby drives.
22:01Mine does too.
22:03We've got the main lift done, which is really exciting.
22:06Now it's actually contacting the frame.
22:08The next step is to slide the entire thing forward
22:11and then re-rivet the bus back to close to factory.
22:15Wish us luck.
22:28This morning I'm on my way to Rodney's shop
22:31where we're putting the bus back together.
22:34When we came up with this idea originally,
22:37I wasn't completely sure it was going to work,
22:40but now we literally have to just slide this thing together.
22:43It's going to be a fun morning.
22:45I'm super excited.
22:47Let's go put a bus together.
22:49It's going to be fun.
22:51It's going to be fun.
22:53It's going to be fun.
22:55I'm super excited.
22:57Let's go put a bus together.
23:03Charles brought a hydraulic ram,
23:06and that's how we're going to mechanically push
23:09this section forward.
23:11Ruby and Dustin are going to be on the roof
23:14with a combination of screwdrivers and putty knives
23:17and metal shims because the back of the bus
23:20has to slide under the front of the bus,
23:23and that's how we're going to pull the bus back together.
23:26Hey, Cappy, are we ready to go?
23:28Yes, sir, ready, ready.
23:30Clear on top? Let's do it.
23:32Moving. Yep.
23:34Keep coming. Yeah.
23:36Oh, look at that.
23:40A little more.
23:42Moving forward. Yep.
23:44Come on, baby.
23:46Just a little bit more. Okay.
23:48Oh, yeah, right there.
23:50We got everything married back up.
23:52Super stoked with the work the boys did on it.
23:55Now we got to rivet it all together
23:57and build the deck on the back.
24:02The bus is back in one piece,
24:04but I have some issues with it.
24:06It's kind of filthy.
24:08There's tape, there's dust, whatever that is.
24:13It's been used and abused for decades.
24:18And that's why we're calling them the Big Guns.
24:23My buddy Carl is the best detailer in Spearfish.
24:26His challenge is to make the adventure bus shine.
24:31With his expertise, Carl will spray, vacuum, and wipe
24:3525 years of wear and tear off this thing,
24:38all for Madison and Tan.
24:44Oh, speak of the devil.
24:46What's up, daddy-o?
24:48How's it going?
24:50Thanks for wanting to jump in.
24:52Yeah, of course.
24:54I know you're stoked about this.
24:56Oh, yeah.
24:58So she knows nothing about this.
25:00No, she's going to be super excited.
25:02She's probably speechless.
25:04I'm excited to see her reaction.
25:06She just wants the bikes out of the living room.
25:08She's going to be most excited about that.
25:10Cool, yeah, well, let's build the frame.
25:12Let's do it.
25:14We're going to break out the torch
25:16and start cutting notches
25:18so they fit over the frame hardware.
25:36Like a glove.
25:38Brother, you guys decide on a date yet?
25:40No.
25:42Not yet.
25:44I still can't believe she actually said yes to you.
25:46You and me both.
25:56That remote project is finished.
25:58So glad to be back.
26:00Letting Cappy use the shop
26:02was definitely a no-brainer
26:04because I know that he would do the same for me.
26:06Good boy.
26:08But now he's putting me to work.
26:12When Cappy asked you to park the bus
26:14and there's no seat,
26:16so it looks like...
26:18Yeah.
26:20Oh, yeah.
26:22Much better.
26:28Yeah, Cappy called
26:30and said we got some deck plates to cut.
26:32Oh, dear.
26:34I lost it.
26:36There's no stopping us now.
26:38Now we're ready to put the deck on.
26:40The reason we decided to go with steel
26:42was a couple reasons.
26:44It is forever.
26:46It's got a little bit of texture on top of it
26:48with that diamond pattern
26:50to make it easy to park all the machines
26:52but also make a nice deck that they can hang out on,
26:54hose off, sweep off, anything like that.
26:58Gosh.
27:02Right now we're laying out our pieces,
27:04cutting out our wheel wells.
27:06Oh, that's...
27:08That's not bad.
27:12Awesome.
27:14Yeah.
27:16Dude, this looks good.
27:18The diamond plate was the way to go.
27:20I'm gonna get this set with you, this first one,
27:22and we'll just duplicate it on the other side.
27:24Okay.
27:26Three more pieces in there.
27:28That'll work.
27:30We're done.
27:32Here we go.
27:34Look at that.
27:36Look at that.
27:50All the seats are back at Granny Flats.
27:52Sprout's in charge of picking out the ones
27:54to be saved that will find a new home
27:56back in the Adventure Bus.
