00:00Let's talk about your Eagles, Saquon Steele.
00:03Did you like it or not?
00:05I don't think you'll ever put up those numbers again.
00:08This was more of a reward for winning the Super Bowl and getting them another ring,
00:12to me.
00:13Part of it, you're absolutely right, is a reward because, Scott, quite frankly, if you
00:19look at the landscape of running back, Christian McCaffrey had been the highest paid running
00:24back since 2020.
00:25No one had come close to getting what he was making.
00:28And McCaffrey, a couple years ago, got an adjustment, a pay raise from the Niners.
00:34And Saquon was only making $12.5 million on the three-year deal he signed with the Eagles.
00:39He was vastly underpaid.
00:42Very light money in terms of guaranteed money in year three, and the Eagles, on your point,
00:46that's what they were doing.
00:47They were giving him peace of mind, giving him more guaranteed money up front.
00:51And look, you know it, Scott.
00:52He put the team on his back.
00:53I know their defense was great.
00:55He did.
00:56They were not sniffing anything in the playoffs without Saquon Parker.
01:01He was absolutely incredible.
01:03Super high-character guy.
01:04And also, Zach Vaughn, Scott, do you realize Zach Vaughn had never played inside linebacker
01:08in his life?
01:09Do you realize that?
01:10He was unbelievable.
01:11I thought he was incredible.
01:14Best inside backer in football this past season.
01:16Better than Fred Warner.
01:17I didn't say he's better than Fred Warner overall, but he's better than Fred Warner
01:20last season.
01:21He played better than Fred Warner did this year.
01:23He sure did.
01:24That play in the Super Bowl was sickening.
01:27That pick was incredible.
01:28But, here's a couple things here, Scott, which people should realize.
01:32Franchise starts at 12 p.m. Eastern on Monday.
01:35Milt Williams, number 93, he's the best defensive player most fans have never heard of.
01:40He's going to make $21 million a season or more.
01:42You watch.
01:43There's a realistic chance he does not resign with the Eagles because, Scott, Jalen Carter,
01:49after the season, most likely will get an extension.
01:51In a couple years, Quinion Mitchell and Cooper Dejean.
01:54Nolan Smith, after the season, potentially can get an extension.
01:57Can't pay everybody.
01:58And Josh Swett, number 19, who had two and a half sacks in the Super Bowl, Scott, another
02:02guy likely will walk.
02:04You can't pay everybody.
02:05The Eagles will still get it done.
02:07Howie Roseman, the last four years in the draft, nobody drafting better, nobody better
02:10right now.
02:11He's turned his career around.
02:12It's the 2020 season.
02:14You got to trust Roseman with what he does.
02:16But again, folks, if you're an Eagles fan listening to us or watching us, you can't
02:21keep everybody.
02:22It's impossible in the salary cap era, in the cash era.
02:27But the Eagles will do whatever they can to keep this thing together.
02:30I mean, they're already dangerous as they are.
02:34And the deals that they're doing are smart.
02:36And Roseman's the best in the business.
02:39I think they'll be in a good position again to go for another run.
