00:07So while Portsmouth and the surrounding areas have got golf courses and driving
00:10range you've got to drive a little bit further afield to find a golf sim. That's
00:14why there's a lot of excitement recently when Pass Society announced that they'd be
00:17opening up in Portsmouth. Now I've not played golf in about two years and when
00:23I did play I wasn't very good but I've come down today to give the golf sim a
00:26go, play some of the famous courses that are available on their simulators and
00:31maybe just hopefully get a little few tips on how why I'm so terrible. Now I
00:36don't have a golf club with me, I don't have the golf shoes so that's the
00:40excuses in the back pocket. Let's see how I get on.
00:45So Sam, it's been a couple of weeks since we were here last, it looks a bit different now but you've opened up, how's it been?
00:51Yeah it's been great, we've had a great reception. First day we were fully booked and then
00:57every evening so far I've been fully booked and people have been loving it I think, a lot of
01:01good feedback, it's been great. So what kind of things can you do here?
01:04Yeah so you can play golf, practice, there's challenges, I'm running a weekly
01:09challenge too where you can win a free hour so we do it closest to the pin in
01:12Long Drive this week, it'll be slightly different next week but yeah you can
01:17play this, there's now 1,420 courses available, we have like 30 downloaded on
01:23each but yeah you can do all sorts. And we were kind of looking earlier, it's got
01:27like, it kind of shows you, it records your kind of your shot and shows you
01:32what your, so what kind of data does that show there? Yeah so you get I think it's
01:3740 points of data, I wouldn't be able to tell you what all of them are, I'm sure some
01:40people could, like ones that most people will probably understand is like your
01:44swing path, like the ball speed, distance, those kind of things, the spin on the
01:50ball, but yeah it goes, there's 40 points of data so if you really want to know
01:54what's wrong this will tell you.
01:56As expected I was a tad rusty but after I warmed up I hit some
02:01okay shots for me and managed to not break anything, which is a bonus, but it's
02:08really good fun, from playing famous courses to playing mini games or just
02:11taking shots at a driving range, there's lots to do, it also gives you lots of access to
02:15information to help with your game. Sam is welcoming, friendly and relaxed, it's
02:20far removed from some of the more pretentious places that may put people
02:23off golf. It was great to hit a few balls again and I'll be definitely coming back.
