00:00Good morning, making your favorite sweet potato.
00:23Good morning guys.
00:24It was an early morning today.
00:26Tate wanted to wake up at like 5.50 this morning.
00:31So we had a little bit of an early start.
00:34So our schedule is looking a little different today.
00:37We've been experimenting with foods with him and stuff
00:39and we're figuring out like what he loves
00:41and what he doesn't like.
00:43Sweet potato, high on the list, loves it.
00:46Banana, low on the list, which is surprising to me.
00:50He doesn't, he just, he just doesn't like it.
00:53He's just not into it, which, okay.
00:56Don't know if he likes it.
00:58I know he just doesn't like it.
01:00But I might have him drink the whole thing though.
01:02So, Anyone in the comments,
01:05if you don't like sweet potato,
01:06let me know what you think.
01:08I want to see what you think.
01:10I'll see you next time.
01:11Bye.
01:12Bye.
01:15What are you doing?
01:16Oh, good morning, going for a walk.
01:20I see that you and Tate are going for a walk.
01:23Yum. Are you almost ready to go? Yeah? It's been so good that I jumped in the bath and
01:45changed my clothes, which is so amazing. Because today's kind of like our reset day. Today's
01:51Monday. So I want to blow through the house and clean. And I cleaned really well right
01:56when I got here, but now, you know, we've been here for a little bit. Wash the sheets.
02:00Just do like a reset. And also, first, we're going to take a trip into town. I have a little
02:09bit of trim that I need to pick up from Lowe's. That little trim that I got for the transom
02:14windows, but I'm like one piece short for the back side, for the closet side. So I'm
02:19going to get some more of that and probably quite a few more because now I can count
02:23how many transom windows I need to build, which are one, two, three, four more. Four
02:33more transom windows for the house. Get enough trim to do all of them. So I already have
02:38it and I'm going to run to the store and we're going to get him some few things. Didn't bring
02:42any of his like food utensils. So he's just been making a mess. Like I didn't bring a
02:48bib or a spoon. We only had one set in LA and I was like, oh, I'm not going to bring
02:52this one. I'll just get another one. And we just haven't. He's just been making a mess
02:56of his clothes and a mess of everything. And then it'll be a little later and I can drop
03:01him at my mom's for a few hours while I work. I have some computer work that I need to take
03:06care of. So we'll do that today. And then tomorrow diving back into the next phase of
03:11the bathroom, which is going to be like around the tub area. You ready to go on an adventure?
03:18You want to go on an adventure? Oh, you took off your sock again. Oh, you told her out.
03:27It's also a little mini project on our list today. I have to fix that drawer. I don't
03:31know if you guys noticed it when I was filming in here last vlog that I took it out. Something
03:35fell behind it. I took it out. And then when I was trying to put it back in, it kept slipping
03:40off the track. And for the life of me, I could not get it to stay. I think it's a little
03:45bit. The drawer is just that much too narrow to where it now it's just, it's just slipping.
03:52I don't know how I got it perfect the first time, but I need to build out the side a little
03:56bit. It's a super simple fix and I just need to do it. I got frustrated. It wouldn't stay
04:00and I just like push it back in there and it was crooked. And now I'm like, okay, I'll
04:03get to you later. Okay, we're on our way. I'm actually going to go scoop up my mom.
04:07I called her and she needs to drop some stuff off like in town. We try and make the most
04:13of every trip because it's not super close by, not down the street, you know, so might
04:19as well just like make a run together and do our errands. How would he get that?
04:28Promotes self-feeding.
04:33And we need you a little bib.
04:35Guys, made it back. It was misty, overcast, raining. Now it's sunny and the most intense
04:51winds. I just now a tree fell. I'll show you. It actually feels like it's going to pick up
04:59the house. Like it sounds so loud. And I went outside to the car to get the bags. I had to
05:04turn around. I couldn't even close the door. It was so strong. The weather is like all over the
05:12place here. Anyways, we made it back and I got, so I was just washing the baby some kind of new
05:16stuff. I just got it in the, one of those little silicone bibs. They only had green. I thought
05:22it was there. I was like, maybe I should have just ordered something online. You know, I could
05:26have, but they had green. I was like, well, it could be worse. My mom was like, could it? I was
05:31like, so I got him that. And then I got him the little bowl and also a cup. He's starting to drink
05:37water and stuff. So I got him a cup too. He loves balls like this. Teether balls, loves these things.
