00:00Imagine waking up thinking, it's raining outside, I could probably capture some water to flush my toilets.
00:10Welcome to Jackson, Mississippi.
00:12This is the process right now.
00:30This is 2021.
00:57We're the richest country in the world.
00:59We shouldn't have to be living in these kind of conditions.
01:05The city of Jackson has issued a citywide boil water alert as the freezing temperatures are now affecting water pressure.
01:12We can't take bails.
01:14We got to drive around town looking for water.
01:16The stores don't have water.
01:18We barely can get water.
01:20I mean, it's real hard.
01:26There's not enough attention being drawn to it.
01:48There are not enough people that have power talking about it.
01:51This needs to be a state of emergency right now.
01:56I don't think we should have given a date, but hopefully we'll have it by this weekend.
02:08It may be, you know, toward the end of the week before it gets resolved.
02:12My regiment now in the morning is waking up, filling my toilet bowl with water just so we can get the waste down.
02:20And we have to use one toilet so we can conserve the water.
02:23Can you imagine a family of five sharing one toilet, using the toilet on top of each other, and then flushing so we can save flushable water?
02:33It's disgusting.
02:35And it's appalling that we have to live in these conditions.
02:46This is like Flint, Michigan.
02:48You have people that have no choice.
02:50They have no access to resources, no access to getting the flushable water, no access to the bottled water.
02:56You have a lot of people that have been helping and giving stuff away, but some people just can't get to it.
03:03You have people that have to live in those conditions.
03:06This thing has totally just shut us down.
03:20We've had water outages before, boil water notices, but nothing of this magnitude.
03:24You shouldn't have to be living in these kind of conditions.
03:29So I'm asking you to spread the word, share, do whatever you can do.
