00:16The Philippines and Palau strengthened the cooperation of the two countries.

00:21This is followed by the visit of the President of Palau to President Sir Angel Wips, Jr. in Malacanang.

00:25The Philippines and Palau signed three agreements,

00:29along with the official visit to the country of Wips.

00:32This includes the cooperation in fishing,

00:34which contributes to the protection of the rich seas,

00:37and stops illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.

00:42The diplomatic note was also strengthened for the study visit of Palau

00:46to the training institutions,

00:48fish farms, and research facilities of the Philippines.

00:52The Memorandum of Understanding on Policy Consultations was also signed,

00:57which strengthens the mechanism of exchanging views

01:01on bilateral and regional cooperation.

01:05I reaffirm the Philippines' commitment to working closely with Pacific nations

01:09in charting the future of the Pacific

01:12and our unyielding support

01:14to efforts to advance the resilience of our Pacific kin,

01:17which at the heart of the Philippine-Pacific Initiative.

01:22The bilateral meeting of the two leaders

01:25on the cooperation of the Philippines and Palau

01:28in the face of the current geopolitical challenges,

01:31especially the threat of climate change, was also strengthened.

01:34President Wips emphasized this type of cooperation

01:38in the fisheries of sturgeon fish,

01:40where they feed each other,

01:42but work together to form a group

01:45to protect each other in times of crisis.

01:48We must collaborate in navigating the geopolitical issues

01:58that we face with climate change.

02:39that Palau will be a partner

02:40towards a new and resilient defender of peace.
