00:00First half was a bit of a scrappy game, not much happened, both teams sort of mullifying
00:14each other and second half, yeah we made some changes and managed to pick up some more spaces
00:20and opportunities and thankfully got the goal.
00:23Why did not much happen in the first half? Is it because you had the lead or you were
00:26waiting for them? As you say, not much happened, nothing happened.
00:30Yeah, maybe a bit of both from what you said. They've got 5-4-1, it's tough to break down
00:37any team, it's hard to break down. So then we made some additional adjustments in the
00:41second half and I feel like we got more plays and more spaces. I feel like that was a change
00:47important to the game.
00:48For you personally, how big is this competition this season in your first at Chelsea?
00:54Very big. I'm getting a good amount of games on in this competition, managing to get 90
01:00minutes on my belt and keep my fitness up. I want to win this tournament, it's as simple
01:05as that. I want to win some silverware. Any European competition, any footballer will
01:09tell you that it's a pleasure to play. It's about trying to help the team as much as possible
01:14when I get the opportunity.
01:15So normally I'd ask at this point, what's more important, the winning of the trophy
01:18or finishing top four? But because of the way Chelsea are, you can do both?
01:22Yeah, I mean, if you ask me one lie, I couldn't answer it. It's just about winning. This could
01:30be just one win and you've got the expectation to win. So the players know that now, the
01:34mentality is ingrained in us on the manager and I'm happy to lie, I think it's a good
01:40year for me and it's a good time.
01:41One last one, you've got a big game at the weekend before the international break against
01:44Arsenal. From the outside at this point, I'm asking you honestly, for you, do you think
01:49Liverpool have already won the title or do you think Arsenal are going to really give
01:52it a go because they still can't believe they're in it?
01:54It's never over until it's mathematically over. We've seen in previous years that teams
01:59can fall off but Liverpool have been great this year and all we're focused on is finishing
02:04as well as possible. We're still in the race for top four of course and we've got a big
02:09ten games to go and I'm fully confident the lads can deliver.
02:12And not just fourth, third or even second?
02:14A hundred percent. I mean, like I said, until it's mathematically possible that we can't
02:17get to that place, we'll keep fighting.
02:19You're a legend, aren't you mate?
02:21Good to see you, thank you so much.
02:23The run that you had today for that goal, it was absolutely insane. How did it feel
02:30to get through all of those players and actually score that goal in the Jackie Harding side
02:36again as well?
02:37Yeah, I've had a couple of decent goals in that end. I mean, it was nice. At the end
02:44I showed a bit of endeavour and managed to keep the ball and it's almost just a blur
02:48at that point. You go into instinct and like I've said before, I've practised that finish
02:53every day in training so when I'm in that position it's nice to actually pull it off
02:57in a game so it shows that the practice is helping.
03:00Yesterday we heard from Levi how Maraska's such a great gaffer and gives you... Oh, I
03:05can see you're freezing. I'll be really quick.
03:07No, no, it's good. You must be cold as well.
03:10How he's a great gaffer and how he really pushes you all to do your best and perform
03:15well. You've been with him the longest. How do you find bringing what he envisions into
03:20the match and are you helping coach the younger players who have come up and give them guiding
03:25hands, especially with Antoine who was out today with his debut?
03:29Yeah, a lot. I feel like I'm in a position where because I've been with the gaffer for
03:34longer I know the system pretty well so if there is ever any younger players or even
03:41senior players that think they need something in my opinion then I'll give it and I'm always
03:46there to help the lads and give advice. I'm just happy that he can trust me in the system
03:52and I can hopefully try and perform.
03:54It's great, well done today. Bye.