27:58Today I'm trying
28:00to salvage what's left of these
28:02bus seats to incorporate them
28:04in our build right now.
28:08For the seats,
28:10I want to soften everything up
28:12by reupholstering them.
28:14I was just down at the bus, and I love it.
28:16It looks great, but it's a little
28:18too masculine. It's a bit,
28:20hey, dude, hey, bro.
28:22So I want to make sure that the bus feels like
28:24it's for Madison.
28:26I'll get these notes over to the
28:28upholstery place, and we should be solid.
28:32I'm really excited about it.
28:34It should be really cool.
28:52We're finishing up the deck work today,
28:54and Tanner is back bright and early.
28:56What do you think?
28:58Heater parts.
29:00Perfect.
29:02Dude, how sharp is this?
29:04Oh, yeah.
29:06How many dirt bikes do you think you can fit on this?
29:08Probably get pretty close to 12.
29:10Coolers, barbecue grills?
29:12I'll put my whole shop in here.
29:14I'm going to go find some steel.
29:16Tanner is such a typical dude.
29:18He has not asked me one question about the inside,
29:20but he's asked me 110 questions
29:22about this. He'd sleep under the bus.
29:24Yeah, he doesn't care, but
29:26we'll get some romance out of him kicking or screaming.
29:28Either way.
29:30Alright.
29:32If you could make Madison one thing
29:34in this bus,
29:36what would that be?
29:38A ladder for blankets.
29:40What?
29:42Literally a ladder made out of wood or something.
29:44Oh, that you, like, hang
29:46the blankets on the rungs.
29:48We have blankets everywhere.
29:50She doesn't have enough. Well, she has enough.
29:52You can make a blanket ladder.
29:58Sprout
30:00had the smart idea of adding carpet
30:02to make the inside of the bus more elegant for Madison.
30:04Unfortunately,
30:06Sprout has a test today,
30:08so it looks like I'm taking my boy
30:10Tanner's shop on.
30:12So I was talking to Sprout on the way over.
30:14She said to keep it in neutrals.
30:16After you, sir. Oh, thank you.
30:18I have no idea
30:20what I'm looking at, so I'm making you go with me
30:22because that way, if I screw it up, I'm only
30:2450% at fault, and you're the other 50%.
30:26Okay. Holy
30:28camoly. Oof.
30:30They all look the same to me.
30:32I don't know. I can see patterns.
30:34I mean, I can see that they're all
30:36different, but it's like
30:38light sand, sand,
30:40lighter sand,
30:42dirty sand, mocha
30:44sand, winter sand,
30:46cracked wheat,
30:48gray, harvest home,
30:50light gray, fawn,
30:52really light gray.
30:54This one says concrete.
30:56I like concrete.
30:58Concrete's good.
31:00My brain always goes to functionality, right?
31:02Because you're going to be dirty and whatever,
31:04just inevitably. All right, I think we just
31:06eeny, meeny, miny, moe this. Okay.
31:08And we just take what wrath comes.
31:10All right, go for it. All right.
31:12Duck, duck,
31:14duck,
31:16and...
31:18stop!
31:20All right, we got cloud white.
31:22This is it. Let's do it.
31:24If Sprout gets mad at something, tell him you picked it up.
31:26Yeah, yeah. Technically, you did pick it up.
31:28I technically did.
31:30laughs
31:42My students,
31:44pay attention. Do not
31:46stick your head out the windows.
31:56Our bus has been chopped up, reassembled,
31:58and cleaned out.
32:00Now I'm leaving it to the pros
32:02to get our wrap applied on the outside.
32:06So we've got the bus back on the road
32:08to get all of this
32:10wrapped so this whole thing
32:12gets a complete new
32:14facelift for it, so I'm really excited about that.
32:18The finish line is almost
32:20in sight, and you know what?
32:22I think this crazy adventure bus idea
32:24just might work.
32:28While our bus is getting a new skin,
32:30David is back at Granny Flats
32:32building the thing that Tanner said
32:34is a must for Madison,
32:36a blanket ladder.
32:38The blanket ladder is exactly what it
32:40sounds like. It's a tall series of
32:42wooden rungs where you can keep all your fuzzy
32:44things nice and organized.
32:46I found this
32:48redwood,
32:50so we cleaned it up,
32:52drilled the holes, and we're just going to
32:54glue this up and let it set.
33:02Wow.
33:04That's nice.
33:10As
33:12the bus gets gussied up on the outside,
33:14the guys pop by the sign shop
33:16to work on the inside. Laying down
33:18that beautiful carpet that Tanner and I
33:20so lovingly picked out.
