01:19my dear my favorite diamond Irish who's Lamar free which technically turns into
01:31you are the pulse of my heart I do like someone with an accent you know like
01:37even like it's so sure but even someone with a Dublin accent like hey I'm like
01:41creation would be volume there the Serbian branch not a volume
01:59the most I've ever cried over an Irish guy was 45 minutes saw him on st.
02:05Patrick's Day forgot his name Raven she's all about the law in it or out of
02:11it she's just raving about it I love love I love being loved I feel like I
02:16tried to exude love even just in my life in general I would like someone who has
02:23a good sense of humor we can just like keep play you know riffing off each
02:26other I've introduced so many of my friends to each other and then they get
02:32in relation and I'm like that is so beautiful and so happy I'm so happy I'm
02:35the matchmaker and then I'm like your name Senorina Raven nice Raven lovely
02:41name thank you very much where's the accent from I'm originally from Los
02:44Angeles the world is so much bigger than America it's bigger than Los Angeles so
02:49I came over to Trinity to do my master's so LA girl oh yeah what brings you film
02:56studies would you believe okay Danny a particular genre of film or so I
03:01actually did my degree in comedy so I'm like legally funny in the state of
03:05Massachusetts yeah I do tick-tock I make tick-tocks
03:08oh it all started because I started a tick-tock series called 32 counties 32
03:13pubs where I went to every single county in Ireland and I had a pint in all of
03:15them so you've been to leash I've been to leash Wow I went to I went to Abbey
03:20Leakes and I went to Morrissey's more cool that's really cool I remember I was
03:25out in Mayo like in Westport and this dad came up to me with his son's phone
03:29number and so his son was an actor and so I googled him and he was really good
03:34looking so I shot him a text and he moved to Canada well Jan that's good
03:42enough but oh you bring great energy yeah trying to I love love you know it's
03:49kind of the best thing we do I think you know your name Connor nice to meet you
03:55where is the accent from Dublin? Cardiff.
04:00County, bay, kilometers south of here it's fine. People in Ireland don't even know where it is.
04:06I've gone on quite a lot of dates there was one point where I was going on average about two a week
04:11you're ready you're ready you don't need no pep talk oh no I prep myself before
04:16going in here that's a version of yourself perfect yeah I would like to
04:19find the love of my life like and as they say like oh the one
04:24I'm Raven. I'm Connor. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you too. You're looking lovely.
04:28Thank you very much. Yourself as well. Oh my goodness. No I love all the colours.
04:32Thank you so much. Very nice. Where are you from yourself?
04:34Carlow. Oh from Carlow. I live in Nace but I'm originally from LA. Okay because I was
04:39trying to pick up on the accent. Yeah it's a little funky my parents call it
04:42Corkifornia because it's somewhere in between Cork and California at this point.
04:45There's no place better than Ireland. I love going to the pub with my friends on
04:50a Wednesday that'd be crazy in the US they'd be like ooh that's wild you know
04:54you may have an issue. I'll have a Guinness. Guinness absolutely. On the way. Good choice.
04:58I have to pick the traditional Irish drink because I'm already sporting the
05:01tricolour. You are the tricolour. You literally are. They were like how can we get the most
05:06stereotypical Irish man for the stereotypical American? Oh 100%. Someone
05:10asked me like oh what are some words that you did not understand when you
05:13moved here? Shifting was one that I didn't understand. I thought they were
05:17given handjobs in the club. I was like this is crazy this is they're doing this
05:22to LA and Ireland. Perfect. Beautiful. There we go. Thank you very much. I'm very proud of you kids. Thank you.
05:34Hey what's the story? Ben might just be one of the most dangerous performers on
05:41the music scene. So you know you got your singing and all that and then karate you
05:47know I've been doing that for years.
05:52What makes you a great date then? I have genetically perfect eyebrows. I've been
05:58asked if I get work on them. No. It's all natural man. If you like eyebrows make
06:04sure you give me a call. Now welcome. Hello. How are you? Your name please? Ben.
06:10Best to meet you Ben. How long have I been single? Better question to ask how long I've
06:13not been single because I've I mean I've never had a girlfriend so you know.
06:18Thanks man. You know first time for everything right?
06:22Hey how are you? Hello. Nice to meet you. You're very tall aren't you? I'm pretty lanky yeah.
06:27How tall are you? Six foot four. Okay. In these shoes six foot five because they've got a
06:32bit they've got a bit of heel on. You need that extra inch. Oh yeah. You've got it.
06:35You've got to show it off. Well it's gonna take like longer to get up and kiss that's
06:39the problem you know what I mean? That's not a problem. I've done my squats.
06:45Ben what's your difficulty? By day I teach karate. Oh cool. Been a black belt since I was 15.
06:52Basically the moment I turned 18 they were like Ben can you cover this class?
06:56And I was like yeah yeah. And then by night I do music musician. I don't want to say it's
07:01numero uno because then karate's numero dos right but that's my main love. So tell
07:06me what's your usual type? My usual type? Yeah. Musician. Musician okay. And if she
07:13came in and she was acting like Jack Black I'd I'd already be in love.
07:15Some work hard to hone their music skills. Saoirse was born to play.
