00:00UMNO's Supreme Council member, Puat Zarkashi, has accused DAP Vice-Chairman Theresa Kok
00:07of prioritising her political career over ethics following a controversy involving her
00:11former aide.
00:14In a Facebook post, Puat said Kok's failure to report the misconduct to the Malaysian
00:18Anti-Corruption Commission was driven by her desire to protect her political position.
00:24Kok had said she was concerned about her re-election prospects to the DAP Central Executive Committee
00:29following the probe into her former aides.
00:33The Seputuh MP told Malaysia Kini that many members could not accept it when she dismissed
00:38her aide for misappropriating her parliamentary allocation and now fears that she will be
00:43voted out by delegates who knew her former aide.
00:46Kok had previously said that she had been unfairly blamed by party members and the families
00:51of her former staff for the MACC's questioning of her two former officers.
00:57She defended her decision not to report the incident to MACC, arguing that firing the
01:02assistant was a sufficient response.
01:05MACC is investigating two of Kok's former officers, who are accused of soliciting and
01:10accepting a RM500,000 bribe to help approve an application for RM1.5 million in funding
01:17for the supply of interactive smartboards to several schools in Kuala Lumpur.
