00:00We had ties to Bears Ears.
00:13My grandfather, great-grandfather, were living in those areas.
00:19It was their supermarket, their medicine cabinet, and their church.
00:27A place to heal themselves.
00:31I just feel there are those that are ignorant to understanding our ways.
00:36Something that's important to me is water, the air.
00:41They see that as dollar signs.
00:43What's happening in the West as far as allowing an extreme environmental element to take over
00:50the management of our public lands.
00:52It's already affected my children and it will affect my grandchildren because there's no
00:57job.
00:58There's thoughts of government overreach, abuse of executive power, descendants of the
01:03pioneering families.
01:05Post-Anglo settlement they were the ones here and there's a sense of proprietorial view
01:10towards things.
01:11And so there's a little bit of a fear of loss of that local control.
01:15There's 15,000 voters in San Juan County.
01:1915,000 voters don't make the difference in a national presidential election.
01:25You understand that this is a really difficult thing for the president to do because he's
01:30not doing it to be political.
01:32And that's why I support President Trump.
01:35This is an area where the Native Americans outnumber the white population, yet very,
01:41very few elected officials are Native.
01:44Many of the indigenous tribes of this country are feeling is that need to be heard.
01:51We are going through a time that we need to be together.
01:55Our people say, na nama, as one.
01:58Inviting them to sit to the table obviously hasn't worked, right?
02:01You know, I mean you see what happened when Trump sent his representative here to talk
02:06to the people, but he didn't mean our people.
02:08Zinky, is there a reason why you're not listening to tribal leaders?
02:11Zinky, are you going to visit with the tribes tomorrow?
02:13Be nice.
02:14I'm so nice.
02:15Be nice.
02:17There's a much deeper level of understanding that we have to grow from.
02:23But the most simple place that we need to come from is remembering we're all human beings
02:28and we all need to be able to live with one another and be kind.
02:34Engage in this fight.
02:35Resend the monument.
02:38Listen to my people.
02:39We don't want to be pushed aside and be forgotten.
