00:00Thank you, Congressman Chiu.
00:04Welcome to the 10th Congressional District.
00:06I'm going to switch gears a bit and talk about the impact DOJ is having both in our community
00:11as well as AAPI communities.
00:13Right now, what's happening with DOJ is they are firing federal workers all across Virginia
00:19and all across the country, or they're putting freezes on critical spending.
00:23People know that.
00:24What you may not know is many of these businesses and many of these federal workers are actually
00:29did nothing wrong and actually do critical work that helps every single American.
00:34When you hear about an agency getting cut by 50%, just understand that those programs
00:40will not continue, and that will hurt every single American.
00:43It'll hurt their ability to get a good education.
00:46It'll hurt their ability to be safe and healthy.
00:49It'll hurt our military and our preparedness.
00:52Many of the businesses that serve our country are owned by AAPI entrepreneurs and people
00:58who have expertise.
01:01Many of the AAPI community here in Virginia are actually in fields that are in high demand,
01:06like IT and cybersecurity, fields that are so critical to our country in keeping us safe.
01:14It's not a surprise.
01:17Even one of the folks who's running DOJ wanted to normalize Indian hate, by his own words.
01:23We shouldn't be surprised by this, but we should step up and stop it.
01:27This doesn't have to be partisan.
01:28It shouldn't be partisan, but here at KPAC, I know we're committed to making sure that
01:33we protect Asian American business owners, especially the ones who serve our country
01:39and in many cases take less money to do really critical work for us and to keep us safe.
01:45With that, I'll open it up to Q&A.
