00:25That's why the DepEd is encouraging the students to adjust the time of their classes
00:29so that the kids can safely and without permission study.
00:36Mang Ramil's son, a Grade 4 student in Kamuning Elementary School, is suffering from a cold.
00:42He says that the heat is getting worse, especially in the past few days.
00:48It's really bad. They really need to rest before they go to school because it's really hard.
00:55It's really hot. My skin hurts.
00:57I can't focus because it's really hot inside the room.
00:59That's why I told my father to get me some water because it's really hot.
01:04Some of the parents we talked to also experienced the effects of the heat on the students,
01:09not only on their health, but also on their focus on their studies.

01:25DepEd is encouraging schools to adjust their class hours.
01:30Morning sessions from 6am to 10am and afternoon sessions from 2pm to 6pm.
01:37Asynchronous learning hours are from 10am to 2pm.
01:42DepEd also added that when the heat index reaches 42 degrees Celsius or when the LGU orders it,
01:48schools can now transition to remote or asynchronous learning.
01:53Some parents are worried that remote learning might affect their students.
01:58It's really hard when I'm at home. I can't focus on my studies.
02:02It's really different when I'm inside the school.
02:05When I'm at home, because it's really hot, I can't focus.
02:09At home, it's hard for the kids to learn.
02:13Because what the kids do is learn from the gadgets of the parents.