05:45So I was just washing these. My mom's going to watch him for the next couple of hours. I've
05:48already done some computer work since I've been back and I want to keep cleaning the house.
05:52Time has flown by. I can't believe we've been in Texas a month already. It feels like a day. I guess
06:00I've just been busy every day. I spent the first week I was here just cleaning the house, getting
06:05it perfect, you know, to move into because it had been so long and it definitely needed it. You know,
06:11now we just keep up with it. And you know, like the times in between when we aren't here, aren't
06:15going to be as long. I was literally pregnant and had the baby and the baby was seven months old.
06:23You know, that was always the plan was to stay put for the first six months and then re-evaluate,
06:28you know, kind of taking a new adventure in life step-by-step instead of making a whole bunch of
06:33decisions before I even know how to be a mom kind of thing. So I feel like it's gone by so fast that
06:38it's time to like kind of like do a refresh and a re-clean. So I'm going to put all the sheets into
06:43the wash. And this sheet set that we've had, this linen set is from Brooklinen and they just sent me
06:49some new things, some new colors that I've been really wanting to swap out the bedding here. So
06:54a big thank you to Brooklinen for sponsoring today's video because you guys know we love them.
06:58We have them on our bed here and in LA. I've tried all of their different collections, their luxe sateen,
07:04their linen, their classic. I love them all for different reasons. And when I added the rug in
07:09here and a little piece of art and the lamp, I just wanted to like cozy up this space to make
07:14it feel a little more like home, even though it's totally in various stages of renovation. I wanted
07:20to warm up the bedding set to hopefully inspire the space and the design coming together. I loved
07:25this color that they had. It was called driftwood and I want to mix it. I want to put the mood
07:30underneath, put driftwood and then on top, come back with a cream duvet cover and also a darker
07:37throw. Definitely pulling colors from the rug up onto the bed to, you know, like tie it in together
07:42and make it really warm in here. Brooklinen sheets actually have over 200,000 five-star reviews. So
07:48I'm definitely not the only one that loves them. And I love how effortless they make it to style
07:53your bed from the different colors that you can pick from and even patterns to mix and match,
07:57maybe your sheets and your duvet and your pillows, add a throw on top. They even have some new colors
08:03and prints to choose from. They have a stone color and lagoon, like some really pretty blues that I
08:09saw on there and a few stripe options. It's actually Brooklyn and sleep week sale. So if
08:13you click the Brooklyn and link in my description box, you'll get a special offer. And no matter if
08:17you're a returning customer like me, and you've loved it for years, or you're finding out about
08:21Brooklyn for the first time, there's definitely something for you. So definitely click the link
08:26and check them out. I have the Luxe Hardcore Bundle Set. So you get the fitted sheet, flat sheet, and
08:31duvet cover, and then four pillowcases. And then you can kind of mix and match some of the
08:36fabrication to give you a different look or match your decor. Love it. Highly, highly recommend.
08:42We love it. She loves it too.
08:53I got clothes in the wash and I want to... I'll have a straightener here. I never straighten my
08:59hair. It's probably why I didn't miss it. I never straighten... I always curl my hair. I never
09:02straighten it. If I'm going to do something, I curl it. Okay. I want to work on this drawer.
09:07You take everything out and take some measurements on like, figure out where it went. It all went
09:13wrong. Also the lack of organization right here. Like I feel like we piled things here and that's
09:20like, and there's like, look, shaving cream. Like I gotta clean all this. Romeo. I think the problem
09:26lies in the type of drawer slides that I got for this cabinet and for some of the other projects
09:32I've worked on. There's no forgiveness. The measurement has to be exact. And this one's fine.
