Transcript
00:00For me, making this film was like, not subject matter, but like the ensemble-ness, very for color girls, you know what I mean?
00:06It is our story, I want every woman of color, particularly, but you know, black women, to see themselves in one of these women, or parts of the story,
00:16and then to feel like, yes, I can. Yes, I can. Number one on my own call sheet.
00:22I came out because I wanted to really support Shola, I've been a big fan of hers, I've been a friend of hers for many years,
00:35and I believe in her artistry, and she's such a great director, and this is such a great and very important documentary.
00:41This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have a generational film, right?
00:46It was not, our actresses really, never again will so many black, will these black women be able to be in a film like this,
01:00and if there are interviews, it's truly something that will be able to be watched 30 years from now, 50 years from now, and be very meaningful.
01:09Oh my goodness, so many. Recently, Kerry Washington had one, just recently on Netflix, 6-888, it was so good, there were so many women in that,
01:21and strong black female lead, I mean, it was amazing. As well as, help me out again guys, Holly Berry as a boxer, love that movie.
01:31Knock Out? I think so, I love that movie. I mean, there's so many to name, but those are like a few of the most recent ones that I've really loved.
01:42Raise a Cane is season 4, out now. Honestly, it's the first production that I've been a part of with so many black people, so I feel right at home, you know what I mean?
01:52And kind of spoiled me in a way, because now I'm looking for that everywhere I go, and I know that's not the reality, but yeah man, it's beautiful.
02:00Shout out to the whole production team over there at Power and Raise a Cane.
