00:00Welcome to Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2025.
00:05This is the home to all things tech and mobile connectivity in Europe
00:09and gives us a glimpse into the future of our lives.
00:11Every technology revolution, from steam engines to digital,
00:16has been the driving force of human progress.
00:23AI has been the word on everybody's lips for the past few years,
00:27and 2025 is set to be the year it goes beyond our mobile phones and computers
00:31and opens up our world to new ways to plan our lives and be creative.
00:35Technology boundaries will be expanded if we can do the following things.
00:41Re-invent traditional smartphones with AI,
00:45revolutionize human-device interaction,
00:49and re-invent PCs, tablets and wearables with AI,
00:54achieving seamless connectivity.
00:59Everywhere you look this year, people are talking about agentic AI.
01:03That's when AI acts as an agent for us to perform a task from a simple prompt.
01:08So what we start seeing for the last two years is that the AI is becoming
01:12absolutely mandatory in all the mobile devices.
01:16There are a lot of things that are going to become more and more interesting
01:20in a sense that we're going to ease the work or reduce the number of clicks
01:24you start doing on your mobile phone.
01:26So I'm going to show you our AI agent and you can book a restaurant with just one sentence.
01:31I want to enjoy some local food nearby.
01:33Can you book me a restaurant for three people, 8 p.m. tonight?
01:38So right here we can see the AI agent is handling the task and everything is automatic.
01:44So the only thing left for us to do is just to click the reserve button and it's all done.
01:50Brilliant! Can I have a go?
01:52Can you book me a restaurant for five people at 8 p.m. today
01:57within a 15-minute drive from the conference center and with good vegetarian options?
02:02That's my dinner plan sorted. Let's see what it's like later on.
02:05Whilst agentic AI is going to help us on our mobile phones,
02:09other types of AI are going to start appearing across all sorts of devices.
02:13Some manufacturers, like Honor, hope to open up connectivity
02:17to allow all devices, no matter the brand, to talk to each other.
02:20I think for years we've all understood the value of open ecosystems,
02:24but that doesn't mean in a lot of cases people haven't been locked into one, right?
02:27You see this in devices all the time, right?
02:29I bought a new tablet in part because I could get a tablet from the same maker as my smartphone.
02:34They work well together.
02:36But when we broaden that ecosystem, I can get the best of the best innovation from multiple players
02:41and also potentially convince some people that maybe are outside my ecosystem to join mine.
02:47Now it's time to leave the Mobile World Congress ecosystem
02:50and see how the AI agented with my dinner reservation.
