00:00Hi, this is Bhavna, and you're watching Good Attendance, Women's Day's special episode.
00:11Today we have a guest with us who is very inspiring and a powerhouse of creativity.
00:18She is the founder of Silk Yak, which makes scrap very special and beautiful.
00:25I'm talking about Nishtha Pandey, the founder of Silk Yak.
00:28Nishtha, thank you for coming to our show.
00:31The work you're doing is very impactful.
00:36We're all very excited to know your story.
00:40Let's get started.
00:42Silk Yak is a very unique initiative.
00:44How did you get the idea to start Silk Yak?
00:49What did you see or experience that made you pursue it?
00:56Nishtha, thank you for coming to our show.
00:59Thank you so much for inviting me, Bhavna.
01:01Let's get started.
01:03Silk Yak is a very unique initiative.
01:06How did you get the idea to start Silk Yak?
01:09What did you see or experience that made you pursue it?
01:18Bhavna, as you know, by education qualification, I'm an architect.
01:23We've been practicing in this field for so many years.
01:27We used to see that the waste that comes out of the construction site gets discarded.
01:35The first and foremost thing that came to my mind was
01:39I used to improvise and refurbish old furniture.
01:53My clients started pointing out to me that
02:09which is at sites and this needs to be managed.
02:12There is an untapped potential of discarded materials which very few people can analyze.
02:19That was the moment when I thought that this is the waste, this is the potential.
02:24If I combine this with the skilled artisans, it will be a very good match.
02:30That's how I made the sustainable shift from Silk Yak.
02:35Amazing.
02:37How is it exciting and challenging for you to turn scrap material into an art piece?
02:44I would like to understand the process of both.
02:47Sure. So basically, you know how much waste is there in the world right now.
02:52I don't think anyone needs to tell me the statistics.
02:56But still, the challenge is the reason of excitement of bringing waste to life.
03:03The best concept is that every scrap has its own story.
03:09Every scrap has its own texture, imperfection and history.
03:16You have to study it first and then you will never find two similar scraps.
03:22That is another very beautiful part about scrap which people feel is very difficult.
03:27But I feel that this is the reason of excitement that combining all the different pieces all together
03:33and then make a single installation or a single artwork or piecework out of it.
03:39It's really exciting.
03:41And when you combine this full aesthetics with certain kind of functionality,
03:46that is another level of achievement altogether.
03:51And finally, the first time when I did this in one of my projects,
03:56my client was like, this is not a general upcycling or recycling.
04:01This is art that you are creating.
04:04So yeah, that was kind of an excitement thing which actually got me into all this.
04:09And then the challenge, you know, when people say that this is scrap, this is garbage,
04:14throw it away.
04:17At that time, when such words and things come that you have to throw it away,
04:21that is a different challenge altogether.
04:24Because this is very small.
04:26The waste that we see in our lifestyle is our home produced waste, which is non-bio waste.
04:32We will discard it.
04:34There will be normal things in it.
04:35But when you come to industries, which are our major clients,
04:39tons of scrap comes out every year.
04:43Which is like really just put on a scrap yard.
04:52So yeah, that's the challenge, which is like finding beauty in the chaos.
04:56And that is what is something, you know, which is technically very challenging,
05:01but then it keeps us going.
05:03Nishtha, I would like to understand your products.
05:05What kind of products do you make from scrap and what kind of scrap do you use?
05:10Bhabra, basically our major clients are industries.
05:16Like power industries, thermal industries.
05:19Then you have basic office waste, like cooler type things.
05:25So what do these people generally do?
05:27They sell it for a few kilos.
05:29But what we do is, like we made a cooler scrap and converted it into a fountain.
05:34If you want, you can see it on our pages or somewhere.
05:37So we combined the pieces of the cooler and made it into a fountain.
05:45We assembled some discarded plyboards and their waste house and made a wall art,
05:49which is actually a CPU.
05:51Then we recycle plastic bottles into power banks and, you know, kind of small statues.
05:58So there are a lot of stuff which we are working with, except for non-bio waste.
06:03We are working, I am working into non-bio waste, which is not bio actually.
06:11So whatever waste is there, we are working on it.
06:14And we convert it and add technology to it.
06:19And finally, we deliver it as a product or as a space or maybe an art installation altogether.
06:26Very nice and very exciting.
06:36So we are continuously looking up for collaborations with industries.
06:40Already, Jharkhand and, let's say, Mumbai, then Delhi,
06:45we have worked with various companies, Taj Sayad, Startup Power, then Taj itself,
06:50Nikta is our brand, then Tavichaya Residency.
06:53There are various brands we have worked with, good brands.
06:56And we are looking for further expansions.