09:41Like totally fine. Soft clothes. Totally fine. Something happened here. So I need to measure
09:4822 and five eighths. It's literally, it's an eighth of an inch. That's the problem. I need
09:55to add an eighth of an inch. And I've got some like scrap wood outside that I can, I can do.
10:00I just need to add it. See, I feel like I tried to like shove something in there and didn't work.
10:05Let's hope I don't get blown away. These gusts come, like it's calm. And then it's like
10:11a gust of wind. I have three limbs down already. Pretty big limbs. I already had one down that I
10:18tried to move to the back. Uh, and it was too heavy. I couldn't move it by myself. So I was
10:24like, okay, we'll, we'll do that later. Now I've got a few more. So I've got some eighth inch
10:29wood here that I slimmed down off of some boards that I was working on for the bathroom
10:35and I can add it just right there.
10:55Sometimes it's literally the smallest fix
10:58something that could annoy you for a long time, you know? Okay. Moment of truth.
11:14Okay. I did not change the height. Like I did not change the height. I put it right back. Oh,
11:19really? How did I make it higher on that side?
11:30It just doesn't do the soft close really well on this one. I think this thing is messed up.
11:36It works. I don't know. That's so weird that something was off with that drawer.
11:40Now I can organize it and clean all of this. Some of this stuff probably needs to be gone through.
11:47Travel shampoo is probably good. Does that stuff expire? I feel like everything could
11:52expire, but who does it? Oh, I have nail polish here. Notifications on is the code.
12:03Oh, body mist.
12:08It smells so good. It's from a store in town. Juniper, anise, and patchouli. I like juniper,
12:14but I wouldn't normally like the spices in the other two. But something about this
12:18blend smells really good. I wish I had actually made these drawers deeper, like our kitchen.
12:23You know, if it were a little bit deeper, I could put tall stuff like this. Like that
12:27was the best move, making them so deep. Oh, that fits. Does this fit? Oh, it does fit. Okay.
12:37Okay. So I cleaned a little bit and I'm back here in the bathroom because I wanted to put
12:47some tile on the wall, determine how I'm going to apply the tile to the back of the bathroom.
12:54And I wanted to start my intro and stuff for today just so that I can start working on the tile
12:59tomorrow. So here's the two options. The only thing I've settled on is that I want to do it
13:04in a brick pattern, but I don't know if I want to do the brick pattern horizontal, like that one,
13:12or vertical like that. So I put a poll on my Instagram stories and you guys are too divided.
13:18It's like too close to 50 50. It's like a personal preference. And I know that design is always a
13:24personal preference, but like, I kind of wanted it to be like a lens, like something I wasn't
13:29seeing. Like it was so obvious, like so obviously you need to do it horizontal. Like why would you
13:36think anything other than that? You know, like I wanted a landslide. It's not, it's not, um, it's
13:40been up for 24 minutes, 3,000 votes and it's 45 55. Look at that. 45 55. I don't know. I don't know.
13:56My mom's not answering because once you do it, it's on the wall. It's like done. It's like,
14:02Hey, did you get my picture? Look at it really quick. Yeah. I need to decide which direction
14:06I'm going to go with the tile. Show me the whole wall. Oh my God. It's a toss up. I know. How are
14:13you doing the tile in the shower? It's going up. It's picket. I know. I put it on my Instagram
14:20stories too for people to vote. And it's basically 50 50 50 50 with me too, because I'm thinking if
14:26I just look at that and I'm thinking ahead that if you do the mirror sideways and you do, and the
14:35floor really looks like it's going sideways, you really don't see the shower. You're not going to
14:39be able to see it. No. So I'm leaning more sideways, but it's a 50 50. Okay. Mom and I
14:46talked through like other elements in the space. What's happening with the windows? What's happening
14:52with potential wallpaper? What's happening with like the direction of the floors to the direction
14:57of the tile in the shower? You know, like all of the elements combined. And I think I feel
15:03more comfortable with my decision. I don't want to say what it is because if I change my mind,
15:09I don't want you to be like, that's not what you said. I'm like, I don't know. But I do have to
15:15decide this because I'm starting this in the morning. I just wanted to like, get started,
15:18start thinking about it. So I had time to make a decision. Let's see what the vote is for. Okay.
