Days after Ukraine agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire plan, Russian President Vladimir Putin has given his tentative support for the idea but appears to have many conditions that would need to be met.

00:10We agree with the proposals to stop hostilities, but we assume that this ceasefire should lead
00:23to a long-term peace and eliminate the initial causes of this crisis.
00:32Ukraine earlier this week agreed to a 30-day ceasefire deal brokered by U.S. President
00:37Donald Trump and his aides in Saudi Arabia.
00:40But Putin is still trying to keep the upper hand, saying he needs to discuss details with
00:45the U.S., raising questions as to whether he will actually accept a deal.
00:50And on the ground, skepticism, too, from
01:20ordinary Ukrainians.
01:22Some fearing that Putin will use any ceasefire to regroup Russian forces before attacking
01:27again.