06:59We are already having a lot of projects in our pipeline.
07:02And yes, that is how we are going about it.
07:04Very nice.
07:05What is the vision of SkillYak and what is the most important value for you that you implement in your business?
07:11So see, basically, SkillYak has a tagline which says that,
07:14be the yak in the world of bulls.
07:16So, which talks about a kind of stability in itself, right?
07:21So, because you know who bulls are and you know what a yak is.
07:24So that's what we are trying to sustain.
07:26We are trying to tell people that waste is not a discarded thing, but it can be reimagined.
07:33Right?
07:34So, you can always transform scrap into some valuable products by empowering communities,
07:39environment and promoting the sustainable design.
07:42So, there are three E's we are working on, right?
07:45Which is empowerment, employment and environment.
07:48These are the three main things which we are working on.
07:51And this is the core value, which is like sustainability with purpose,
07:55which gives you sustainability in all these three fields.
07:58So, that's the vision we are working with.
08:00We want to reduce the waste.
08:01We want to empower people.
08:03And we want to deliver aesthetic and functional value products.
08:06So, that's how it is coming out.
08:08And I would say that it's more about changing the mindset,
08:12not really, you know, just making the products like other companies
08:16and not just, you know, launching something new in the market.
08:19But it is also about changing the mindset,
08:21because waste generally is considered to be a real discarded material,
08:25but then nobody knows what potential it has.
08:28Very well said.
08:29Nisha, what does it mean for you to be a woman entrepreneur?
08:34And as a woman entrepreneur,
08:36have you faced any challenges like this,
08:39when you felt that no, now I have to give up, I have to quit,
08:44I can't do it anymore.
08:46And when such a situation happened to you,
08:48how did you tackle it?
08:50How did you handle it?
08:52Susi, we have developed a lot in India.
08:57A lot of norms have been made in many places.
08:59A lot of policies have also come for women entrepreneurs.
09:02Things have been helpful.
09:03But then being a woman entrepreneur,
09:06and especially in the upcycling and sustainability industry,
09:10it's a little tough,
09:12which is just not about the business.
09:14It's about challenging the norms.
09:16We are breaking barriers here.
09:18If you will see, this industry majorly has a male-dominant facade earlier,
09:23especially when I talk about the waste management and designing industry.
09:27So it was not at all easy.
09:29In fact, at certain places,
09:31even if I'm a female, people call me male, sir.
09:35They call me sir.
09:36So, which is very unusual to me,
09:38and I feel a bit weird about it.
09:40But then I think, okay, slowly,
09:43even if they call me sir, but I'm working.
09:46So there is an acceptance that has not yet come into society
09:51that females can also come in this position,
09:53break the stereotypes,
09:55balance out everything,
09:57business, profession, passion, responsibility,
10:00females can also perform by balancing everything.
10:02But we are doing that.
10:04And there has been a lot of times, Bhavna.
10:06It doesn't happen that there is a particular phase
10:09in which you feel that you should give up.
10:12It always comes because you are an entrepreneur.
10:14You are starting up a business.
10:16You are handling so many things together.
10:18So this will happen many times in your life.
10:20Maybe it will come once when you are just starting
10:23and you are told to suppress in the beginning.
10:26Or when you will start your own family,
10:28when you are going to have a kid,
10:30then when you are going to implement a new idea
10:32in your business altogether.
10:33No, this is working, now let's scale up.
10:36There are some experiments that you have to do
10:39while scaling up.
10:40So at that time too, things, challenges come.
10:43But how I handle it is very simple.
10:46I definitely prioritize my efficiency.
10:48Where I can delegate efficiently
10:52and where I can deliver is very important.
10:55And it is very important that you
10:57approach your phase-wise growth.
11:00So you should always focus on your phase-wise growth.
11:03It is not about that throughout the life
11:04how you are going to do it.
11:05No, it is about the phase you are living in.
11:07It is about the work you are doing right now.
11:09And always build a great support system for yourself.
11:14These are the three things which I have always taken care of
11:17when it comes to balancing business with society.
11:22So if these three things are perfect,
11:24which is prioritizing efficiency,
11:26then you are focusing on the phase growth.
11:28And third is building a proper support system around you.
11:32I feel you will be able to do well.
11:35And how do you balance your professional and personal life?
11:38So frankly, there is no work-life balance for an entrepreneur.
11:42Because they don't have a 9-to-5 job.
11:45And their mind is always busy.
11:48At least it happens with me.
11:50I feel that maybe I can relate to other entrepreneurs at this time.
11:54And it is not about being male or female at this time.
11:57But then it is about the mindset.
11:59So see, it is just that whenever you want to spend time with your family
12:04and whenever you are with them,
12:06just spend quality time.
