00:00The ship of the heart, the cradle of life, the soul of Makkah, Madinah,
00:07this is what makes a man, a human being.
00:15The Lord of the worlds, the Lord of all the worlds.
00:20Sir, welcome to this segment of Ilm-ul-Ima and we have chosen a topic.
00:25We start our day with the blessed names of Allah.
00:29May Allah bless us all.
00:32Today, we are receiving blessings from the blessed name of Allah,
00:37we are receiving blessings from the blessed name of Allah,
00:40and no one can overcome it.
00:42The one who fasts 41 times for 40 days, Allah will make him rich,
00:49and he will be loved by all creation.
00:51And Allah will not let him be dependent on anyone.
00:56Respected viewers, today's topic is a topic that is discussed on a daily basis.
01:07That is, trade.
01:09Trade is a topic that is discussed on a daily basis.
01:13People think that if they get a job, they will get what they are looking for.
01:19But those who know the benefits of trade,
01:24they do not leave it, they keep it in their possession.
01:26In this regard, we will talk.
01:28Our scholars will speak on this topic.
01:32Allama Mufti Muhammad Akmal Madani Sahib,
01:36Ustaz-ul-Ulema, please come.
01:38Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
01:40Ustaz-ul-Ulema Allama Liaquat Hussain Azarita Sahib, please come.
01:45Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
01:48And with him is a well-known scholar and a teacher of the Qur'an,
01:52who explains the Qur'an in a beautiful way.
01:55And on other matters, he writes.
01:57Allama Hafiz Uwais Ahmed Sahib, please come.
02:00Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
02:03And on my left side, four stars,
02:05Khush Ilan, Khush Awas, Khush Guloo,
02:08and our scholars' favorite star,
02:11Saqlain Rashid, Daniyal Sheikh, Ali Shabbir, Tasadduq Rasool.
02:14Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
02:18First of all, Mufti sahib,
02:20as you describe the topic and it starts from here,
02:23then we will draw from it and ask questions.
02:25Please shed light on the advantages and importance of trade, Mufti sahib.
02:29I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.
02:31In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful.
02:34In Arabic, trade is called baa'a.
02:36And it means, exchanging wealth with wealth in exchange.
02:41Exchanging wealth with wealth in exchange,
02:45with mutual consent.
02:48So this is a very important source of income.
02:52And it is important in many ways.
02:55For example, when Allah forbade interest,
02:58then He pointed to the intention of trade.
03:00In fact, He clearly mentioned it.
03:02And when Allah mentions something with respect,
03:05and with respect,
03:08then only its importance becomes clear.
03:10Allah says,
03:11Allah has made baa'a lawful and interest unlawful.
03:20The Prophet also mentioned many advantages of trade.
03:23For example, Allah has designated ten sources of income.
03:31Or there are ten means of income,
03:33nine of which are in trade.
03:36This means that this is a very big source of income and lawful income.
03:42And while mentioning its advantages,
03:44the Prophet said,
03:46that the trader who is truthful and trustworthy,
03:56will be with the truthful and truthful people on the Day of Judgment.
04:02So we can say that the one who adopts this description of trade,
04:06and practically does it,
04:08then he is a trader and he will be worthy of such a great reward.
04:12And then,
04:13since it is related to the Prophets,
04:16many Prophets used to trade.
04:19Our mother, Khadija al-Kubra, may Allah be pleased with her,
04:23and the first source of income for Sayyid al-Awwalin wal-Akhirin was trade.
04:28They used to trade.
04:30Then later he said,
04:32that Allah has placed my sustenance in the form of a reward,
04:34which used to come in the form of spoils of war.
04:36The spoils of war used to be fulfilled,
04:38and the spoils of war used to be obtained.
04:41And the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with him,
04:43kept it very dear to the Companions.
04:44And when such a deed was seen,
04:47they used to be happy and used to pray.
04:49Like in the narration of Hazrat Bukhari,
04:50Hazrat Urwa, may Allah be pleased with him,
04:52was given one dinar by the government,
04:54that you buy a goat.
04:56He went, he was a very skilled trader,
04:58and he bought two goats for that one dinar.
05:01And after buying two, he sold one of the goats for one dinar.
