How Leeds United plan to replace departing chief executive Angus Kinnear
Transcript
00:00We've had confirmation now that Angus Kinnear, the Chief Executive of Leeds, will be leaving
00:10at the end of the season. Peter McCormick, who has previous roles with the Premier League,
00:16is coming in, or has come in, in some capacity. Graeme, can you tell us a little bit more
00:20about that, what the lay of the land is with the Chief Executive position at Leeds and
00:25whether there will be a replacement directly for Angus?
00:31I suspect there probably will be, but they're in a position where they feel like they've
00:36got time to really review the structure and what they want it to look like before they
00:40make a decision on whether or not to replace directly. McCormick is more of an advisor,
00:48more of a conciliary. He'll be stood at Parag Muratti's shoulder, whispering conspiratorially
00:55into his ear as Parag's enemies gather to meet around the table. He's obviously vastly
01:02experienced legal background, Leeds United background as well, has been a director, has
01:08been a chair of the FA and a chair of the Premier League and been on numerous panels,
01:14has expertise in FFP and owner and director's tests, things like that. Useful man to have
01:21around. I think I'm not wrong in saying he's advised Leeds on a couple of things in the
01:26past, in the not-so-distant past, and they've brought him in to kind of work alongside Angus
01:35for this period, this kind of transitionary period. And then Angus will head off to his
01:42new job at Everton and then Leeds will, in the summer I think, make their move as to
01:46whether they're going to replace like-for-like or whether they're going to appoint internally,
01:52which I could also see.
