00:00Is there any scenario where you would not want to use thermal paste?
00:03You don't actually need thermal paste for your CPU but let me explain.
00:07Now if you're brand new and don't already know thermal paste is used to transfer the heat away
00:11from your CPU and into the CPU cooler. Most CPU coolers come with a protective plastic sheet and
00:17if you leave this on here by accident and still use thermal paste that heat does not get transferred
00:22at all. It's 100% required to have some sort of solution in between your CPU and your CPU cooler
00:28but it doesn't have to be paste. They actually make these reusable thermal pads that are tiny
00:33little sheets which you just lay down on top of the CPU and they work great. The thermal grizzly
00:37cryo sheets are the most popular I think but I'd be willing to bet that the other brands and models
00:42work as well. Just make sure that you get the right size to ensure the CPU is fully covered up.
00:46Personally I would just use the paste but if for whatever reason you don't want to this is an option.