07:31I grew up in like my dad was a rapper like they were both musicians I'm like I think my
07:40environment was pretty laid-back in that kind of sense. I really love being in love. I know
07:48that kind of sound sounds a bit mad at such a young age but when it's good it's amazing.
07:53Hello. Look at you funky looking. Thank you. What's your name? Saoirse. Saoirse nice to meet you. Yeah nice to meet you too.
08:01You look like you're ready for a bit of dating. I am absolutely. As much of a man as they may be
08:06like I just I love them to have a soft side. They need to be able to make me laugh or it just won't work.
08:11Your date is at a bar. Okay. Should we go and meet him? Absolutely. What would really impress you?
08:17Musician. I'd be like hi yeah let's do this. Hello. Hello. How are you? Hi I'm Saoirse. Saoirse nice to meet you. Ben. How are you? Oh man I'm class. I love the piercings. Thanks so much.
08:33Great. Where are you from? Literally just up the road. What about you? I'm from Cork. Geez sorry to hear that.
08:43I've been living in Dublin for about a year and a half. I get a little bit nervous from time to time
08:50but I don't think I'll be that nervous.
08:54So like what do you do then? I'm actually a musician. Yeah same. Are you a musician as well?
09:02How long have you been performing for? Well when I was a kid and I went to the electric picnic and
09:08I was at the tent where Glen Hansard was playing. Okay. After he got off I like snuck up and I sang
09:15I want to be sedated by the Ramones. That's so cool. So it was a wee like 10 year old just going 20 20 20.
09:22And from there like just kind of kicked off. I love that. That's so cool. So do you go to college
09:27for music then? I'm actually going into sixth year. I'm 18 but I'm going into sixth year.
09:33How old are you actually? I'm 20. Okay nice. It's not weird. It's not too weird.
09:44I like it though. That's cool. Why did you do the same side? So basically I used to have it
09:49down to here. Really? Like massive and I would get so much sweat just down here on the back of my neck.
09:55You're going for that viking look. Yeah. I have like I said amazing friends who love me for who I am
10:00but there's like that extra layer of like having that you know partner who like sees you totally.
10:05I have never tried oysters in my life. Today's the day. Today is the day. As far as personality
10:10wise I like someone who's also outgoing. When I was dating people who were a bit shy it's hard
10:15introducing them to my friends because it is a huge kind of friend group. Now that we've been
10:20visually acquainted I'm putting on my glasses now so I can actually see. Don't have to worry about
10:25I think glasses always look cute. There you go. Thank you. One time I was with someone who's like
10:29can you leave your glasses on all the time. I was like so no I have to like go to sleep. No I would
10:32like someone to think they're cute but not like leave them on you know. They're like that's weird.
10:36That's when it starts to get weird. Irish guys are weird. They like weird things. This one dude just
10:43started like licking my foot once. Like this is a foot coming out of a shoe and also he didn't ask.
10:48There's like one person I dated before and they were just like oh I like it that you're ginger
10:52and I'm like okay cool I'll roll with that and then it started getting weird. They were like way
10:57too into it. Being single for three years really helped me better understand what a relationship
11:03should be because when you're that age like from 18 you don't really know. You are either gonna
11:07love it or you're gonna hate it. I used to be an oyster shucker so. I've shucked oysters in my time
11:11too. Yeah there you go. A mother shucker as they call us. That was me. That was me the entire time.
11:17Recently I haven't seen my friends with their boyfriends or their partners and I'm like
11:21oh that'd be really nice you know. Sláinte. Cheers. Sláinte.
11:27Mine didn't come out. And like if things go well because I would say it's gone well so far
11:33um there's a place that I go to that there is a raven table that I can go and I can be like
11:38hey is the raven table available and they're like let me check. Having a table for just you
11:42Man that's so raven. I get that so much. I had a feeling it's like you probably heard this a lot.
11:51My Instagram is that's not so raven. That's not so raven. That's not so raven exactly. We're different.
12:02Oh look at the rose it's so pretty. Oh I love that yeah. Oh gosh. That's so cute. I love I'm
12:08gonna keep that there. Sure enough. I think the best way to meet someone is like on a night out.
12:13I'd rather do that than like scroll mindlessly on my phone like looking
12:18for someone because I think they're hot. I'll be honest I've never had fish.
12:24How have you never had fish? Well until very recently I was a vegetarian. Oh okay that makes
12:29sense. How long were you a vegetarian for? Literally all my life. Really? And then I just kind of went
12:34off and I was like man chicken just tastes too good though. McDonald's chicken nuggets like come on.
12:40Would you ever approach anybody on a night out and try and chat them up?
12:44Um every once in a while uh but there's got to be some sort of sign.
12:52I wouldn't just walk up to someone and go hey because I don't I don't want to be
12:55that guy you know what I mean that guy is a bit weird. I will get the uh beef burger and the
13:01rhubarb cheesecake as well please. Okay cool. Did I get you some water? Um yeah go on.
13:06Still sparkling? No uh just still or tap that. Okay enjoy that. Thank you. Pleasure.
13:12What's the difference between still and tap? One of them's from a bottle one of them's from the tap.
13:16Yeah but like but like tap water is still water. No there is a taste difference. Is there actually?
