00:00Are you feeling more and more confident with every game that passes?
00:03Yes, definitely, 100%.
00:06Like I said, it's difficult to come out of the team and bounce back from that,
00:11but I feel like I needed that break mentally for myself.
00:15That Pira game was horrible for me in terms of losing 5-1.
00:20Self-reflection, I always look at myself and think,
00:23what could I have done better?
00:25It's about working hard week in, week out.
00:29Confidence is massive in football, I would say,
00:32in terms of grinding out results.
00:35Keeping clean sheets away from home and good opposition,
00:38like to Barnsley, gives you a massive confidence boost.
00:43At the time when you do drop out of the team, what goes through your mind?
00:46You're on loan, you're out here to get more experience
00:48than you find yourself on the bench,
00:50so how difficult is that at the moment to deal with?
00:52I'm one of them who will work hard no matter what,
00:57whether I'm in the team or not in the team.
01:00I'll make sure everything that I've done in the week is leading up to a game,
01:04whether that's in the team or not in the team.
01:08Yes, it's difficult.
01:10I've been on two loans before this,
01:12and it was not plain sailing, but I was in the team.
01:17I knew I was going to play every week
01:20because I felt like I backed up the performances week in, week out.
01:24It's crucial, it's cutthroat at this level.
01:26I feel like I definitely needed that time off the team
01:29and a little mental reset, and then hit the ground running back again.
01:33I suppose it does make the reward greater now,
01:35the fact that you've started every league game since November,
01:38so that must be really pleasing to win that place back.
01:40Yes, definitely.
01:42Rich didn't give it up very easily.
01:44I thought he was top door when he came in,
01:46and that's credit to him.
01:47You look at him and he's probably frustrated that he's not playing every week.
01:52The mentality and the camaraderie around the group is different class.
01:56Once I've got back in, I've wanted to make sure I keep the spot
02:00and don't lose it again.
02:01I feel like that's shown in some of my performances.
02:04Stepping up from National League to League One,
02:06coming to the EFL, does it feel like being chucked in the deep end?
02:09At first, yes.
02:11I think it was a difficult jump,
02:15but I think, like he said before,
02:18playing every game gives you more and more confidence
02:20and the more games I've played,
02:21I feel like I've become more confident
02:23and it's shown in my performances.
02:25I want to prove that I'm capable of playing at this level
02:28and it's not a big jump for me
02:31and it's not at the deep end that I can stay afloat in this league.
02:34I feel like with performances recently of clean sheets that we've had,
02:39I feel like I've shown that.
02:42Has it been the best way to learn?
02:43Yes, 100 per cent.
02:45You can have very easy loans.
02:48I think the two loans before this were the same,
02:56I think, more than anything.
02:57But it's a massive learning curve.
02:59As I said, the thing about going on loan
03:02is dealing with the hard stuff and dealing with the good stuff.
03:04It's never getting too high when you're high,
03:06never getting too low when you're low.
03:07You've just got to learn from it and learn from your mistakes
03:10and keep trying to be positive.
03:12In the week, the gaffer mentioned he won't man you back next season.
03:15How flattering is it to hear that sort of faith from the manager?
03:18It's massive.
03:19A man with that experience is, I think, any young goalkeeper wants.
03:24And obviously hearing his words in the week,
03:26we're very happy for me and my family.
03:29Like the gaffer said, it's up to myself, it's up to Everton,
03:33it's up to the club.
03:35If all parties are happy with it, then I'm sure I might be back.
03:39It's one of them that we'll see what the summer brings.
03:42Hopefully, we can get up into the Championship, into the play-offs,
03:45because I feel like we're more than capable to do that.
03:47I think it's just about now, focus on each game as it comes
03:51and see what the future brings.
03:53Obviously, there's always moving factors,
03:54but it sounds like you would be open to coming back to Blackpool.
03:56Is that how much you've enjoyed yourself at the club so far?
03:58Yes, I've loved it.
03:59I've loved every single minute of it.
04:01Coming into the training ground every day and playing matches at some great stadiums at home.
04:07Our home stadium, I think, is one of the best in the league.
04:11I think it's a massive fan base, it's a massive club
04:13and it's one opportunity that I wouldn't have turned down if I had the chance.
04:17Just finally, is there plenty more to see from you this season?
04:19Is there plenty more levels to go up that you can demonstrate?
04:22Yes, I think I want to keep more clean sheets,
04:25make more big saves in games that keep us in games.
04:29There's been times where I've made mistakes
04:31and I can hold my hands up more than anyone and I'll be the first one to say that.
04:36But then I also feel like I need to keep the team in games sometimes
04:39and make some big saves when called upon.
04:42I feel like I need to keep knocking out performances
04:44and keeping as many clean sheets as we can until the end of the season.