12:07Give the most of it to them.
12:10When you will be able to give, that is how you will be able to receive.
12:13Because we are also humans.
12:15So we also need an emotional mindset and an emotional balance.
12:19We will get it only when we can deliver it in a way.
12:24So I feel carrying empathy with everyone around.
12:27Let it be your work-life, professionally.
12:30Or let it be your personal life.
12:32I feel this is very important that you empathize with things very well.
12:36I have understood your business, Nishtha.
12:38Here we can say a fusion of sustainability and creativity.
12:44When you were integrating it in the beginning,
12:47how did you manage it?
12:49And how do you work on balancing both?
12:53So I am balancing a kind of design thinking,
12:56which I would say is the right term to it.
13:00And then we are balancing out sustainability also with it.
13:04So balancing design thinking was not a problem in the beginning.
13:08Because my work has been like this.
13:12I have been into architecture since 13 years in the field.
13:16And even before that, I was into the same field.
13:19We were able to create empathy and deliver projects.
13:23Even now, we are doing architectural and interior and other designing projects.
13:27By Masters, I am a product designer.
13:29So the thing is that it has been there from the beginning.
13:33So design thinking was never an issue.
13:35Combining it with sustainability by studying the material science was an issue.
13:40But then it balanced out.
13:42Because I think that if you have an open mindset
13:45and you always know how to unlearn something,
13:49then I feel it becomes very easy for you to learn something new and adapt to it.
13:56So I did a very simple thing.
13:59Wash off your previous learning.
14:01First, unlearn and then receive the new things.
14:05And then combine your old experiences with it.
14:11So I feel you can get very productive things out of it.
14:14And it is also very creative.
14:16So this was your business learning.
14:19If I talk about your entrepreneurship journey,
14:22what have you learned on a personal level?
14:26On a personal level, I have learned a few things.
14:29The answer to more than half of the things is peace.
14:34Whenever a challenge comes up in your life,
14:38it is not that you need to respond to it at that very moment.
14:42Maybe you should think about it.
14:44Plan a process. Do proper planning.
14:46Strategize it and then take the action.
14:49So these are the things that I have learned from my professional field.
14:53I have also applied it personally.
14:55And I feel that if you apply it to every process and every relationship,
15:03it is very helpful.
15:05Plus, your workflow becomes clear when it comes to your personal life also.
15:12Because then you know how disciplined you have to be.
15:15How organized you have to be.
15:17Are you doing the right thing?
15:20In entrepreneurship, everything is first made a prototype.
15:26If the prototype testing is done correctly,
15:28only then will we go to the final product.
15:30So that is also something that we have implemented in our personal life.
15:36Try it first and see if it will work or not.
15:40So that is something which is really a solution to a lot of things in my life.
15:45And I have been following it very rigorously.
15:48Nisha, you have a family.
15:50So I would like to know what is your daily routine?
15:55When do you wake up? When do you sleep?
15:57What are the activities you do throughout the day?
15:59Looking after your family, coordinating with your team,
16:03coordinating with your clients.
16:05How busy is your routine?
16:08A lot.
16:09If you will see through it, it is a lot.
16:13So I generally get up around 5.30-6.
16:18And then the day starts.
16:22So I have to get up.
16:24I will give some time to my basic everyday exercise routine.
16:28And then I have to do meditation.
16:30It is a very important part of my life.
16:32Without meditation, I cannot survive.
16:34Because actually it gives me a focus.
16:36It gives me the energy to run the whole day.
16:41So I do that.
16:42Then I love cooking.
16:44I love to cook.
16:46I love to cook as well as to eat as you can see.
16:48So I cook myself.
16:51And then my daughter goes to school obviously.
16:56And we have to go to office.
16:57So by 9 it is like that we have to leave the house.
17:00And my breakfast, lunch and everything is prepared.
17:02Packed in the tiffin.
17:03And then we leave for the office.
17:05We go to the studio and do our work.
17:07Everyone has the same day.
17:10So we work around the full day.
17:12But we make sure that we spend minimum of half an hour with our team.
17:22In which we can actually relate to them.
17:24What is going on in their life also.
17:26It is not that we just go to the office and start working.
17:28No.
17:29Because for a person who is working in a field like this.
17:34Everyone should be on the same page.
17:36If we are not, it is very difficult to work in a field like this.
17:39Because you know how much of a creativity and how much of patience is required in it.
17:43So for that we are all on the same page.
17:46We don't have any problem.
17:47So it is more like a family in our studio.
17:50Than actually just the work-work relationship.
17:52And post that I get free around 6.30-7.
17:55Getting free is leaving office.
17:57Not getting free from work.
17:58So leaving the studio or office whatever you call it.
