00:04Actress Oscar to Janie Lee Curtis back in 2023. The 66-year-old actress revisits her loss with
00:10Town & Country in an interview posted on February 20th, sharing she felt limited in how she was
00:15supposed to respond. She was nominated for her work in Marvel's Black Panther Wakanda Forever,
00:20but the award ultimately went to Janie for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
00:24Angela went viral for her facial expression during Hollywood's Biggest Night and is now
00:28reflecting on fans' reactions.
00:30I found it interesting, Angela told the outlet,
00:32interesting that I wouldn't be allowed to be disappointed at an outcome where I thought I
00:36was deserving. And as far as Janie winning, she said, quote, I love applauding people,
00:40but in that moment, I have put in the time, put in good work over time. I didn't think that was
00:44a gift. I thought it was a given. And a year after losing, the 9-1-1 star chatted with Oprah
00:48Winfrey in March 2024 about the disappointing moment. I just knew your name was going to be
00:53called. And then when they didn't, I was beside myself. We were beside ourselves in our house.

01:33human. So I thought, yes, I was disappointed and I was and I handled it like a human being.

01:40Angela, who was first nominated for an Oscar for 1994's What's Love Got to Do With It
01:44for her portrayal as Tina Turner, finally received her flowers in January 2024.
01:49When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognized Angela with an
01:53Honorary Academy Award at the ceremony, paying homage to her four decades in the industry.