33:22So thinking about how
33:24hard everyone has worked on this
33:26project, Dustin and Ruby
33:28and David and Rodney and Tanner,
33:30every one of those guys would
33:32give the shirt off their back if you needed
33:34it. Tanner is sort of this
33:36boisterous, mullet-having
33:38guy, but he's come out to
33:40help us with the bus, to help
33:42surprise Madison. He wants
33:44to help people. What I like about this bus
33:46project is, this is an opportunity
33:48for Sprout and I to give something
33:50back to him.
33:52To do something special for him, something meaningful
33:54for him.
33:58The decal work is all wrapped up
34:00and the bus is on its way back to Rodney's.
34:02That means it's crunch time,
34:04baby. The final stretch.
34:06And to get this
34:08done, we're swarming the build with
34:10all hands on deck.
34:16I think that's pretty much what we're looking for.
34:24It's so crazy what they can do
34:26with... That's a sticker, y'all.
34:28We're getting all
34:30the deck welded down completely.
34:32I've got Rodney underneath, Ren's on
34:34the back, spray painting all
34:36around the lights. I see
34:38David's head inside working on the table.
34:42God, I got a good crew.
34:48What's up, Cap? What's up, bro?
34:50Dude, this looks so good!
34:52So the seat is there, and the table
34:54and the second seat here.
34:56Gotcha. And then that ladder is gonna go
34:58right here behind that seat. Awesome.
35:00It's gonna hang right up there. Perfect.
35:04Ruby and David have more items coming
35:06from Sprout's interior design.
35:08Dustin's taking delivery of the Adventure
35:10bus' bed frame and storage
35:12cabinets. Well, I appreciate you
35:14guys. Alright, thanks. Thank you.
35:18I've gotta say, I live for
35:20days like these. Everyone at their best,
35:22pitching in, helping each other.
35:24Teamwork really does make
35:26the dream work.
35:34And in the middle of all
35:36this glorious chaos, the reupholstered
35:38seats from the original bus arrived,
35:40ready to be installed.
35:42What do you think?
35:44Man, these are so pretty. Can you
35:46imagine, for 30 years, little kids sat
35:48on these seats, chewing bubble gum,
35:50getting reupholstered, and now they're
35:52gonna be the seats to a dining
35:54table. I'd like it there.
35:56Okay.
35:58Oh, yeah.
36:01Oh, yeah.
36:05Oh, yeah.
36:07I love it. Nice.
36:17Now that all of our seats are in place,
36:19David is free to add his contribution
36:21to this giant wedding gift.
36:27Sprout wanted to make sure that
36:29the inside of the bus is cozy and elegant
36:31to counter the rugged, off-road
36:33vibe on the outside. I think
36:35David knocked it out of the park with this
36:37beautiful, warm table.
36:39Here we go.
36:41It's good.
36:43And with that done,
36:45the team can add final touches to the
36:47inside, including a bed
36:49and plenty of storage space.
36:51Tomorrow morning, it's time to show
36:53the happy couple their new adventure
36:55bus.
36:59Today is the day
37:01we deliver Tanner and Madison their
37:03one-of-a-kind adventure bus.
37:05But before
37:07Sprout and I hand it off to the bride and groom
37:09to be, I figure we could have a little fun
37:11driving it over to their place.
37:13Well, this looks a lot different than it did,
37:15kiddo. Yeah. Nice job. Sure does.
37:17I like being a passenger prince.
37:19This is lovely.
37:21There's so much to do.
37:23It's a lot of fun.
37:25It's a lot of fun.
37:27This is lovely.
37:29Do I still have to follow all the rules back here?
37:31Yes. All hands and feet
37:33inside the bus at all times.
37:35Do not stick your head or limbs out of the way, though.
37:37Alright, I think
37:39we're almost here. This is a
37:41bougie bus. Real proud of you, kiddo.
37:45I've asked Tanner to take Madison out
37:47for a dirt bike ride, so we have a few
37:49minutes to set everything up on the deck.
37:53And there. I thought that
37:55this might be a fun way to hang out with some snacks
37:57and some popcorn.
37:59And here they come.
38:01Right there.
38:03Alright.
38:05Can't wait for them to see it.
38:09What's up, guys?
38:11Oh my gosh.
38:15Alex and I wanted to get you a little early
38:17wedding present.
38:19Say hello to your fully customized adventure bus.
38:21This looks a little different
38:23from when I was working on it.
38:25Oh my gosh, this is insane.
38:27I had no idea.
38:29It's absolutely amazing.
38:31This is fantastic.
38:33What you guys talked about is like every
38:35weekend, you guys are doing something.