05:04And when he brought it to the Prophet,
05:06he gave him both the dinar and the goat.
05:08The government was very happy,
05:10and the government prayed to him,
05:12that may Allah bless you in trade.
05:14So the Companions say that if they had put their hand in the soil,
05:17Allah would have given them profit in that too.
05:19And then you see that today,
05:21worldwide, you see,
05:23if you look at the trading on the internet,
05:25or look at the import-export,
05:27the importance will become clear,
05:29that if you end this trade,
05:31the country will become Diwali.
05:33So this is such an important thing,
05:35and we will talk about it later,
05:37that sometimes you are doing direct trade,
05:39sometimes as a partner,
05:41sometimes as a sleeping partner.
05:43Allah has blessed it in every way.
05:45So in summary,
05:47like you said,
05:49that saying is also very true,
05:51that if there is a job,
05:53there is always a delay.
05:55But at the same time,
05:57the way,
05:59the way the Prophets chose to earn their livelihood,
06:01that too,
06:03should be maintained with some effort.
06:05Like if you have a job,
06:07and do a part-time business,
06:09then Allah will bless you abundantly.
06:11Very beautiful thing you said,
06:13and this is very common,
06:15that a job leads to a home,
06:17and a business leads to a family.
06:19This is a very fundamental thing,
06:21and a big difference that we should understand.
06:23Allah has kept blessings in trade,
06:25and two things are very important in it.
06:27One is patience,
06:29and the other is trust in Allah.
06:31Tawakkul, as it is called.
06:33So those things are there in trade,
06:35and that is why Allah has blessed us.
06:37Now let us find out the commandments here.
06:39In the Holy Quran,
06:41and in the blessed Hadiths,
06:43in what way are the commandments of trade mentioned?
06:45Allama Liaquat,
06:47Hussain Azari will explain.
06:49Thank you very much,
06:51May peace and blessings of Allah be upon His chosen servants.
06:53I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.
06:55In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
06:57O you who have believed,
06:59do not eat the wealth of falsehood among yourselves,
07:01except that it be a business
07:03among you.
07:05Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
07:07Like Ghafti Sahib,
07:09in a very beautiful way,
07:11he raised the subject of structure.
07:13In the Holy Quran,
07:15Furqan-e-Hameed, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
07:17has told us that
07:19we should trade with mutual consent
07:21and not to eat
07:23the wealth of falsehood.
07:25The principles of trade,
07:27the rules,
07:29like honesty and trust,
07:31have been mentioned.
07:33He has also told us
07:35not to include swearing,
07:37falsehood, and breaking of promises.
07:39He has told us that
07:41this trade will take place,
07:43but due to the creation of
07:45evil in the trade,
07:47we should trade according to the Shariah.
07:49See,
07:51Allah Almighty has created man
07:53and has given him
07:55the means to live his life.
07:57One of the biggest means,
07:59as mentioned in the Holy Quran,
08:01out of the ten parts of trade,
08:03nine parts,
08:05out of the ten parts of livelihood,
08:07Allah Almighty has kept nine parts in trade.
08:09Subhanallah.
08:11It is such a big day.
08:13We are celebrating the first day of Ramadan.
08:15He has told us to come immediately
08:17for Jummah.
08:23He has told us that
08:25the servants of Allah,
08:27no trade, no swearing,
08:29nothing can stop them from
08:31remembering Allah.
08:33You have offered Salah,
08:35and if you have offered Salah,
08:37then start in the land
08:39and seek from Allah.
08:41You should realize that
08:43trade, livelihood,
08:45all this has been explained
08:47by the grace of Allah.
08:49In Surah Al-Muzammil,
08:51Allah says,
08:53It has been encouraged
08:55to wake up at night.
08:57It is very difficult to wake up at night.
08:59Then Allah says,
09:01there are some people who are
09:03on a journey,
09:05on a business tour.
09:07Allah Almighty has encouraged
09:09the Quraish,
09:11to go on a journey.
09:13A journey is a journey,
09:15a tour.
09:17He used to travel twice,
09:19once in winter and once in summer.
09:21He used to come to Yemen
09:23to sell his goods in winter.