13:21Are you not a water connoisseur? No I am. Don't get it twisted. I'm a huge fan of water.
13:26Connoisseur of water? Just a connoisseur of water man. You know the hydro homie like you know what I mean.
13:32That's so good. I will be I'm going to take that from you. I like that.
13:47Hi. Well how are you? I'm great how are you? Can I ask your name? Only Lennon. You look great.
13:53Thanks. Do you want me to take your jacket? Uh yeah sure okay thanks. I love your blue shirt and
13:58your blue eyes. Yeah it matches the shirt it matches the eyes and the socks. It's very cool.
14:01What are your socks like? It's a sushi board. Oh I love it. Generally I get like my female friends
14:08just like just prep me pick out these clothes for me just like dress me up I don't know what I'm.
14:13What's a bit of crack to you? I've gotten real big into like karaoke recently so if I can like
14:18convince them to like come out and come out and sing with me later that's that's that's that's
14:21the end goal. So what's your karaoke go-to? I think I have like a good voice to do like
14:26George Ezra songs. My friends tell me I'm like a golden retriever in human form big and
14:32blonde and golden and friendly. Are you musical? I really like musicals. Okay. I'm always singing.
14:39You say the price of my love's not a price that you're willing to pay. In the car I'm singing if
14:47I'm walking the dogs I'm singing if I'm in the shower I'm singing I just I don't I definitely
14:51like singing. How did you discover your karaoke thing? When I was on holiday I was just wandering
14:55around like oh a karaoke bar I should go in there like oh they just let you go up and go
14:58in the machine and then I was like oh my god to be fair there are a lot of drunk people that are
15:02very easily pleased but like a whole like crowd of people cheering and shouting in my name like
15:07this is the greatest thing I've ever experienced in my life. If I could date a character from musical
15:12maybe Glinda the good witch from Wicked. Popular you're gonna be popular. She's not arrogant
15:21confident she's full of herself she knows her work she's cool she's fun I think we'd we'd have
15:25fun. As a classic middle child Katie is different from her siblings in one sense at least. I've never
15:32been in a relationship I don't know whether that's because of me. My sister now is getting married
15:41and then my younger sister now has a boyfriend too so like I'd love just to have someone now
15:46there for me. Does that make you comfortable like karaoke singing? My friend said like when I like
15:51came back I was like you're so much more confident now what happened? Are you Katie? I am. Katie you
15:58look absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much. Look at your beautiful blue eyes. Thank you so much. Not
16:03at all how are you feeling? I'm very excited I'm a bit nervous but I'm very excited. I just want to
16:08give all my love that I have and project it onto someone else and take care of someone like
16:14everything's gonna be fine. I've got you.
16:18So Katie. Hi how are you? Nice to meet you. How are you? Sorry I'm such an old girl I'm like no I can't. How are you what's your name?
16:24Oni what's your name? Katie. Katie nice to meet you. You too thank you. And Nila's gonna take care of you now. Would you like a drink?
16:30Oh yes actually. We're having love potions at the minute. Oh I can't do cocktails and I'll be on the
16:35floor if I have a cocktail. I suppose just tell myself to just be completely yourself if I don't
16:41do that then I'm not gonna be able to find someone who's actually for me. What I say to my friend is
16:46I'm mature I'm just not responsible. I know. Do you know where I got ID'd you today? In Holland and Barrett.
16:52Oh very nice. I take these tablets right they're like for fapper and he was like have you got ID?
16:57And I was like I was holding car keys and I was like I'm 22 and he was like yeah but have you got
17:01ID? I was like I have a picture of my ID. He's like yeah that won't do. I was like as if I was buying
17:05alcohol. I was like okay never mind I'll just go and get my dad. I was so scarlet. I love a good laugh.
17:12Anything else is negotiable like but it's like if you're not making me laugh what's the point?
17:16I love getting ID'd like oh you take you take them on a routine thank you.
17:27So aside from insurance do you have any hobbies or? Oh yeah insurance is not a hobby.
17:35It's free time I spend looking up deductibles.
17:38Yeah no I'm big into music. I play a lot of music. Oh cool. What instruments do you play or do you sing?
17:44Yeah so I sing. I play harmonica. I play guitar. I play the banjo. I can play the drums. I have a
17:49dream of learning the banjo. I have a banjo back in LA. I have a banjo at home. Oh my god I can
17:54play more than happy birthday finally. How do you feel like when someone shows you like their art
17:59or that kind of thing because like I love making short films and things like that or writing scripts
18:03but like something that comes up is like you can maybe not enjoy something fully but still be like
18:09I support you and I'm so proud that you did that you know. Or even if it's like okay maybe that's
18:13not my specific taste. And that was like the issue that I like ran into previous relationships was
18:17like they would just tell me like oh well I don't like it so you know. I have a claddagh tattoo
18:22because it reminds me to always love myself first and make that promise to myself because that
18:27situation was so bleak that like I lost all sense of myself like who I even was anymore
18:32and he broke up with me because I was too anxious being around him. This is an album cover.
