00:00Big change for the Giants. Farhan Zaidi is out, Buster Posey is in. So what does that mean for lineups, strategy?
00:07George, this is a significant pivot in baseball to bring back a player that, not to say he's not into analytics,
00:14but it is like the opposite of what everyone else is doing, just taking one of the best catchers we've seen over the past 20 years,
00:20thrusting him into a president's role. Here's what their lineup will look like.
00:23The Giants have been begging players to sign for years there and have had an impossible time doing it.
00:28Everybody who they offer a contract to, Correa, Judge, no one wants to take it. They finally got somebody to take their money.
00:34Willie Adamas, who's going to bat second for them this season. They also gave Jung-Hoo Lee a ton of money last year out of the KBO.
00:41I picked him in fantasy last year. It lasted a month, and that was it. Lost him for the year.
00:47Matt Chapman, Helio Ramos, Mike Yastremski will bat sixth.
00:51Boy, Tyler Fitzgerald, what a shock this guy was when he came up last year. He was like the hottest player in baseball for a month.
00:57Girard Encarnacion, I have a feeling that's going to fluctuate at DH, some other players in play there, and then Patrick Bailey, a catcher.
01:03So, George, Giants probably just throwing their hands up in the air, like, what are we going to do here?
01:08We've got to fight against the Dodgers. Nobody wants to sign with us here.
01:12I don't know what happened to the city of San Francisco, one of my favorite cities.
01:15I guess nobody wants to play there anymore.
01:17Just trying to give out long-term contracts and money to players that don't want to take it.
01:22So, this is what you get with an offensive lineup. You get Willie Adamas for $200 million.
01:27I don't know. It looks okay to me. I'll probably go back in on Jung-Hoo Lee.
01:32The Giants had to see something, right, when they gave him that contract.
01:35I can't imagine he's like a nothing. So, I'll jump back in there.
01:38Tyler Fitzgerald, I don't know. Maybe I would take a shot there.
01:41Not a ton that I love here. I guess, really, their best fantasy player last year, fair to say, on offense was Helio Ramos. Is that fair?
01:49That is fair. Ramos was a top prospect at one point. He finally realized it last season.
01:54I think he'll be solid again. Once again, we start five outfielders in most fantasy leagues.
01:59In our 12-team league, that's 60 outfielders. There are 30 teams.
02:02Every team has to be two outfielders on average here that we're drafting.
02:05This is not even talking about DHs, utility, benchers. Every outfielder gets taken here.
02:10So, yeah, I'm certainly interested in Ramos. I think he's better. I think he's an outfielder three, outfielder four.
02:16I think part of the problem with Sanfran, as far as attracting free agents, is it's hard to hit the ball out for you if you're a left-hander.
02:22You don't pull that ball down the line. That stadium gets real big real quick.
02:26So, that's an issue. You're a right-hander. You shouldn't have as many problems assuming your power is the pull.
02:30If your power is the opposite way, well, then you have the problem.
02:33So, I think Dallas will be okay. Do I think he's going to do as well as he did in Milwaukee?
02:37No. Milwaukee's a band box. You can really hit the ball. The ball flies out everywhere there.
02:42Sanfran's going to definitely hurt his numbers somewhat here.
02:46Why else aren't people going there? I don't know. You mentioned Aaron Judge.
02:50Sanfran offered more money than the Yankees did. They offered $400 million.
02:53San Diego, I think, offered more money than both, and Judge still went back to the Yankees. It's not a surprise.
02:57Correa was a whole mess with the injuries, what was going on there.
03:03Yes, they keep trying. It's not their fault. They keep trying. They do, and it's just not working here.
03:08Bottom line is this lineup. Chapman, okay. If you're late at third base and he's what's left, fine.
03:16You've got to do what you've got to do, but there's not a lot to like here.
03:21Pitching-wise, you probably have two targets here.
03:25Logan Webb, Robbie Ray, fair to say. If Robbie Ray is right, I think that's a good upside.
03:30Verlander is continuing his career and chasing numbers, but I'm not chasing him.
03:36Jordan Hicks, pretty good 4-5 inning pitcher, I think.
03:39Kyle Harrison went from maybe top left-handed pitching prospect in baseball now to the back end of the Giants' rotation here.
03:47I'm going to skip ahead of this. Logan Webb, obviously, if you have him as SP1, no problem.
03:52Let's talk about what happened with the Giants' bullpen, George.
03:56Camilo Doval, who is one of those typical players, George, who we looked at and said,
04:03he's an elite closer in baseball, lost the job completely, sent to the minors.
04:07They used this guy, Ryan Walker. He was the Giants' most valuable fantasy player last year.
04:13He won 10 games, he saved 10 games, and he struck out 99.
04:19George, he's the closer for the Giants. Now, again, a lot of luck involved close games, 10 wins, right?
04:24But I don't know. How do you feel about it?
04:27I mean, this is like no-track-record kind of guy, probably going to get closing opportunities again.
04:31I don't think they're going to hand this back to Doval.
04:33No, it's Walker's the guy you want. ERA was under two, WIP was under one. He had a great year.
04:38I keep saying I put my close at the tiers, right? Lock guys, second-tier guys, who OK, I think.
04:44And then third-tier guys, who the hell knows? He's in the second tier for me.
04:47Only done it one year, he falls apart, too. They'll go back to Doval or somebody else here.
04:51But Walker is the guy I want right now.