38:37Oh yeah.
38:39We try to be gone every weekend.
38:41So that was sort of the scheme that Alex came up with.
38:43It was the adventure bus.
38:45I love it. This wrap is awesome.
38:47Isn't that incredible?
38:49I know, right?
38:51I love the trees.
38:53The biggest thing we wanted to do came from a story you told me
38:55about when you guys travel, and I honestly did not know this
38:57medicine, that he puts the dirt bikes inside the camper.
38:59So we started
39:01with a 78 passenger bus
39:03chopped 14 feet out of the middle
39:05and then slid the back forward.
39:07Then I had Tanner help me convert the back
39:09of the bus into a 14 foot
39:11diamond plate steel deck
39:13designed to carry all of your
39:15favorite toys. By my count, we'll hold
39:17eight dirt bikes. Yeah, check out this deck.
39:19This was something that we wanted to have a
39:21dual use for you.
39:23So not only was it designed to haul
39:25the rigs on, Sprout wanted to turn it
39:27into a hangout spot so you could still get up
39:29out of the dirt. I love it.
39:31These stanchions actually come down so during
39:33travel they all break down and stow away.
39:35Yep, run down the road.
39:37What is that?
39:39That's a screen? Yep.
39:41And then there's your projector.
39:43That'll hook up to your phone.
39:45You might have to teach me how to use that.
39:47Oh yeah, definitely. And I might have to
39:49sneak up here for a movie night.
39:51Absolutely, yeah.
39:53You guys want to see the inside? Yes.
39:55Yeah, let's do it.
39:57Oh my goodness.
39:59Oh wow.
40:01Oh my gosh.
40:03Oh my goodness.
40:05This is
40:07awesome.
40:09Welcome to the honeymoon suite portion
40:11of your adventure bus.
40:13We ripped off decades of chewing gum
40:15and completely revamped the interior
40:17with a queen size bed
40:19and custom cabinets for storage and food prep.
40:21And this custom dining table
40:23built by David himself.
40:25That is pretty.
40:27You like it? Oh my gosh.
40:29So they asked me one thing,
40:31what you would really like.
40:33Blanket ladder. I love it.
40:35I was hoping that you could take some of the blankets
40:37out of the house and bring them in here.
40:39No, we'll just get more.
40:41Look at the rug.
40:43Oh my gosh, this is amazing.
40:45How good is the seat?
40:47It's very nice.
40:51You just broke
40:53one of the bus rules.
40:55I did. I forgot.
40:57I forgot the bus rules.
40:59Well, what do we think?
41:01This is incredible. I love it.
41:03I absolutely love these seats and how they tie in to everything.
41:05Yeah, we had them all
41:07reformed and stuffed and
41:09bolstered so they're all nice and fresh
41:11because the old ones were in a rougher state.
41:13Rougher state.
41:15They were in a real rough state.
41:17Well, the fun thing for me,
41:19I don't know if you ever knew this, I used to live in a bus.
41:21It did not look like this. Not even a little bit like this.
41:23No. It was a lot of happiness
41:25for me to work on another bus again.
41:27Man, we love this thing. This is awesome.
41:29Kathy and Alex did a lot of work
41:31and it really shows.
41:33Oh my gosh, it's absolutely amazing.
41:35Thank you guys so much.
41:37I absolutely love it. The coloration
41:39and the soft feel you guys did.
41:41It's so nice.
41:43I absolutely love it.
41:45Well, cheers to you guys and to a happy marriage.
41:49So what's the first adventure?
41:51Oh, trail riding. There's a little place I know
41:53it's like half a million acres. Trails.
41:55Just go out and go.
41:57Gonna have some adventures for sure.
41:59Awesome. Very cool. We'll let you get to your evening.
42:01Thanks guys. See you guys.
42:03See you guys.
42:05I want some popcorn.
42:07You want some popcorn? Yeah.
42:09I think we're gonna use that deck a lot. I think so too.
42:11Don't have to hook on a camper
42:13or try to get bikes inside
42:15of a camper. It's just
42:17all right there.
42:19I thought it was really cool that they made it
42:21something where we can hang out to
42:23and not just see our bikes sit
42:25on it. Here.
42:27Catch a nut. No.
42:29Come on. No. You gotta do it.
42:31Ready? Uh huh.
42:33We're gonna do one more.
42:35I'm gonna lob it. Hold on. Wait.
42:37That one would have been perfect.
42:43And just for good measure, one more
42:45wedding gift for Tanner and Madison.
42:55Wow.
42:57Those are awesome.
42:59Awesome.