18:38One of my favorite albums of all time. The Glow Part 2 by The Microphones. Okay cool I've never
18:42heard of it. The guy who's in it is basically one guy. He was married to Michelle Williams for a
18:46while. Oh really? I used to work with Michelle Williams. So I used to work in podcasting. Oh
18:51shit. Yeah yeah I used to work in podcasting. I find conversation even comes so much easier
18:55when you meet someone in person. Maybe they're wearing like a t-shirt for a band that you like
18:59as well and then you can shout or even with like tattoos like oh. That's a nice one. Sleepy hollow.
19:05I used to go up to Salem every year when I was living in Boston. It was the best. See I really
19:10want to go there when I've told my friend Lily and just like no I just want to go for the witches.
19:14You literally you have to go for the witches. It's the best. Even like going in like
19:18March is like nice because then you actually get to like see all the stores and like the museum and
19:22like do stuff because on Halloween it's crazy. And burn women on the stage. Yeah exactly. That's
19:26like what you're into. Like you know yeah you can do that. Full reenactment. But it's really really nice and me
19:31and my friend Jade used to go up every fall and people would be like Raven and Jade those are
19:35fake names. Those are your old names. And we're like no those are our names. I love witches and
19:40Chris I love I am a horoscope girl. I love astrology. I bought a really nice deck of tarot cards
19:47that I really want to learn how to use. I can kind of teach you but I love reading tarot. I
19:51actually have a course now. I just want to get a reading. It's like those people who like oh you
19:56find a funny video online or like oh this is fake and it's like man maybe it is. But like you live
20:01a sadder life for not just believing it's true. Exactly.
20:08I'll be honest now. This is the first time I've had like a proper proper burger.
20:12Really? Yeah. You should have done like a ritual for that like going out and like
20:16buying like a massive fucking burger. This is the ritual. Fair enough. Into the unknown.
20:26How is it? Yeah it's pretty good. I do need to be attracted to them definitely but I definitely
20:34think I'm more so what's on the inside. As long as they have a creative side and like the emotional
20:40intelligence to create like I love that. Are you in a band or is it just kind of. I was. Okay. Could
20:45you give me like a band that you compare yourself to? Do you know you know Queens of the Stone Age?
20:49Of course. Yeah. It's kind of like cock rock. Yeah okay. In the sense that it's it's it's kind
20:55of machismo but it's also kind of self-aware in the fact that it is machismo. It's like
21:00we're kind of taking the piss here a little bit you know. I grew up in a family that just loved
21:04music. We have a shed at home and in that shed is just literally stacks upon stacks of vinyls,
21:11albums, signed copies, stuff like that. That's probably my inheritance. You ever heard of
21:17Mick Christopher? No. Oh man he's such a good songwriter. He's one of my favorite artists.
21:22Like I don't even like acoustic stuff that much.
21:30No no no no. Like I mean if you're good then then we don't have a problem.
21:37I come from an extremely musical family and I'm so grateful for it. Oh my god. My grandparents play
21:42trad so I've been to a few sessions with them. My granddad plays like every string instrument.
21:47Like so if I do an acoustic gig it's a lot more like intimate. So like I'll play a lot
21:51more of my songs that are like a bit more like special to me and stuff and like really telling
21:56stories. When I was younger I actually got severely bullied. It was always verbal and a
22:04lot of it happened online. It was mostly about my body and stuff and like people making like
22:09fake accounts of me when I'm like I'm like 13 years old like and it literally was torture.
22:15Not to toot my own horn but I've made people cry and stuff like at these gigs and stuff.
22:22When I did tell my mom she like helped me through it and she gave me the tools to like build myself
22:27back up and I think that's where my self-confidence and things like that comes from. Like people
22:34coming up afterwards and like seeing people in front of me like really connect with the
22:37music that I make and I really love it. Yeah.
22:46Renauld's relationship history. Single. Mostly single. Actually it's more complicated than that.
22:54I don't know if I should class like a couple of months as like actual
22:58couple. So like really single probably my whole life really. Oh apart from like well maybe like
23:0310 years ago yeah. But it was a long distance relationship so we had a great relationship
23:09because we didn't see each other too often. Hi. How are you? Good. Renauld nice to meet you.
23:15Renauld. Yes. Mateo nice to meet you. Where are you from Renauld? South Africa originally. Oh.
23:19Like I like to go into like different cities and go on to Tinder and like swipe and see how many
23:23people like me back it's always good you know if there's lots of likes like yes people like me
23:27but then it never gets anywhere. Are you living here in Ireland for presume for a while? Yeah in
23:32Cork. For a while? Yeah about like five years yeah. Okay okay. And you? My man I'm here for 20
23:38years. 20 years. Still got a strong accent. I'm never going to lose it though. Oh yeah.
23:44My roots are from Greece so I'm quite Mediterranean so for some reason I'm not really into guys that
23:48kind of look like me a little bit. It's weird. How's the dating been going? Well I'm here now
23:53aren't I? So it's not that great. Have you dated many Irish guys? Oh definitely at least the pool
23:59in Cork. Gone to the mall? Gone to the mall. Well no not that bad. I play rugby with an inclusive
24:05team so it takes up a lot of your life because you do a lot of tournaments and then it's also
24:09a very social crowd. Do you want someone that's into rugby sports? They wouldn't have to be but
24:15I'd say someone a bit more open that maybe they come watch a match or so. Okay.