15:24It's up to like 6,000 votes. It's still for it's 45 55 with 55% horizontal. So that side, I'm going
15:34to do a few more things on the computer, load this footage. So I have it already and then
15:39uh, go get Cade. It's bath night. So we'll do our night routine and stuff.
15:53Is your pirate? Where's your pirate ship?
15:55Okay. Got the baby bag. I was just doing some computer work. I got in some wallpaper samples
16:12for the bathroom and they messed up and sent me the one that I was kind of looking forward to
16:19seeing. They didn't send it to me. They sent it to me in a different color way. And it was supposed
16:23to come in in this like sable Brown color and it came in in blue. I'm like, no. So I'm like a
16:31little bit disappointed in that. Cause I won't get to see it in person. I'll just like ask for
16:34credit or something. Um, but another one is definitely a contender. I'm trying to figure
16:39out my thoughts because wallpapers expensive quality wallpaper can be expensive. So I just
16:46want to make sure that I'm like doing it right. I'm like thinking through all of my options and
16:51like getting the look without overdoing it or overspending when I calculated how much I was
16:57going to need for all the places I wanted to put it in the bathroom. I was like, this, this is a
17:02lot. And so I started costing out like, okay, like if I did half as much wallpaper, what would be my
17:07solution for that? So it was like trying to work through my thoughts kind of thing. Our water
17:13softener is giving right now. Oh God, everything's fixed. Everything's like perfect. The water is
17:21amazing. So I just want to make sure that I'm, I'm like thinking through all of my options. Like
17:26maybe I want to do like, you know, uh, wall paneling or like a, you know, like Wayne's
17:31cutting on a portion of the wall and then do the wallpaper up top or do a combination of,
17:37of walls and so much to think through. And it's also a really tall, pretty large bathroom. So
17:43I think that that's why it's like so much wallpaper. If I was to do like floor to ceiling,
17:49I can't tell you this much. I do not want to play it safe. I've got all this tile already that I've
17:54already invested in. That's very warm grain neutral and versatile. It's it, it is safe. I feel
18:02like, although it has a lot of texture and I'm using a lot of different types of tile, pairing
18:06with that, like I want to push my own boundaries. One, I mean, wallpaper is doing that in general
18:11because I haven't ever used wallpaper in a room before. And because I wasn't really able to find
18:17any like killer inspiration for what I want in my head. It's kind of scary. It's a little
18:24bit daunting. You're like, am I trying to attempt to do something that hasn't really been done in
18:29the same way before, which is always something I really strive for, but is it going to work out?
18:34So it's a little bit scary when you're going to invest in something like wallpaper. Like,
18:38is it all going to pan out? And it's, it's when you're ordering, it says final sale.
18:43I've literally come in here and just stared at the walls and looked up and looked around
18:46and kind of like analyze and trying to like feel the space. Like it's somehow going to speak to me.
18:53And honestly, rooms speak. Rooms have a feeling. They like, you know, can invoke it. Like how
19:00I'm imagining how things could look and take standing in the space. And at least for me,
19:05like I have to like experience it and see all my samples together and stuff. So it will come
19:10together and I'm hoping it will be absolutely beautiful. And you guys don't forget about
19:16Brooklyn and they're having their sleep week sale. So definitely take advantage and click
19:20the link in my description box to see all of their new colors and their patterns and stuff and,
19:26and upgrade your bedding. So you can take advantage of a special offer. And I'm starting
19:30the next phase of the bathroom in the morning, working on the tub area and also kind of like
19:35perfecting the doors still, you know, like I'll, I'll work on those and make sure they're all going
19:39to fit well and stuff, but we'll go ahead and paint them and then install them after the tub
19:43area is going to be fun to do with like the tile and finally putting the tub. So it's not sitting
19:50in here. You know, it's, it's like ready to go. It's just, well, it's not ready to go. It actually
19:54needs the feet on it and stuff. So we have a lot in that area to do all the trim around the windows,
20:00whole area right there, everything about it. I'm excited. I like to do tile. I'll see you guys in
20:05the next vlog. Bye guys.