18:01Is by like 6.30-7.
18:03Then we get back home.
18:05We spend some time.
18:06Go for a walk.
18:07And then sleep.
18:08I am an early sleeper.
18:10But I am an early riser also.
18:12So 5.30 is something I get up.
18:14But before that in general.
18:16I wake up at 2.30 or 3 in the night.
18:18At least once.
18:19And I just you know.
18:20Now it is in my habit that.
18:22I will just recall everything what I did yesterday.
18:24And what I need to plan for the next day.
18:26So it gives me a great energy for the full day to work on.
18:31Nishtha you told us that you are a mother.
18:33You also have a daughter.
18:35So what is the reaction of your daughter.
18:39When she sees that you are an entrepreneur.
18:43You are busy with your work.
18:44So when you have to give time to your daughter.
18:47So how do you spend time with your daughter?
18:51So we have made days in the week Bhavna.
18:53What we do is like.
18:55Saturdays are meant for.
18:56Saturday is a movie day for us.
18:58So whatever happens.
18:59No matter where am I.
19:01Where my husband is.
19:02Where she is.
19:03We will all be together at that time.
19:05We will watch a movie together.
19:07We will then discuss about it.
19:08What was good.
19:09What was bad.
19:10What was good.
19:11What was right.
19:12And then we are going to spend time on Saturdays.
19:14Sundays are meant for full family.
19:17We also have a dog.
19:18So we spend full day.
19:21Sundays are considered to be family days.
19:23But then I am working with it.
19:24So she always has this question.
19:26Of course as a kid.
19:27Mom you are always working.
19:31You are always in your phone or something.
19:33So she knows that.
19:35But now since she is this old.
19:37And she has seen people around her.
19:39So now she has this understanding.
19:41That if I am working.
19:43So I will spend 110% more time with her.
19:47When I am with her.
19:48So you know.
19:49I have always been like this.
19:50The point of dedication you give to the child.
19:54When you are with him.
19:56That is more important.
19:58Instead of being with him all the time.
20:00I don't think so.
20:02Even in our age.
20:04When we were kids.
20:05Our parents must have been with us all the time.
20:08I don't think so.
20:10That was a set of time only.
20:11At that time females were either busy in the kitchen.
20:14Or somewhere else.
20:15But then she used to sit with us only in the time of teaching.
20:18Now I feel.
20:19It is not just the time of teaching.
20:21It is the time you spend with your kid.
20:23And how much are you really enjoying.
20:26And how much they are enjoying it with you.
20:28So I will give you a good example.
20:31So when Radhya was just born.
20:34She was like.
20:35I think she was just 2 years.
20:36Radhya is my daughter's name.
20:37So when she was just 2 years.
20:39People told me a taunt comment.
20:44I started passing it.
20:46That this is a licensed mother.
20:48Certificate mother.
20:50Because on birth certificate.
20:52I am Radhya's mother.
20:53But then maximum time.
20:55Either she is with her grandmother.
20:58Or she is with her grandmother.
21:00So they were taking care of her.
21:02Because obviously.
21:04I have a travelling job.
21:06And I have things in which I need to see to other things.
21:09And if you are not making anything.
21:11Then it is not easy.
21:13That you leave it in the middle.
21:14And you start.
21:15This is how.
21:16As I said earlier.
21:17That you need to mark your priority.
21:19If you don't mark the priority.
21:21I am not saying.
21:22That you leave the child at home.
21:23Then also spend more time.
21:25But our basic mindset.
21:27This is what Celia is doing.
21:29I am telling you.
21:30Basic mindset.
21:31That if you have a child.
21:32Then you have to be with the child all the time.
21:34This does not happen.
21:35I have given her 1-1.5 years.
21:37Gave her well.
21:38But after that.
21:39Now I know that.
21:40Now I need to step out.
21:41Otherwise.
21:42This is a kind of love.
21:43A mother and a kid's love.
21:45This is a kind of love.
21:47You will never feel.
21:48That you can give 100% of yourself.
21:50To your child.
21:51Because you will never be able to do that.
21:53Because you have so much love for your child.
21:55So slowly.
21:56You have to manage.
21:58You have to take out efficiency.
21:59I had lots of.
22:01What should I say.
22:02Crying nights.
22:04That I am not able to do this.
22:05Sometimes.
22:06Guilt conscious also wakes up.
22:07That they are doing wrong.
22:08If they are not doing.
22:09Now it feels.
22:11Because now people ask me.
22:13What do you give to your child?
22:15That she is all the time around you.
22:17And she will not do anything without you.
22:19And whatever.
22:20But then.
22:21This was a breaking barrier.
22:22In my life.
22:23A very important point.