24:23Are you just more excited over it? Yeah it's like because after a certain point it's like whatever
24:27our picture is like it's probably gonna be wrong. I always go for who do I want to bring home?
24:34My mom wants me to meet a farmer and I don't know why. We have this joke because my sister's
24:40boyfriend I was like oh I want someone tall with like curly hair and my sister's like is it is it
24:45him? My family are like their opinion is like yeah okay fine I'm listening but it's fine it's the
24:51it's the group chat that's that's that's that's the vibe you have to have. I have like really good
24:56friends and all that I can like talk to about stuff it's just never really had much romance.
25:02Very important question do you have any pets? Yeah so I've well I have one dog one dog's my
25:06sister's so I basically have two dogs. He's my nephew of course. I have two and a half dogs.
25:14Two and a half? What does half mean? Our neighbor's dog likes us more he like hops the fence and stays
25:20in our garden and like he'll be out like in the garden with the neighbors and then I'll come home
25:24and like okay bye. Loyal is the word they throw around a lot like once once I'm friends with
25:28someone's like okay no you're stuck with me I'm clinging to you like moss on a rock. I said to
25:34you like I don't like dogs. I actually have to go quickly. I have to go to the toilet sorry forever.
25:42Oh this is so awkward but I actually forgot your name. Oney. Oney okay yeah okay yeah Oney okay
25:48sounds like Owey from Garfield. I've never been on like a dinner date like with anyone
25:54yeah unless it's like family it's just like eating in front of people I'm like
25:58I don't care that's their personal problem. Use your hands. This is fine. I don't care.
26:08What about yourself? No never. Really? No first one.
26:12Are you surprised or like horrified or like pleasantly surprised?
26:16I have nothing to complain about so far. I'll take it. Yeah and a lot to be happy about to be
26:22honest like I think I'm really subtle. I've been told I am not subtle at all but it's always
26:29immensely obvious to everyone. I presume you're looking for maybe something serious or like what's
26:35I would say so yeah that is my track. I'm looking for something real you know. I'm not I'm not
26:39playing games. I'm not here to play nothing. I'm sorry I'm cutting the steak for so long.
26:45It's like a comedy skit. It just will not cut at the moment but no I am. I'm looking for something
26:50serious you know. I'm looking for something real like the way I feel about like where I'm at right
26:53now is like I have the job. I have great friends. I do have a place to live even if it's with
26:57roommates you know but like it'd be nice to share that with someone like yeah where like no matter
27:02why you know they're there for you exactly like no matter what it's there. Was life really that
27:12much better in the past? Andy thinks so. Your name? Andy. Nice to meet you Andy. How are you?
27:18Oh god I can't even remember the last time I was chatted up in a bar. I think that kind of world
27:23is fading over time like people don't have that human connection in a bar where they'd probably
27:27go but I'd probably be the same like you know there's that bit of nervousness as well. A bit
27:32of tension. Yeah. Yeah but that's that's cool. That's cool something unknown. Ah you spotted
27:36okay okay let me take you there. Okay you're eager to go yeah. Someone who's kind of sporty
27:41or into the outdoors. Hi how's it going? Nice to meet you. Hi I'm Andy. How's it going? What are you on?
27:48The beer. Ah the beer yeah. Nervous? I'm all right yeah. You? Yeah settled in. Oh you're fine yeah I'm
27:54quite relaxed actually that's fine. Where are you from? I'm from Dublin so I'm only living in the
27:58rural area. Where are you from? Well I live in Cork but South African originally. Most of my life I've been
28:04pretty much single so I know myself really well. I also don't judge anyone or anything like that.
28:11I'm very open-minded. You're missing Cork pride this weekend. I know I know I know a lot of my
28:15friends are on that side. We normally do the the parade because we do the rugby team there so we
28:21are part of the rugby team there so. They're called. Hallands. Yes Hallands. I'm playing for Emerald Warriors.
28:27Are you? Yeah. I don't think pussy would be the right word. I think yeah it's just more so
28:32just waiting for that good connection. He's just got seven. He hasn't even got his drink yet. Yeah
28:36it's on the way. He's just making that for you now. So is this like your first date or like
28:44have you been on dates before? Okay I'll tell you I'll tell you this is my first date however
28:51there was one time like I asked someone on a date I was like I think you're really interesting
28:59you're really cool I'd like to get to know you a little better can I take you out sometime and
29:02she said yeah so we went out and it went it was all right but afterwards like I was like there's
29:08something wrong here so I asked on another and she was like yeah but I was like you do know it's a
29:12date and she was like what? It turns out she had no idea. Oh god. She thought we were just hanging
29:20out as mates. Oh my god no. Paid for it and everything. What about you? So we like met over
29:29Instagram and we started talking and it was actually it was going really good and it was
29:33lovely met up with him in person he did not smell very good and first I texted my friend I was like
29:41pretend to be my aunt ring me and she rang me and she was like Saoirse you need to go to the hospital
29:46right now your dad's pacemakers after breaking and he's in the hospital and I had it on full
29:50volumes that he could hear and I was like I'm so sorry I have to go so I left and went home and I
29:55was just like oh I when I got home I texted him I was like everything's fine now you know it's okay
30:00just I need a while and then we just never spoke again. So what are you looking for? Like serious
30:12question. I don't know. You don't know? I don't know. Like are you looking for love? Are you looking for
30:19something serious? I'm fine with it. About four years ago I had like a major surgery I was only 18
30:27ended up being cancer now thankfully I didn't have to get any treatment afterwards it was just
30:33taken out and it was grand but it was an eight pound tumor so it was actually the size of a baby
30:38you're completely not what I expected at all. What were you expecting? I think I was expecting
30:44someone a bit more like stuck up their arse. I don't know why. Like I'm so happy it's you now
30:49because like I'm having such a good time. Yeah no I got a myectomy where they removed me from my
30:54arse years ago. Really? Yeah. After that then it was just going out and drinking and the whole lot
31:02so I wasn't looking after myself I didn't I didn't care. Are you enjoying yourself? I'm gonna love
31:10that. Are you sure? Again I told you I'm really shallow if you were if I didn't like you like
31:14I have to go to the bathroom for half an hour. Yeah. I think maybe was that me trying to not
31:20think about it and process it whereas then when I actually did and even getting emotional about
31:26and actually sitting and saying to my mum I don't feel okay today. I normally don't like this but
31:34let's do it. Let's do it. Okay ready? That was disgusting. Do you think there's a bit of a spark?
