00:00Today, we're always on the go, especially since more and more people are in a hybrid
00:03work arrangement than ever before.
00:05That likely means you're also lugging your laptop around, and experts are now saying
00:09it could actually be hurting you.
00:11Lead athletic trainer at Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine, Patrick Maloney, tells
00:14HuffPost, if you're carrying your laptop with one hand, especially if it's open and you're
00:18using it, that's a great way to get to Corvin syndrome, or what they describe as tendinitis
00:23in your wrist.
00:24Telling HuffPost, quote, if you're working for eight hours a day and you're in between
00:28meetings carrying your laptop around, that's a lot of steps that you're doing holding three
00:32or four pounds of levered weight on your wrist.
00:34Maloney recommends either using two hands, or better yet, tucking it under your arm like
00:38a book.
00:39However, you should also be persnickety when choosing a laptop bag, and be conscious of
00:43its weight as well.
00:44Experts with Saratoga Spine say a backpack is the best way to transport one of these
00:48devices, but if you have no other choice than a messenger-style bag, switch shoulders often.
00:53They also recommend never carrying more than 10% of your body weight, meaning if you weigh
00:57150 pounds, your bag should never weigh more than 15.