22:24Where I had taken this stand with great difficulty.
22:27And I kept on working.
22:29Listening to nonsense around me.
22:31But.
22:32Because of a very supportive family.
22:34I was able to do it.
22:35I wanted to ask you the same question.
22:38When you were starting your journey of entrepreneurship.
22:41So.
22:42I am also a woman.
22:44So.
22:45I can also relate to this.
22:47When you do your work.
22:48So.
22:49From the society around you.
22:51All our viewers.
22:52Our female viewers.
22:53We have been raised in such a way.
22:55That we are told.
22:57That your work.
22:59And.
23:00In your family.
23:02You have to keep it balanced.
23:04And your family is more important.
23:06And sometimes.
23:07Nowadays.
23:08A lot of time has changed.
23:10Nowadays.
23:11There is no such time.
23:12Everyone's mindset has changed.
23:13But.
23:14Somewhere.
23:15A lack of support.
23:16If we see from the earlier times.
23:17There was a lack of support somewhere.
23:19Now you take care of the house.
23:21So.
23:22Your society wise.
23:23Your family wise.
23:24Your husband wise.
23:25How much support did you get.
23:27When you were starting your journey.
23:29Or you had started your journey.
23:31And now you were expanding it.
23:33So.
23:34My family.
23:35Both my in-laws.
23:36And my native family.
23:37Both of them have always supported me.
23:39I was a free bird.
23:41And I am still a free bird.
23:43In that matter.
23:44I would say.
23:45And I am lucky to be like that.
23:46If it is about the.
23:48Societal perceivance.
23:49We are talking.
23:50So.
23:51I think it has been very good for me.
23:53And.
23:54As far as.
23:55When I started this.
23:56So frankly.
23:57My husband only told me.
23:58This thing.
23:59He made me realize this thing.
24:00That.
24:01Nishtha.
24:02Job.
24:03You won't be able to do it.
24:04Because.
24:05You know.
24:06You have a kind of mindset.
24:07Which.
24:08Generally people.
24:09Don't have it.
24:10You know.
24:11The kind of creativity.
24:12You know.
24:13Because I.
24:14Obviously.
24:15I worked as a job person as well.
24:16So.
24:17He was the one who made me realize.
24:18That this is not.
24:19Just the thing you are doing.
24:20Start working.
24:21So.
24:22I have always had family support.
24:23But then.
24:24It is just about.
24:25About the support.
24:26You know.
24:27Feeling.
24:28I mean.
24:29Some people get support.
24:30Some people don't.
24:31But they are extremely.
24:32Talented.
24:33Yes.
24:34They have to.
24:35Come out of that shell.
24:36They have to break it.
24:37It's not like.
24:38I got everything.
24:39I mean.
24:40The plate was decorated.
24:41But.
24:42I have done it in many places.
24:43I have been rebellious.
24:44On some things.
24:45And.
24:46I have stepped out of some places.
24:47But then you know.
24:48What is important.
24:49Overall.
24:50I will tell you.
24:51And.
24:52This is something.
24:53I really need to.
24:54Pass as a message to every woman.
24:55Who wants to.
24:56Be someone.
24:57Let it be.
24:58If you don't want to work.
24:59It is okay.
25:00Even if you want to be a.
25:01Homemaker.
25:02Then also.
25:03I feel.
25:04That we.
25:05You know.
25:06We get taken aback.
25:07When we seek out perfection.
25:08Our.
25:09Everyone's issue is.
25:10That.
25:11Whatever role.
25:12We are playing.
25:13That role play.
25:14Should be perfect.
25:15I mean.
25:16There shouldn't be any shortcomings in it.
25:17We don't find shortcomings.
25:18The people around us find shortcomings.
25:19So.
25:20The people around us.
25:21Will never be satisfied.
25:22With everything.
25:23It's not like.
25:24Everyone likes ice cream.
25:25People like different flavors of ice cream.
25:26So.
25:27When it comes to it.
25:28So.
25:29I just feel that.
25:30You should always know.
25:31What is your strength.
25:32You should always know.
25:33Where you can progress.
25:34Instead of.
25:35Looking for perfection.
25:36In the field.
25:37Getting my point.
25:38So.
25:39I mean.
25:40It's not like.
25:41You will always find things.
25:42Right.
25:43Or perfect.
25:44Even as a homemaker.
25:45It is not easy to be a homemaker.
25:46Also.
25:47Because then.
25:48You have.
25:49People have different kind of.
25:50You know.
25:51Expectations out of you.
25:52People will expect.
25:53Something else from you.
25:54That you do this best.
25:55That you do that best.
25:56All your kids.
25:57Should be from IIT.
25:58And IIMs.
25:59Because.
26:00You give all your time.
