00:00Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown got close while filming their new movie, The Electric State,
00:05which is about robot uprising in the 90s.
00:08They also shared the moments that they want to recreate if given the chance.
00:12Lin Ching has a report.
00:18We're here in Los Angeles, California for the black carpet grand premiere of the movie, The Electric State,
00:25directed by Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown, directed by the famous Russo Brothers.
00:34At the Historic Romance Egyptian Theater,
00:37other cast members were invited,
00:40including Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander, and Stanley Tucci.
00:44Now, here's the question.
00:47What will happen in the world if there's an all-out war between robots and humans?
00:53Who's the bad guy, them or us?
00:56That's the premise of the movie, The Electric State, set in the 1990s.
01:02Millie wasn't born yet in the 90s, so I asked Chris.
01:06You lived through the 90s.
01:08What do you wish that Millie could have experienced herself in the 90s?
01:12I feel for her and for anyone of her generation that, you know,
01:17Jonathan Haidt is coined the anxious generation.
01:20I, I, it'd be nice for these kids to understand the world that existed before all of the technology that exists now.
01:28The two of them had a close day in making the movie.
01:31The directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, also received high praises.
01:36The challenge for this movie was it deals with very complex ideas.
01:42It deals with a lot of heavy emotion.
01:45It deals with real loss in terms of the character relationships.
01:50And, but also, we needed it to be fun and energetic and humorous and witty.
01:54And it's very hard to find actors that can deliver on both of those levels.
01:59I mean, Chris Pratt is as funny as anybody you'll ever encounter.
02:03If we were going to make a movie with a strong teenage female heroine,
02:08I mean, you can't think of anybody else you'd rather have play that part than Millie.
02:12And we wrote the role for her, so it's a good thing she said yes to playing it,
02:16because it would have been difficult to cast somebody that can fill her shoes.
02:21Stanley Tucci's character creates a moment with his mom using the new Neurocaster.
02:27If you could, what moment would you like to create or recreate?
02:31Anything with my grandmother.
02:32Like, yeah, I wasn't able to be with her before she died because of COVID.
02:36So if I would be able to, you know, imagine just even a conversation again,
02:42just with her would be very meaningful to me.
02:46I'd get sentimental. I'd go back and hang out with my dad, probably, you know?
02:50That's it. I'm a child of the 90s, and he was still alive back then.
02:53I would go fishing, probably, go fishing with the old man.
02:55Palabas na ang The Electric State sa March 14 on Netflix.
03:00Lynching updated sa Showbiz Happenings.
