00:00Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon recommended

00:03the installation of clear signages and bridgeways in the EDSA busway in Ortigas.

00:09This is so that it won't be confusing to the passengers of the MRT-3.

00:20The public should expect a more modern EDSA busway in the next year.

00:24This is the task of the Department of Transportation

00:26to make the passengers' journey easier and more comfortable.

00:30On the first day of the Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon's appointment,

00:34he personally tried to ride the EDSA busway from Ortigas to the monument

00:38to see the problems faced by the commuters.

00:42One of the things he noticed is the narrow path for the passengers of the EDSA busway and MRT-3

00:47which is full of obstacles and confusing to the passengers.

00:51This is where Secretary Dizon emphasized the construction of a concourse

00:54or bridgeway for the EDSA busways in Ortigas

00:57as well as clearer signages to facilitate the movement of the commuters.

01:02As a model, DOT-R will use the design of the concourse or bridgeway of a mall in North EDSA

01:08and it will be implemented in the lower EDSA busway station.

01:12We're going to start the process of bidding out for the improvement of the stations for this year.

01:22So there's budget allocated and we will use the model station of SM North EDSA and SM Mega Mall.

01:29We will replicate those in all the other 21 stations.

01:34Aside from this, Kalihim also noticed the improper operation of some timers in the EDSA busway.

01:39Secretary Dizon insisted that the illegal vehicles passing through the EDSA busway

01:45should be monitored while continuing to study the possibility of its privatization.

01:49Meanwhile, Kalihim in Malacanang also approved the list of seven officials

01:52who will lead the major sectors of DOT-R.

01:55One of the important directives of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. to Secretary Dizon

01:59is to speed up the big-ticket projects of the government

02:02including MRT, LRT, Subway, and Busway, especially in the matter of the right-of-way.