09:25He used to come to Yemen in summer
09:27and go to Syria in winter.
09:29These were his two tours,
09:31towards Yemen
09:33and towards Syria.
09:35These were his two business tours of the year.
09:37Since the weather in Yemen
09:39is good,
09:41he used to come here in winter.
09:43Allah Almighty
09:45put the love of these
09:47tours in his heart.
09:49In Surah Al-Muzammil,
09:51Allah says,
09:53Some people are on a journey,
09:55on a business tour.
09:57Allah says,
09:59Even if they read a little,
10:01as much as is available,
10:03this is also a good deed.
10:05Allah has also mentioned
10:07that even if they read a little,
10:09this is also a good deed.
10:11Allah says,
10:13In Surah Adiyat,
10:15Allah says,
10:17That wealth is interpreted
10:19as good.
10:21In Surah Al-Jumuah,
10:23in Surah Al-Muzammil,
10:25Allah says,
10:27That wealth is interpreted
10:29as good.
10:31This is also a way
10:33to say,
10:35I live far away,
10:37the beggar is very careful.
10:39Allah says,
10:41Give me all the scorpions,
10:43the beggar will keep them for you.
10:45Allah says,
10:47Give the people a lesson
10:49of moderation and balance.
10:51The Holy Prophet
10:53used to be happy
10:55to see the companions.
10:57After the Fajr prayer,
10:59a companion came out
11:01and said,
11:03No, no,
11:05if you are going in a hurry
11:07in the morning,
11:09it is a blessing.
11:11Don't raise your hand
11:13in front of anyone.
11:15Serve your parents.
11:17This is the rising step
11:19of the path of Allah.
11:21Allah says,
11:23This is the one who does
11:25business, this is the one
11:27who travels.
11:29This is such a great
11:31path, such a great thing.
11:33And as you mentioned
11:35about the children,
11:37we can't say anything
11:39directly,
11:41but the Qur'an
11:43teaches us,
11:45the Holy Prophet
11:47teaches us,
11:49and the love of Allah
11:51for the Prophet
11:53to travel and sell
11:55wealth,
11:57the way of our
11:59lives,
12:01Allah has
12:03blessed us.
12:05Consider that
12:07a man is sitting
12:09on a small footpath
12:11and he is selling
12:13his house,
12:15he is a king,
12:17he is a businessman,
12:19and if he is a real
12:21businessman,
12:23he will be picked up
12:25on the Day of Judgment
12:27on the Day of Judgment.
12:29So if Allah and His Prophet
12:31are kept in account,
12:33this is the
12:35rising step of the path
12:37of Allah.
12:39This is the way
12:41through which you can
12:43do charity,
12:45look at the schools of religion,
12:47how many poor people
12:49and orphans,
12:51this is the system
12:53of Zakat,
12:55and after Zakat
12:57he will take out
12:59Zakat.
13:01So I think that
13:03the system of economy
13:05is the backbone of Islam
13:07and this is how
13:09nations are built.
13:11They say,
13:13don't give aid,
13:15give trade.
13:17This is what
13:19you will take all your life,
13:21if you want to do it.
13:23it's better to teach them how to catch fish.
13:26But we say, come and eat fish.
13:28He says, not fish, teach them how to catch fish.
13:30How did you catch it?
13:31I said, this is the thing.
13:33This is not the thing. I have forbidden it, I don't want to teach it.
13:35So, do this, teach people how to catch fish.
13:39Don't just feed them fish.
13:42It's not just about fish.
13:44Allama has said it in a very broad perspective.
13:47It's something to understand.
13:49Let's take a short break. We'll be back after the break.
13:53We'll be back after the break.
14:24If we look at the past,
14:25the business or trade canvass of the past is very limited.
14:33In today's world, business is such a big topic.
14:37And it's such a thing that if you look at children,
14:41you'll see them talking about some business.
14:46In fact, some children will say, we want to do this,
14:48and we have to do it, and many are doing it.
14:50So, people of all ages are drawn to business.
14:53It's a social media era, people have learned,
14:56and they have learned to move forward.
14:57So, the current business is a very vast field.
15:03We would like to know about this.