26:01To your kids.
26:02So.
26:03You know.
26:04So.
26:06So.
26:07You know.
26:08Do not.
26:09Work on the basis.
26:10Of what people are saying.
26:11Just look at it.
26:12That you did your 100%.
26:13That's it.
26:14So.
26:15I feel.
26:16If that happens properly.
26:17Then it's fine.
26:18And if.
26:19You fail somewhere.
26:20Then normalize the failure.
26:21As a part of your growth.
26:22It's not necessary.
26:23We all are humans.
26:24We all make mistakes.
26:25We all make mistakes.
26:26And at times.
26:27It happens.
26:28That sometimes.
26:29You can't do it.
26:30You can't do anything.
26:31So.
26:32Just.
26:33Look at it.
26:34As a part of your growth.
26:35It's not necessary.
26:36You can't do it.
26:37You can't do anything.
26:38So.
26:39Just normalize it.
26:40Because.
26:41This was supposed to be done.
26:42Maybe we are.
26:43Supposed to do something better out of it.
26:44Not this.
26:45But then better.
26:46So.
26:47These two things are very important.
26:48Third.
26:49Which maximum ladies don't do.
26:50Which I feel is.
26:51You should always learn.
26:52How to negotiate.
26:53And advocate yourself.
26:54If you feel anywhere.
26:55That what is happening for you.
26:56That according to you.
26:57Or according to someone else.
26:58It's not right.
26:59So.
27:00Try.
27:01Speak for yourself.
27:02When you need something.
27:03Speak for yourself.
27:04These are very important things.
27:05Which you know.
27:06We generally lack out.
27:07No.
27:08It's okay.
27:09Let's do it.
27:10Next time.
27:11No.
27:12It's okay.
27:13It happened.
27:14Okay.
27:15We'll see next time.
27:16No.
27:17No.
27:18Not next time.
27:19At least.
27:20Don't fight.
27:21But just speak out.
27:22If you feel.
27:23Something is not right.
27:24You should speak at that time.
27:25So.
27:26These are three very important things.
27:27Which.
27:28One.
27:29Your self-doubt.
27:30It breaks it.
27:31When it comes to it.
27:32I think.
27:33Maximum.
27:34All the females.
27:35Women.
27:36Whatever field they are into.
27:37Those people.
27:38Can't voice out.
27:39And maybe.
27:40Can't move forward.
27:41So.
27:42I really want that.
27:43These three things should be there.
27:44As a suggestion.
27:45Very right.
27:46Nisha.
27:47What is more important for you?
27:48Your employee satisfaction.
27:49Or the client satisfaction.
27:50So.
27:51See.
27:52Client.
27:53Satisfaction.
27:54Is the most.
27:55Important.
27:56But.
27:57I definitely.
27:58Balance that out.
27:59With my employees also.
28:00Because.
28:01There is a way to do it.
28:02Now.
28:03I have a way for that also.
28:04So.
28:05What you do is that.
28:06If you need.
28:07That your client should be happy.
28:08You need to.
28:09That you need to.
28:10Do things according to them.
28:11No.
28:12You need to give them a perfect thing.
28:13Just say.
28:14Again.
28:15Perfect.
28:16But.
28:17According.
28:18To.
28:19Invest.
28:20Maximum.
28:21Of the clients.
28:22They are good.
28:23And.
28:24So.
28:25I don't think.
28:26So.
28:27There is any way.
28:28To do it.
28:29Now.
28:30So.
28:31I don't think.
28:32So.
28:33There is any problem with it.
28:34But then.
28:35Employee.
28:36Satisfaction.
28:37Job.
28:38When they feel.
28:39That they are not.
28:40Either.
28:41Paid well.
28:42And.
28:43But.
28:44Client.
28:45So.
28:46It's very.
28:47Simple.
28:48Don't make them.
28:49Face.
28:50Such situations.
28:51In front of your.
28:52Clients.
28:53And.
28:54Always.
28:55As.
28:56I said.
28:57Because.
28:58We.
28:59Take.
29:00Time.
29:01Out.
29:02Every.
29:03Day.
29:04That.
29:05Employees.
29:06Care.
29:07And.
29:08Financially.
29:09I don't think.
29:10So.
29:11Uh.
29:12Uh.
29:13Uh.
29:14Uh.
29:15Uh.
29:16Uh.
29:17Uh.
29:18Uh.
29:19Uh.
29:20Uh.
29:21Uh.
29:22Uh.
29:23Uh.
29:24Uh.
29:25Uh.
29:26People.
29:27Uh.
29:29Get mad.
29:30I Miller.
29:31Learned this.
29:32Language.
29:33I learned these from.
29:34Uh.
