Transcript
00:00the difficult economic conditions we've seen in decades.
00:03Not just run a small business,
00:04but employ fellow Australians,
00:06interact with other businesses,
00:08grow the economy,
00:09think of new ideas and new initiatives
00:11to pump into consumers.
00:13We desperately, desperately need you,
00:15and I'm full of awe,
00:17for the work that you put into your firms,
00:19whether it's in the Shire,
00:20or with Wally's Mob in the Canary Basin area,
00:24right across New South Wales.
00:26It's been very difficult,
00:27and the fact that you're on your feet,
00:29and not just on your feet, but thriving,
00:31is a credit to the businesses of New South Wales,
00:33how resilient and how tough they are.
00:36We also want to make the point
00:37that it's the New South Wales government's responsibility,
00:39as much as the Commonwealth government,
00:41to help the Reserve Bank in this journey
00:44of interest rate cuts.
00:46We recognise that we can't be overstimulating the economy.
00:50We've got to be responsible with taxpayer funds.
00:53So one of the most difficult decisions
00:55that we made upon entering government,
00:57was to keep a very close eye on the New South Wales budget.
01:01As a result, we've improved the budget position
01:03by about $5.7 to $6 billion in a very short space of time.
