00:00You know, Stallone has been named by the president the ambassador to Hollywood.
00:07I know you did Rambo 2 with him, and I wonder, do you think there's a problem?
00:12Do you think he could, there's some things that need to be fixed in Hollywood that he
00:16could...
00:17He certainly does.
00:18It's endless.
00:19You know, I mean, you know, the amount of movies that need to be reconstructed and everything
00:25is not so political and everything is more artistic.
00:29The kind of stuff we voted for years ago as Academy members are missing.
00:34And this year, I think, was the first time there's been a bunch of movies that have really
00:39been on the money, artistically very sound, and not with massive political statements.
00:48You know, that's not what the Academy was created for.
00:51Do you think Sly can really, like, help get that tightened up?
00:55Yeah, Sly's very funny.
00:57He and I go back to the same old German clockmaker, Kuno Spoonholz, who used to get jobs for Sly
01:05as an usher in the theater, and me, his job is Santa Claus in Abraham and Strauss.
01:10That's good.
01:11You know, we go back a long time.
01:12He's very creative.
01:13He's very funny.
01:14He knows what this town needs.
01:16He and I have talked, you know, about a month ago, and, you know, he's into it, and the
01:21other, and Jon Voight is great.
01:23I know Jon, and, you know, I really don't know Mel, but...
01:29Are they on the job?
01:30Like, are they, like, working things behind the scenes?
01:32Well, they're on the job because we've got to improve what's going on.
01:34There's not a lot of production going on in L.A. like they used to, and I don't really
01:39live there anymore, so I still like to come back and work, and this used to be a place
01:45where, my first year in Hollywood, I did three movies and eight TV shows.
01:51Wow.
01:52I had an emotional hold here for my creative life, you know, and the wonderful moments
01:58I had years ago.
