00:00First Quarter Nationwide Earthquake Drill was held today
00:05to prepare the earthquake like the Big One.
00:08This is Isaiah Merapentes live. Isaiah?
00:14As a preparation for any disaster or flood
00:17that may come to the country like the earthquake
00:20Today, the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill was held.
00:27Exactly at 3 o'clock this afternoon,
00:30the Earthquake Drills were held simultaneously
00:33in the whole country.
00:36Different government agencies, schools, and local government units were present.
00:42This is a part of the preparation for any disaster that may come to the country.
00:47One of the most worrying feelings in the Greater Manila Area
00:51is the 7.2 magnitude earthquake
00:53where 34,000 people may die if the earthquake, the Big One, happens in the country.
01:01The DSWD is sure that they are ready if there is an earthquake in the Philippines.
01:07They will do their best to ensure that all affected people
01:10will be provided with food and basic necessities.
01:15As of now, 2.5 million relief goods are ready in the whole country.
01:21The first solution in the preparation is not to duck, cover, and hold.
01:26The first step is to ensure everything.
01:29Again, we are talking to our colleagues in the local government units.
01:34They are the first ones that we are hoping to continue
01:40in providing building permit and occupancy permit.
01:46The People's Television Network is preparing for the nationwide simultaneous earthquake
01:51during this first quarter of the year.
01:53Aside from your country's TV,
01:55there are other attached agencies under the Presidential Communication Office
01:59such as the Apo Production Unit,
02:01Philippine Information Agency,
02:03Philippine News Agency,
02:05and Presidential Broadcast Service.
02:08To train people and to have practice to avoid the falling debris.
02:15For our awareness to avoid the circumstances of accidents.
02:25The government will remind us that our safety in any accident,
02:30such as an earthquake, will start with ourselves.
02:33That's why we need to make sure that the establishments we live in
02:38are in accordance with the quality standards.
02:42That's the update from Laguna.
02:44Back to you, Maan.
02:46The country is truly safe if the people are always ready.
02:50Thank you very much, Isaiah Mirafuentes.
