With house prices going up, would you be open to allowing your adult children and their family continue to live in your home?
Transcript
00:00I don't think they've got a lot of choice, to be brutally honest with you.
00:04I was looking in the estate agent's windows earlier, and lettings and sales, and it is
00:09massively expensive.
00:11You know, one-bedroom flats at, you know, ÂŁ1,000 a month, and more.
00:17You know, if you're starting out in life and you're working in the NHS and earning ÂŁ28,000
00:22a year, how can you afford to live?
00:24No choice.
00:25It's horrible.
00:26I was very lucky, I'm of the generation where we could buy a house, where it wasn't much
00:30more than paying rent, buying a mortgage, I'm of that lucky generation, if you like.
00:36But that doesn't mean we're all rich.
00:38I haven't come out of it with loads of money in the bank, you know, I'm still renting at
00:42my age now.
00:43So yeah, it's pretty awful that they have to stay with their parents and sit like this,
00:48who it is.
00:49If that was needed, obviously housing is expensive and difficult to come by.
00:54I can't imagine, personally, sort of not having a home, provided I had the space, to adult children.
