00:00A million pesos worth of smuggled cigarettes were found in a container van in Manila North Harbor.

00:05Here is my report.

00:11The Philippine Coast Guard has been monitoring these two container vans in Manila North Harbor for six days

00:16after receiving information that it may contain smuggled goods.

00:22As early as last week, we received information about alleged smuggled goods

00:28coming from Manila, coming from Sabuaga.

00:31So, our intel operatives targeted this and it arrived on Thursday.

00:37When opened, 80 boxes of cigarettes were found.

00:41One box contained 150 reams.

00:44According to the PCG, the consignee's declaration,

00:47the total value is three million pesos.

00:49But according to the Coast Guard,

00:51it is possible that a container van contained 15 million pesos.

00:55These are alleged Malaysian cigarettes.

00:58So, this is not ours.

01:00So, obviously, this is smuggled.

01:02Most probably, but we still have to conduct our investigation.

01:06The second container van has not yet been opened by the Customs and PCG

01:10because the consignee is still waiting for it to arrive.

01:13Aside from smuggling,

01:14the PCG is still studying if the owner of the container ship

01:18where the smuggled cigarettes were smuggled.

01:21The second one is a falsification of documents

01:24because in the cargo manifest, this is not there.

01:28So, it's good that with the help and with the determination of intel operatives,

01:34they were able to determine that there are two container vans

01:38that are not included in the cargo.
