At one point, Spider-Man drives his arm through Sandman. This could have been done with CGI, but director Sam Raimi decided to hire stuntman Baxter Humby. This made the scene much more realistic, and Baxter was able to fulfill his biggest dream, which he had once considered impossible: being Spider-Man.
