00:00The world's largest religious gathering continues to witness an unprecedented influx of devotees
00:06as visuals are showing you.
00:08In fact, logistical challenges are there, they are monumental, but there is cutting
00:12edge AI technology.
00:14The authorities are now making sure that they use AI and they are using AI to manage the
00:18crowd ensuring that there is safety and there is also order.
00:22We are telling you how innovation is playing a pivotal role in managing this historic event.
00:30It's the world's largest religious congregation, the Divine Mahakumar.
00:40Nearly 64 crore devotees have already taken the holy dip.
00:45With millions gathered, the logistical challenges for law enforcement and authorities are enormous.
00:55But how have authorities successfully tracked the daily count of pilgrims?
01:01A team of technical experts have been working on an AI-driven system, integrating technology
01:08with the complexities of managing this colossal human gathering.
01:18The green boxes on your screen are known as computer vision, allowing machines to identify
01:24and count individuals in video footage.
01:29Meanwhile, the red dots represent markers indicating crowd density.
01:38Two kinds of use cases and AI models have been deployed here.
01:44One is for getting the crowd density data in a camera field of view and then mapping
01:52different cameras in a particular zone.
01:55So let's say there is a Ghat and there are X number of cameras installed at Ghat.
01:59So we need the data, how many people are at that Ghat at any point of time.
02:04So we make it as a reason.
02:07That is one thing.
02:08At the same time, we have got people count cameras.
02:09That is another AI model.
02:12Of the 1,700 cameras deployed, 500 are AI enabled, connected to servers through an optical
02:20fiber network.
02:22Two advanced AI models work in tandem.
02:26One estimates crowd density, while the other counts individuals.
02:32These models interact with live feeds and the data is further refined using information
02:38from facial recognition cameras, ultimately processed through a business algorithm to
02:43provide even more precise insights.
02:47The integrated command center in Prayagraj receives final data and critical alerts via
02:53a cloud-based dashboard, which helps in law and order maintenance.
03:17This AI-driven system not only estimates crowd, but also helps understand and manage
03:40human behavior on an unprecedented scale.
03:44The Mahakumbh provides an opportunity for AI to learn from the flow of millions, setting
03:50the stage for future innovations in crowd control and safety.
