00:00But I'd like to ask you what your eureka moment was that told you that your calling wasn't
00:05in real estate, it was in politics.
00:07I've always had an interest in current affairs and politics, but I always said to myself,
00:13I come from a real estate family and I wanted to get stuck in, hopefully make some money
00:20and then if I had some time to give something back to society, to community, to the country
00:26in some way, then that was the plan and in a sense, all went very well.
00:30I ran a big multinational listed property company, listed on the London Stock Exchange.
00:37I ran that for four years, we tripled the share price and then along came the Brexit
00:44referendum and I guess that was my eureka moment where I felt there was a really important
00:51choice for the country.
00:52I had a very clear view that we should leave a bureaucratic sort of monster of a quango
01:03and be an independent sovereign nation, free to make its own decisions and to essentially
01:10sort of embrace the opportunities of the whole world without being sort of kowtowing to people
01:16in Brussels.
01:17So that was the eureka moment.