15:04Of course, there are matters of Hill and Haram.
15:06Our Shariah is Islamic.
15:07We will obviously keep in mind what we have been given.
15:10So, the principles and etiquette that the Quran and Hadith have laid out,
15:14we would like to know from Allama Hafiz Uwais Ahmed,
15:16in terms of business and trade.
15:20In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
15:21You have asked a very good question,
15:24what are the principles of trade and what are the etiquettes?
15:27Because the world believes in the principles and etiquettes of other things.
15:32What are the etiquettes of conversation,
15:33what are the etiquettes of meeting,
15:37but when it comes to money, they say, let it come as it is.
15:41The money should come.
15:42But this is the specialty of Islam,
15:45that the way it describes the principles of all aspects of life,
15:49it describes the etiquettes,
15:50it also tells us what is lawful in business,
15:54what is forbidden,
15:56what are the etiquettes, what are the principles.
15:58If you move forward in their light,
16:01then you will be a successful trader.
16:04And if you do not move forward in their light,
16:07then this trade will become a means to go to hell on the Day of Judgment.
16:11In other words, these principles and etiquettes have brought a trader to this position.
16:16There is a saying of a true trader,
16:18that he will be established in the court of prophets on the Day of Judgment.
16:22So his status is his success.
16:24And on the one hand, for which the Prophet said,
16:27that some traders are cursed.
16:29So these two differences have been established,
16:31that you will have to see from both sides,
16:33in which line you will stand.
16:36If you talk about the Holy Quran,
16:38then see, a common principle of the Holy Quran has stated,
16:41that you will not decrease in scale.
16:44Woe to those who reduce in weight.
16:46Those who increase in weight, they decrease in weight.
16:49And when they eat, or weigh, they reduce in weight.
16:52When they are taking, they take in full scale.
16:56And when they are giving, they reduce in weight.
17:00So the Quran says, Woe to those who reduce in weight.
17:02For such people, it is destruction,
17:05that they reduce in scale.
17:07This was also stated about other prophets,
17:09that they reduced in scale.
17:12They used to say this to their followers.
17:14When the Prophet came to Madinah,
17:17it was the custom of some people to do this.
17:20When this Surah was revealed to the Prophet,
17:23Woe to those who reduce in weight,
17:26then he abandoned this practice.
17:28Similarly, among the principles and etiquettes of trade and business,
17:33is that the thing you are selling,
17:35you should not only tell its quality,
17:37you should also tell its flaws.
17:40What is lacking in it, what is defective in it,
17:43what is its quality, you should tell all this.
17:46You cannot hide it.
17:48The Prophet has declared such a trader as Maloon.
17:51He is the one who hides the shortcomings of his product.
17:58When the Prophet used to go to the market,
18:02he used to emphasize this,
18:05that you should tell the shortcomings of things.
18:09And the incident of Imam Abu Hanifa,
18:12and the incident of the elders of the religion,
18:14that they never used such earnings,
18:17even if by mistake, they did not tell the shortcomings of anything.
18:22Similarly, among the principles and etiquettes of trade,
18:25is that you should not deceive anyone.
18:28The Prophet used to go to the market,
18:30and if someone has kept dry wheat on the top,
18:33and the wheat is hidden at the bottom,
18:37the Prophet used to say,
18:39he used to insert his fingers like this,
18:41and he used to lick it,
18:42and he used to say, who will show this?
18:44Who will tell this?
18:45So, the Prophet strictly forbade deceit,
18:49that you should not deceive anyone in any matter.
18:53And this is such a big principle,
18:55which exposes thousands of problems,
18:58which clarifies thousands of things,
19:01which corrects thousands of mistakes,
19:04that you should keep in mind,
19:05that you should not deceive anyone.
19:07A merchant is sitting in a shop,
19:09doing business,
19:10doing online business.
19:12In our society, it is said that if you place an order for something online,
19:15you will get something else.
19:17This is called deceit.
19:18So, if a trader learns even one etiquette,
19:23that he should not deceive anyone,
19:25then the business will keep improving in thousands of places,
19:29and the world will benefit from it.
