A look at the latest Champions League draw for Villa.
Transcript
00:00So Charlie, Aston Villa's Champions League campaign now we've mentioned it a
00:04few times how they have slowly gone about their business in there they
00:07obviously started fantastically well with it with a few fantastic results you
00:10know the likes of the buy-in win at home as well was a crazy night at Villa Park
00:15and then you know playing the likes of Juventus etc it's sort of new ground
00:20that they've tapped into for the first time in a very very long time of course
00:23since they won the competition all those years ago in terms of their last 16
00:29opponents what do you sort of make of the draw what can you tell us how will
00:32Villa fans be feeling and then if they are to progress you know obviously two
00:36legs to go into if they are to progress then then what what's the next challenge
00:40after that foot for Aston Villa yeah it's an incredibly exciting time to be
00:46Aston Villa fan not one myself but to see as a journalist the way that they've
00:49progressed under Unai Emery to get to the Conference League last season
00:52Champions League for this and to get to the latter stages of the competition as
00:55well so so exciting and they've probably had the most favorable draw
00:59out of anybody left in the competition I'd probably argue Club Bruges they did
01:04play them and they lost in the league phase but that defeat was such an
01:08unusual night and you might remember the Tyrone Mings picking up the ball and
01:12giving away a penalty but it was such a strange moment that Arsenal did a few
01:16years ago I think against Bayern Munich potentially and they got away with it
01:19Villa didn't Club Bruges won that game Villa probably deserved to win it and
01:24didn't so I think they'll take confidence even though they didn't win
01:27in Bruges that they can go and do so the second time around and Unai Emery is so
01:31good as well at picking up lessons from taking on teams and those experiences
01:36and looking back on what they can do better I think they'll do a better job
01:39this time around though that said Bruges they did beat Atalanta to reach this
01:44stage and Atalanta of course being the Europa League champions of last year
01:48they look so so strong in this year's competition they were defeated but it
01:53must be mentioned in that second leg in particular that was against Atalanta
01:58Atalanta had about 30 shots in that game and Bruges had seven Bruges winning five
02:03to an aggregate in the end but so clinical surely they can't keep up that
02:07kind of level of goal scoring from such few shots and Villa as well especially
02:11with Emi Martinez between the sticks you'd expect that they're built to keep
02:14out the goals in that respect yeah and then if they are to win what does it
02:18look like in terms of their next opponent for the quarterfinal which you
02:22know is quite crazy to say yeah if it was on the other side of the draw they
02:26would have played Dortmund in this game and then Barcelona or Benfica but the
02:30way it is it will be either Paris Saint-Germain or Liverpool if Villa
02:34progress to the quarterfinals I think it's slightly disappointing that you
02:37could play against a team from your own country I'm not sure Villa fans will
02:41like that too much having to play Liverpool yet again
02:44obviously I did draw against them at Villa Park recently a very impressive
02:47performance in that one but such a tough draw either way PSG would be the more
02:51exciting one a trip to part of the proms and playing against the likes of
02:55some of the best players in the world there I think that would be the more
02:59exciting route but Liverpool the more likely opponents in that quarterfinal
