00:00It's very hard to follow in the footsteps of a football legend in our news and he's obviously articulated very well from a footballing context the importance of today and it reminds us of a moment for us in the RTA and our partners here at Melbourne Board.
00:15From a women's football perspective it's obviously also lovely to stand here on the back of a wonderful win last night and for our senior women's team and what that brings in terms of the inspiration for us as a sport.
00:27I think for me to articulate the importance of a moment like this and obviously a national football centre that can bring to women's and girls football in particular, it comes at a pivotal moment for us when we're about to launch our new five year strategy.
00:42I don't want to give away too much on that because our launch for the women's and girls strategy that takes place the next Wednesday evening in the National Stadium in Winter Park but actually the title of that strategy brings home to me the importance of today's event as well.
00:57Together we thrive, enhancing the meaning for everyone. That's the title of our women's and girls strategy but it's pertinent today for everyone who's involved in football, not just for our elite teams and elite facilities that can bring up a pair of players for the next generations and those performing on the world stage on behalf of us but actually for our administrators, our clubs, our communities, our referees, everyone who actually makes football happen on a daily basis can benefit from a facility like this.
01:27I think that's what brings it home to all of us, the importance of us taking this next step in our journey and ensuring that everyone else comes along that journey with us.
01:36Really from our perspective, I think it's important to say that this is a pivotal moment and one that we're really looking forward to seeing impact positively, not only in Rhode Island's football context but actually in the communities throughout Rhode Island and inspire those next generations to get involved in football and everything that comes with that.
01:54So, from my perspective, I'm proud to be standing here today as a representative for women's and girls football but also on behalf of the RCFA to say we look forward to seeing this grow and come to fruition in the future. My job now is to introduce Mr. Gordon-Lyons and to come up and say a few words on behalf of the public. Thank you.
