00:00Update on the program of the Administration of Marcos, I'm here with Mr. President on the go.

00:25First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has signed a law that allows Filipinos to obtain a degree through non-traditional means.

00:38This is Republic Act No. 12124 or the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program.

00:47Through this law, Filipinos can complete their college education for their advancement, especially working professionals.

01:00The ETIAP will evaluate, validate, and assign equivalent undergraduate level and special graduate programs to students from formal, non-formal, and informal learning systems and working experiences for qualified individuals for obtaining appropriate academic degrees.

01:23The Commission on Higher Education is the lead agency in implementing the ETIAP.

01:28As part of the ETIAP, it will deputize higher education institutions to be open for the ETIAP.

01:35The standards will also be developed for the diversified mode of assessing skills, values, knowledge, and levels of competence, and granting and revoking the authority of the HEI to implement the ETIAP.

01:49The CHED will also monitor and evaluate the implementation of the ETIAP.

01:53Meanwhile, the Office of Programs and Standards Development under the CHED is the Permanent Technical Secretary.

02:00Filipino citizens living in the Philippines or abroad can apply for equivalency and accreditation if the requirements are met. Applicants must be at least 23 years old at the time of their application.

02:18Secondary school programs must be completed and the high school diploma or the result of the Philippine Educational Placement Test or Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency Assessment and Certification of an individual is qualified to enter college.

02:35There should also be at least five years of aggregate work experience in the industry that is related to the academic degree program that you are applying for.