29:35Some.
29:36Oh.
29:37Uh.
29:38Uh.
29:39Uh.
29:40Uh.
29:41Uh.
29:42Uh.
29:43Uh.
29:44Uh.
29:45Uh.
29:46Uh.
29:47When I talked about.
29:48Uh.
29:49Uh.
29:50In fact, my.
29:51Masters.
29:52people started appreciating us.
29:56And the first time when I made a cultural installation
30:00and projected it in front of my client,
30:03and when they saw it, they were speechless.
30:07I can't copy that expression right now,
30:11but their expression at that time and the way they looked at it,
30:15we can never imagine in our entire life.
30:19It's not that because we are not from the creative field.
30:22Even if we are from the creative field,
30:24there are a lot of people who came and saw that.
30:27But then it happened.
30:29There is one thing that I think you all must have seen.
30:32There was a chandelier in Bulbulai 2,
30:34which falls from above and breaks the floor below.
30:37This is the scene of Kartik Aryan.
30:39And thousands come out of it.
30:41So that chandelier is made by us.
30:44Oh my God!
30:46Wow!
30:48So we got this requirement.
30:50The shooting was getting done in Rajasthan.
30:52So we got this requirement that we need to have a chandelier
30:56whose design is such that it looks royal.
30:59And when it falls, the floor should break.
31:03Right? But it shouldn't break.
31:05So we did a lot of experimentation.
31:08We saw a lot of things.
31:09Then I said, no, we won't make it with fresh items.
31:12Since our purpose is to upcycle everything.
31:16So we combined the old street lights and lamps of Rajasthan.
31:25There is a street in Jaipur called Thatero.
31:28There is a market of utensils.
31:30Where you can adopt these things and get them made.
31:34I went there.
31:35I got it all composed by the local artisans there.
31:39We made two pieces in one place.
31:41And we showed it to them.
31:42They loved it.
31:43And finally that scene happened.
31:45So this is how.
31:46But if I tell this whole story to someone,
31:48that for such a difficult scene of a few seconds,
31:52so much effort was put in to make something like this.
31:55Most people won't know.
31:57Because they won't narrate it.
31:58And when COVID came,
32:00their team setup changed.
32:03But by then the scene had been shot.
32:05So the scene was there in the movie.
32:06So what do you think, Nishtha,
32:08what is the most important thing for women entrepreneurs today?
32:15And which can make any women entrepreneur's journey successful.
32:20See, I feel that for women entrepreneurs,
32:23which is very important,
32:24we think a lot.
32:25I don't know about males,
32:27but I seriously feel that 90% of females are over thinkers.
32:34So I feel that they will keep thinking,
32:36that I have to start today, I have to start today.
32:38Please, by the time you feel ready,
32:41it will be too late.
32:42Please start before you feel you are ready.
32:44So there is no perfect moment,
32:47that I will work at this time.
32:50If my child grows up, then I will do it.
32:53Or if my husband gets a job there,
32:56it will be a good city.
32:57So I think I will do it then.
32:59Please do not wait for a moment.
33:01Because the day you realize that you need this thing,
33:05please just go for it.
33:06Just believe in your vision and go for it.
33:08That is what I would like to say.
33:11And even when I feel,
33:13when you are not working for anything,
33:17always build a nice network around it.
33:20Network is just not for business moves.
33:23Sometimes it is also required
33:25when you are with like-minded people.
33:28Because like-minded people will always push you to grow.
33:31If they are not there,
33:32they will put four more negative doubts in your mind,
33:35they will do things that will cause problems.
33:37So always build a very nice network around you
33:41and always speak for yourself.
33:43Nishtha, this episode that we are doing,
33:46this Women's Day Special.
33:48So what do you think,
33:49this special day of Women's Day,
33:52what is the significance of it in your life
33:55and how should it be celebrated?
33:58First of all,
33:59I think every year a milestone is created for everything.
34:03So all these days,
34:05in fact even your birthday,
34:07this is how you calculate one year of your life, right?
34:10Just like this,
34:11we take out our day every day.
34:13But these days are like reminders.
34:17What should you do special in Women's Day?
34:21Every day is Women's Day,
34:23every day is Monday.
34:24There is no such issue.
34:25But the thing is,
34:26these are just to make you realize
34:28that there are more opportunities for you around.
34:32That's why maximum you will see on this day,
34:34a lot of policies are taken out.
34:36A lot of events are done at many places
34:38where females can get more insight
34:41that what all they can do.
34:43A lot of meaningful agendas are passed.
34:46If you don't do anything,
34:48at least share stories,
34:49which you are already doing
34:50by sharing my story with other people.
34:53So just share stories and highlight
34:56how female pioneers and platforms can be created.