31:43I'd like to think so. You're fine. It's okay. I would say like maybe I'm not as affectionate on
31:50a first date but I kind of like that he was like very much like clear that he fancied me and that
31:54made me fancy him more. How would you like to do this? Put it away. I'll pan. Are you sure?
31:59Mm-hmm. Maybe I can take you for a drink later if you're right.
32:04Maybe you want to see the raven table? Oh hey it's been a while. How are you?
32:09And thank you for dinner. Well of course. Anytime. Oh thank you. Would you like to see each other
32:15again romantically? Can I go first? Yes. 100%. Easy yes. You know I think you're a lovely guy
32:25and it was so great getting- I can't even fake it. Yeah absolutely. No totally.
32:30That's the worst actor. No it's yes absolutely. 100%. No. No as in yes.
32:42It was your laugh. I knew immediately. I heard you laughing from the main podium and I knew like
32:48oh yeah. We should totally check out the raven table. I can't wait. We're going to the raven
32:53table next. Let's see if the raven table is available. Doug you're supposed to get
32:56it on the other side. That's how this goes. I'm fine. Yeah. Do you have lipstick? You
33:04have lipstick all over your mouth man. I'll get it for you.
33:19Thank god I put this thing on. Oh yeah. I didn't- I wasn't gonna but I saw you do it
33:22I don't know. I mean I spilled there. It would have been gone all over. I wore a white t-shirt
33:27and I was like no. I was like please do not let anything spill. So do you live with your brother
33:32down in Cork do you? Yeah yeah. Yeah so you can see. And yourself? I just noticed you just bought
33:38a new house. Oh nice. All of my kind of main furniture, couches and tables have all been
33:43donated. Oh that's good yeah. Adverts and stuff like that. I'm the same. I bought a place like
33:48what two years now ago and it was rented when I bought it so. It's like terrible furniture but
33:54I just. Have you not changed them either? No. You know we had like issues with money and stuff
34:01growing up when I was probably like 10, 11. So I was always the kid that was at school who like you
34:06know who had like the the bad food or didn't have food or they call it on the intercom like you
34:12haven't paid school fees that's they're a bit more mean in South Africa but stuff like that.
34:17I have these ambitions I wake up one day I'm like you know what I'm gonna clean it off and I'm
34:22but I never get to it. Have you not? No. Oh I couldn't. I was out the back painting windowsills last
34:27night. Because now even where I am financially secure I'm still kind of like can I buy a new
34:32couch you know stuff like that is really in my mind is like should I do I really need it you know.
34:38And my friends are like so they'll come stay over and then they're like sometimes they stay on the
34:43couch and they're like it's the worst couch in the world. It's killing my back it's the worst.
34:48I'm just like you don't want it's there anyway. And you want to date it. When you don't have a lot
34:53of money growing up money becomes a very big part of your life you know just the thought of it you
34:58know it's just kind of like even when you have it you're scared you're gonna lose it you know
35:01you're kind of thinking okay everyone's doing well doing well and then after a while I'm thinking okay
35:06what about me you know. We installed a new shower but it was me and my brother that did it so it
35:11it's okay. You're gonna get electrocuted like one of them. I start liking someone and then they start
35:18liking me a bit too much and then I start getting quite claustrophobic and I think that's because
35:22I've been single most of my life but I'm working on it so. I don't go to the gym every day I go
35:28like a couple times a week and I go karate a couple times a week as well. You do karate? Yeah.
35:33That's cool. I'm decently successful I'm not world class. I did taekwondo. You did taekwondo?
35:40Yeah. How long? It took about four years. Okay. Yeah about four. One of the biggest
35:48things that like put me off it was the fact that you just take your socks off. Yeah. Can't deal
35:52with it. Why not? It's gross. Why do you have your toes out? I sleep in my socks. I swim in my socks.
