00:08the importance of the Philippine-UK Joint Framework Agreement was discussed, which is

00:47geopolitical times, challenges here in the South China Seas, but also the war in Ukraine,

01:02The Philippines and the UK are saying that China's aggressive action in the South China
01:09Sea is wrong.
01:10Because of our concerns about the aggressive behavior of China, we support each other and
01:18we in the UK have always been keen to support our Filipino friends.
01:23Lamy and DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo also discussed the possibility of a visiting forces
01:31agreement in the UK, such as the VFA of the Philippines and America, and RAA, or Reciprocal
01:38Access Agreement, in Japan.
01:40It's still a possibility, I think, to general talks, but nothing firm yet, but certainly
01:45that could be something in the horizon.
01:48They also strengthened some agreements for the economy.
01:52We are committed to maximize the potential of partnership with the United Kingdom on
01:57offshore wind farms in the country.
01:59Today, Secretary Lamy and I agreed to sustain cooperation on matters of mutual concern such
02:06as defense, security, human rights, maritime, and economic resilience.
02:12The Philippines is important because we have powerful people-to-people links.
02:31My daughter, back in going to school in London, her best friend's parents are from the Philippines.
02:38And of course, we have many, many Filipino families right across the country, many Filipino
02:44workers right across the country.