19:30The Prophet gave such a strict order in his etiquette,
19:35that you can take the oath of Allah,
19:39but don't sit in a shop and show yourself to be very pious,
19:44that I am reciting Durood Sharif,
19:45I am reciting this, and you are doing the work wrong,
19:48or you are taking oaths.
19:50One is a false oath,
19:52and the other is to take more oaths,
19:54even if they are true.
19:55So, even if you take more oaths in business,
19:58the Prophet said,
19:59the one who takes more oaths,
20:01he destroys the blessings of his wealth.
20:04So, the use of this language in business,
20:08you should use it for your own benefit,
20:11and you can sell anything to people,
20:13this is also strictly forbidden.
20:15The standard of truth and falsehood in business is very important.
20:19The Prophet said,
20:20on the Day of Resurrection, all merchants will be held guilty,
20:24except the one who speaks the truth in his business.
20:27It is important to speak the truth.
20:28Similarly, don't make a deal on someone's deal.
20:31That is, at one place, the conversation is going on,
20:33and you called and messaged,
20:35that I will take this much.
20:38So, this is wrong,
20:39that you are harming someone,
20:42you are ending someone's deal,
20:43you are putting someone on the spot.
20:46The Prophet even forbade,
20:49that you don't spoil someone's deal,
20:52that you don't spoil someone's deal,
20:54and don't harm anyone.
20:56So, these are a few principles and etiquettes,
20:58that I have explained to you.
20:59If a merchant does business in their light,
21:01then he is successful,
21:03otherwise he is at a loss and at a loss.
21:05Very beautiful things have been said in this.
21:07Don't lie, don't adulterate,
21:10don't cheat,
21:12don't leg-polling,
21:15don't bypass others.
21:17The Quran and Hadith are telling us a very strict etiquette in business.
21:21If we keep this in mind,
21:23then how ideal a society can we form.
21:26But in our society, competition and the need for a solution,
21:29has increased so much,
21:31that it is permissible and not permissible, just let it come.
21:34So, this is why our situation looks bad.
21:36Otherwise, as I said, whether it is Ahad-e-Nabawi,
21:38or Ahad-e-Khulafah-e-Rashideen-al-Bahadeen,
21:41in fact, Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him,
21:44who is also called Umar-e-Sani,
21:45if you look at his time,
21:47you can see that Zakat,
21:49there were a lot of people who gave, but not a lot of people who took.
21:52The reason was,
21:53that they were so honest in their business,
21:55that Allah had blessed them.
21:58We will talk more about this on the topic of business.
22:00We have Hamdi Rabb-e-Jaleel with us.
22:01Sanaqa is present.
22:02We will present the gift of praise in the pure court of Allah.
22:47O' Karam, O' Karam,
22:50I plead with you,
22:59I plead with you,
23:07O' my Lord,
23:09O' my Lord,
23:14O' my Lord,
23:20O' my Lord,
23:28this earth and this sky,
23:37are in your control.
23:45You are the one who is kind to everyone.
23:52Where can we go from your door?
24:00You are the one who protects everyone.
24:05You are the one who listens to everyone's call.
24:13You are the one who keeps everyone's faith.
24:19O' my Lord,
24:23O' my Lord,
24:27O' my Lord,
24:34I have forgotten your story,
24:42which you have written in the Quran.
24:48Today, every door is like this,
24:55just like how a fight breaks out.
25:02You have made us your enemies,
25:09we have wronged ourselves.
25:16O' my Lord,
25:18O' my Lord,
25:23O' my Lord,
25:29O' my Lord,
25:32O' my Lord,
25:37O' my Lord,
25:44The helpless are given support,
25:52the lost are given shelter.
25:59When a storm rages from head to toe,
26:07if you are given a sign,
26:13if you do a favour,
26:19all sorrows will be gone.
26:26O' my Lord,
26:33O' my Lord,
26:40The helpless are given support,
26:48the lost are given shelter.
26:55All I have are tears in my eyes,
27:02purify my soul.
27:11Whenever I think of you,
27:19my eyes become teary.
27:26O' my Lord,
27:33O' my Lord,
27:40O' my Lord,
27:46O' my Lord,
27:53O' my Lord,
27:58O' my Lord.