36:00Really? In your socks? Yeah. Don't they get wet? I can't. Yeah they do get wet. That's the point so
36:04that you don't have to touch the floor. The only time I ever take off my socks is if I'm gonna go
36:09shower or if I'm changing them in the morning or evening. I can't do it. Okay. Yeah. All right.
36:18You know what let's just. Let's not. Let's skip that. Let's just hop over that. Over that yeah.
36:24We're just gonna yeah leap that mountain. Yeah. It's just fine. The last three years in Venice.
36:30Okay. New York, Paris, Athens, London, Amsterdam and Edinburgh. Yeah. And that's all by yourself?
36:38Yeah yeah. By yourself? By yourself yeah. Wow. So then I went to New York because I always wanted to
36:43see a bunch of Broadway shows. Yeah. Oh fab. What did you see? I seen Hadestown, Hamilton. When I
36:49was a teenager I was like absolute shut in. Went to school, hid in the corner, tried to read in my
36:56books just hoping no one talked to me. Go home, walk my dogs, go to bed just over and over. Sorry
37:00I think I think that's my one actually. Oh yeah I have it. She looks like you've worked out there.
37:04Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Not at all. There's no point like trying to be extra like
37:10nice and special. I don't really wear makeup like usually like if I'm even now I'm like oh god like
37:14he's not really seeing me for me. This was on top of the bundle. Yep this will be fine.
37:19You look gorgeous. Thank you. So do you. Fabulous. When you're like solo traveling around the world
37:24and meet people all over the place just starting conversations making friends you kind of just like
37:29they're most people are nice nice they'll be grand. They're not my usual type but I don't
37:35really have like a usual type. I kind of go off personality. Well if you don't have your usual
37:39type how do you know I'm not your usual type? That's true. You caught me out there. I'm the
37:43trendsetter. I'm going to be your type. Oh okay then okay. I don't get nervous or anything unless
37:49like I really fancy them. The one I probably had the most fun in was Amsterdam because
37:55I don't know what you're implying. Because? No I am a good catholic but I don't know what you're implying.
38:03I was going to say because I found a karaoke bar and they felt. Did you? Yeah. I knew she was only in
38:08Amsterdam. I'd love to karaoke in Amsterdam. It was great. I went in there like literally every night
38:14after I found it and by the end they were like mortally like advertising me. They're like giving
38:17me drinks or like open the door like come in look at this dude he wants that fucking thing and he's
38:21been there for six hours. I feel like I'm I'm able to kind of like get my own kind of like stories
38:26but I'd like someone to like hang out with and bounce off of and there's only like so much fun
38:32you can get when you're only entertaining yourself. Can you sing though or is it just that you're
38:36having fun? Can I sing? Can I sing Katie? I'm sorry did I underestimate you? I mean how well can you sing?
38:46Look I don't like to brag again very modest. I am the most beautiful singer in all of the history
38:53of singing ever. Are you? Literally the best. What's your like go-to song for karaoke? I think
38:59something by ABBA like Waterloo. Yeah it's got to be a crowd pleaser you know. How about you?
39:08Sweet Caroline. Oh yeah. I know a bit cliche but I'm telling you when you're in a room full of people
39:14yeah you got to pick one that people know the words to because they can join in and sing along.
39:17And you're not left alone singing. You were in Australia? I was in Australia. Yeah what were you
39:23doing there? I was living there for a while so I was doing my farming. Farming? Yeah like I lived on a
39:28farm for about five months. I would have been 25 and just had the best time and ended up in Sydney
39:36and so like I donated spare room in Australia and like I have. You have like 16 children? Not 16.
39:42I was very surprised that like someone even took up the offer of my sperm but on the one where
39:50the first update there was five children. I think there's seven at the moment. Seven? Yeah there's
39:55going to be eight. Oh that's really and you know them like? Oh no like no contact whatsoever. But
40:00they just told you all right your sperm's done well now. They can only be used by like four families
40:04and they those four families can only have three children each. It's a drawn line I'm not a father
40:10I'm a sperm donor and that's it. Did you get good money for this at least? No I didn't get paid for it.
40:15What? No I thought you were like I was just you were like traveling around Australia like dude I
40:20need some money. You're just why'd you do it? You're just like sure like I'll do a bit of fun. I may not
40:26never use my own sperm to have my own biological children so being able to give that to somebody
40:32else and give someone else the opportunity to have a family was just something selfless that I kind
40:39of couldn't pass by. Because I've seen so many of my friends struggle through IVF that I was like
40:46I'm part of somebody else's journey now. Yeah exactly. I watched a documentary on Netflix
40:52The Man with a Thousand Kids. Scared the living life out of me so I had to reach out to them and
40:58find out what like if there was any update. So they've said that there's a further two kids
41:03but at least it's contained. It can't go very much further. I think one day they'll be knocking
41:10on your door. Well if they're out like me I think they'd be a bit curious and they'd want to find
41:14out. Oh yeah but they're not allowed to are they? They are when they're 18. But then your vintage
41:19house will be amazing. It'll be like you can come in they can see your vintage house they'll be like
41:25how is my daddy and it's like oh yeah he bought a vintage house. I think if someone was calling me
41:31daddy I'd be like no. It was good though. Yeah I enjoyed it. What went through your head Ben when
41:43you saw your date for the first time? I was like whoa. Hello. How are you? And she was very funny
41:51had great personality. I'm just gonna pop this here. Perfect. I'd say we got on pretty well I hope.
