00:00I was going, hey, wait a minute, the world's in collapse here and we're not doing anything
00:08about it.
00:09And people are like, oh yeah, that's a problem.
00:15And there was a sense of utter disconnected in realities.
00:23Climate change is just dealt with as if it was any other discrete environmental issue.
00:31For years, we said we can solve this if everyone would just put the right light bulbs and buy
00:34a Prius.
00:35What we really needed to be doing was from the very beginning, raising hell.
00:44Eight hours of community service and then they'll dismiss as if they had never been
00:49filed the charges.
00:51In theory, I could just show up and do this every two weeks or so if I wanted.
00:55Go up at 2.30 in the morning thinking, why am I doing this?
01:01Nobody's going to care, nobody's going to notice.
01:06One, two, three, four, five postcard votes.
01:16If you've done all the legal available methods and they don't work, then the only thing that
01:21you have left is to put your body in the way.
01:25I feel a large amount of pride for the stuff my dad does because he saved the world and
01:30all that.
01:33The odds are vanishingly small and you really are basically fucked, but that's no excuse
01:40for not figuring out what to do next.
01:43One man can't do this.
01:47Life is hard for zealots.
01:48Some of my heroes in history were zealots, the suffragettes, the abolitionists.
01:55Makes him hard to love, but it also makes him worth loving, I guess.
02:04He's dedicated, he's articulate, he's passionate, and he's guilty.
02:09I'm now showing Exhibit 18 to the jury.
02:14We need moral clarity, we need sides to be drawn.
02:17Either you're for burning fossil fuels and ending the world, or you're against it.
02:22Which is it?
