00:00DAP's Chong Zemin has challenged MCA President Wee Ka Siong to a debate on the alleged losses

00:07incurred by the EPF in a privatisation deal involving an airport operator.

00:13In a statement, Chong said that Wee had in 10 videos claimed that EPF lost RM500 million

00:19in the Malaysia airport's holdings per HUD privatisation deal.

00:23The Kampa MP said that Wee had persisted with these claims despite him explaining otherwise.

00:29In February, Chong had said he was prepared to quit politics if Wee could prove that EPF

00:34had suffered financial losses.

00:36Last month, the Gateway Development Alliance achieved a 94.47% acceptance level for its

00:42takeover offer for all of MAHB's shares under its privatisation plan.

00:47Before the deal was sealed, critics argued that EPF incurred RM500 million in losses

00:53by selling MAHB shares at a lower price and buying them back at a higher rate, but Chong

00:58disputed this saying EPF would have profited.

01:02Earlier this month, Wee said Chong's motion to refer him to the Rights and Privileges

01:06Committee was rejected and urged Chong to honour his promise to quit politics.