41:57Let's have a look here. I'll get it. Are you sure? Yeah. Do you think she fancied you? I'm terrible at
42:06knowing. I think so like she was laughing decent amount. Have cash if you need. No I'm on. Promise
42:12you. It's the chivalrous thing to do you know. Okay thank you so much I really do appreciate that.
42:17No bother. Is there any way the date could have been any better? Probably if we kissed.
42:23How was everything for you both? It was lovely yeah. Thank you so much.
42:31I'm nervous now.
42:36Would you like to see each other again romantically? Yes. You're really nice and it was really really
42:44sweet and I appreciate you paying for everything and it was really lovely but I just don't think
42:49there's anything there to explore. All right. I'm sorry. It's all right. Okay. It's how it is.
42:55Thank you both so much for coming. Thank you so much. He's a really really lovely person and like
43:01it was still a lovely date and I really enjoyed it and I enjoyed his company but just not in a
43:05romantic sense. Bye. What are you thinking? Don't think that much. You don't have to think
43:23about what you're thinking. Yeah what am I thinking? That's like the hardest question
43:27because I wasn't thinking. You know what the tink is on the tink of? We were just looking at me.
43:30I know I was just in rapture I'm sorry. That's okay. That's okay too. I was composing poetry
43:36and you ruined it. I'm just gonna pop this down and then I'm so sorry. We have a little thing we'd
43:46love you to do. Sure. Oh okay. Are you ready? Here you can get up. Here's the words. You're
43:54gonna have to join them. The price of my love is not a price that you're willing to pay.
44:02You cry. Can you do what you're willing to see when you see me go by? Why so sad?
44:12He was telling me he loved karaoke and I love karaoke too. He was like no but I can actually
44:17sing and I was like yeah okay sure. No he can sing like. You'll be back. Time will tell.
44:26You'll remember I said well. He has so much confidence. It's so carefree. I love it. It's
44:33amazing. I wouldn't say either of us are shy. We're both high energy people. Both very
44:48chatty. Very like back and forth. Very
44:59He knows exactly what he wants but in such a nice and friendly and funny way. He's probably
45:03one of the nicest people I've ever met but like he just he just holds himself so well. I told you
45:09I'm a good singer. I thought you were lying. I thought you were lying. Absolutely amazing.
45:16Thank you so much. That was amazing. Laughing's a good sign. I didn't like
45:22catching like awkward uncomfortable moments. You seem to be like having a good time.
45:26Oh my god that was amazing. Oh my god.
45:36Thank you so much. You're welcome. Cheers. I say you're gonna be a perfect match.
45:42The whole story with the the whole sperm donor thing was good. Trying to help other people. I
45:47quite like that so that's actually really nice. That's kind of hot to be fair but
45:51I was trying to get him to pay for it all but he said no. Rightly so.
45:58He's real bubbly. Really easy to get along with. Good chats. Good banter. Yeah he's lovely.
46:05Would you guys like to see each other again? I don't know. I liked you but I don't know if
46:10it's romantic. It's more like friendship. I don't know. Yeah I'm kind of thinking the same thing.
46:15Okay that's good. Yeah we had really good chat and really good banter. Yeah. Yeah maybe not in
46:19a romantic level. Yeah. Yeah that's good. Thank god. I think we'd have a lot to get on with. Oh
46:27yeah yeah definitely. Do you want to go for a pint? Yeah we could do that yeah. I think I might
46:33just have a beer. What about you? I'm gonna have another Guinness like the Duke of Guinness. Yeah
46:37or another porn star martini.
46:39That was excellent. Thank you so much. Would you like to see each other again romantically?
46:50If you're gonna say no you have to go first. That way I have plausible demise.
46:54No you have to go first. You have to be a gentleman. Yeah sure I suppose I would yeah.
46:58You suppose you would or you would? I'm being like a middle.
47:02No I definitely would as well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
47:06That was so good. I had so much fun. It was a bit of a relief isn't it? I mean I knew you were
47:13gonna say yes. Did you? Yeah. No you didn't. You weren't sure. Yeah I'm always sure. I'm
47:19unflappable. I know everything. Do you fancy each other? Yeah. Yeah. After I sing and how could you
47:27not? Don't step on the cracks. You'll break your members back. Those are the rules. Should we have
47:31to get you to like do a musical? Oh of course. I want to see you wicked. Okay. So I'll do a musical.
47:37What would your duet song be do you think? Something from Greece. I was literally just
47:42about to say Greece.
48:04I don't know how you live without me now. I know exactly. I don't even remember. Exactly.
48:10It's very funny. Yeah I think the same. It's just his humor. Like I didn't stop laughing the whole time and you didn't eat.
48:34I know. No I can't have time to be talking about it. Exactly.
48:50I'm really like the devil in the sink.
48:53So you're a really small man. Oh god. Do you want to go on a date? No not yet. I'm a doctor. Oh cool.
49:01Did six fingers on bottoms this week. We can do a double wedding if you're all excited. I'm actually
49:06getting engaged tonight. Yeah. But I think that Taylor is the next coming of Jesus Christ. No.
