Mark Atkinson reports on a dramatic match between Dundee United and Hibs.
Transcript
00:00Never a dull moment at Canadies when Dundee United and Hibs meet. Last time they played
00:06here United scored two goals in nine minutes of stoppage time to win 3-2. This time around
00:12it was Hibs' turn to have the joy of scoring late on netting two goals in 10 minutes of
00:17stoppage time as they won 3-1 here to leap above United into fourth place, preserve their
00:2214 game unbeaten record in the league and become serious contenders now for European
00:28football. David Gray's juggernaut of the football team just keeps rolling on. They weren't at
00:32their best against Dundee United in a very physical encounter but they've come out on
00:37top and put themselves in a great position now to kick on and potentially secure third
00:42place. They're only one point behind Aberdeen who currently have that position. As I say
00:47weren't at their best here. Dundee United played pretty well, thought they had got the
00:52noses in front of the second half when the score was poised at 1-1. Sam Dalby had a goal
00:56disallowed after a five minute VAR check for a handball. That kind of changed the game.
01:02Hibs recovered after that, they were second best and their winner I suppose in 19 minutes
01:10came from Kieran Billy. He bulldozed through and lashed a fantastic shot into the 2-1.
01:15Junior Harlett made it 3-1 at the last kick of the game. Earlier on in proceedings Ross
01:20Graham had put it out of their head in six minutes before Mikko Lukakarovic equalised
01:24on 18. United will feel pretty hard done but I'm fascinated to see if Jim Goodwin's
01:29got complaints about the VAR check. It was checked for not only the handball but also
01:33offside. It took forever and kind of took the wind out of United's sails. But that will
01:39be no complaint for those Hibs fans who you can hear in the background chanting away.
01:45David Gray, a club legend, has done quite a remarkable job turning them round and you
01:49wouldn't now bet against him going on to finish third. Of course they take on Hearts who themselves
01:54are in good form after their 3-1 win over St Meren in a mouth-watering Edinburgh derby
01:58on Sunday. Could the Jamborees be the team to finally end this fantastic Hibs record?
02:05Dramatic night here at Tanadice, a huge twist in the tale in the race for European football.
02:10It finished, Dundee United 1, Hibs 3.