35:00Where people can come up,
35:02speak up,
35:03probably talk about themselves
35:05and share their stories.
35:06So I feel,
35:08already speaking up with people
35:11who are at some level,
35:12even I am not at that great level,
35:14but then,
35:15yes, I will be going further only.
35:17But at whatever level they are,
35:19share their stories,
35:20talk to them,
35:21promote each other.
35:23And as much as possible,
35:25if you think any opportunity is not fit for you
35:27and you think it is fit for some other female,
35:29then please share it.
35:30Because when everyone grows,
35:32only then we can grow.
35:33Most important thing is that
35:35one woman always needs the support of another woman.
35:39That is very, very important.
35:41Whether it is your mother,
35:42your friend,
35:43your colleague.
35:46Now this is my last question to you.
35:49The young women
35:51who want to start their business journey,
35:54who want to become entrepreneurs,
35:55what are your tips for them?
35:58What will be your advice
36:00that you have learnt in your journey,
36:02that you have experienced?
36:03Yes, so here Bhavna,
36:05I will share a negative part of my experience with you.
36:09That, you know,
36:10financial knowledge is very important.
36:13What we don't really look into.
36:15I mean,
36:16I felt at one place that
36:18I had no idea about some things financially.
36:20Otherwise,
36:21I would have gone two steps further.
36:23Or I would have done it better.
36:25Or maybe I would have invested.
36:27I would have got the return.
36:29So I really feel because
36:31there are a lot of...
36:32When I started,
36:34at that time,
36:35internet was not that,
36:37you know,
36:38full with knowledge.
36:39These days,
36:40internet,
36:41then you have proper counsellors,
36:43you have professionals
36:44who actually guide you about
36:45how you should use your finances,
36:47how you should make them,
36:48you know,
36:49go in the right direction.
36:50So I feel that financial knowledge
36:52is a very important factor,
36:54which every female,
36:56let it be entrepreneurs,
36:57let it be homemakers,
36:58let it be anyone
36:59in this world
37:00is important for them.
37:01So,
37:02please look into it.
37:03And another very important thing is that
37:05always adapt and innovate.
37:07So,
37:08it is possible that
37:09you thought of a product today.
37:11Let's say I thought of a soap
37:13that I have to work on this soap today.
37:15It's a rose soap
37:17and it is good
37:18and it has these qualities.
37:19And it is possible that
37:20that soap is already launched in the market
37:22and before you think,
37:23you should not take yourself back.
37:25You innovate it.
37:27You know,
37:28maybe add glycerin to it
37:29or whatever is a good factor,
37:31which will make it a better product.
37:33So always learn to adapt and innovate.
37:35Don't take yourself back
37:37just because that has been already done.
37:39You never know that
37:40your research and your work
37:42can actually help things
37:44go in a better way
37:45and can be really useful
37:47to people around.
37:49And
37:50the most important thing,
37:51which I would like to
37:53pass on as a message is that
37:55always try working for impact.
37:58Don't always work for profits.
38:00Because
38:01as much as impact is necessary,
38:03as much as purpose-driven
38:04any business should be,
38:05as much as you take from the community,
38:07you have to return it back.
38:09So,
38:10and it is not in the,
38:11you know,
38:12when I say
38:13in the matter of money
38:15or materialistic,
38:16it can be impact-driven.
38:18It can be,
38:19as I said,
38:20that Kiliak is more about
38:22you know,
38:23changing the mindsets.
38:24So that is what we are doing.
38:25And I feel
38:26when you are able to create
38:27an impression
38:28mentally on someone,
38:30you will remember that impression
38:31lifelong.
38:32And I think
38:33that is more important
38:34than any amount
38:35or any profit
38:36because
38:37the one who will be impacted
38:38will talk about it
38:39to 5 more people.
38:41And the business
38:42that one person can give you
38:43you will get it from 5 people.
38:45So that in itself
38:46is a kind of multiplication.
38:48So always
38:49try to create an impact
38:50instead of
38:51you know,
38:52making profits.
38:53Obviously,
38:54profit should be there
38:55but not that way.
38:56Very nice.
38:57Amazing.
38:58Your journey is
38:59full of hard work
39:00and passion.
39:02And
39:04I felt something
39:05after talking to you
39:06that
39:07whatever you have learnt
39:08in this journey
39:09you have become
39:10so patient
39:12that
39:13your business
39:14your company
39:15has reached new heights.
39:17You are patient
39:18about anything
39:19and you are
39:20never giving up.
39:22Which is very important.

39:25talking to you Nishtha.

39:35some people
39:36get inspired
39:37from my story
39:38and maybe
39:39they start up
39:40with something
39:41of their own very soon.
