00:00I mean, before I read those comments coming out of Moscow today, I was thinking to myself
00:04that President Trump's rapprochement with President Putin could arguably weaken President
00:11Putin, because this rallying cry against the West has been a fairly consistent pillar of
00:17Moscow's domestic messaging.
00:19And with that gone, I mean, couldn't there be a drop in public support for President
00:25Putin?
00:27Well, there could well be.
00:28And it may be that Moscow hasn't quite woken up to the disruptive force of what President
00:34Trump is doing.
00:37But we may be getting ahead of ourselves here.
00:39The negotiations haven't started yet.
00:41What the president is trying to do and is doing is getting both sides to the table.
00:46That is the only way that you can make a start on this.
00:50And I guess there's a long road ahead.
00:52It took two years to get a peace settlement agreed in Korea.
00:56It took three years to get a settlement in Vietnam.
00:59So between now and any possible ceasefire and then any final agreement on territory
01:05or sanctions and the release of Russian assets, there's a long, long way to go.
