We may not have flying cars, but could a real-life hoverboard be in your Christmas stocking this year?
Transcript
00:00All of the technology that we're developing utilizes artificial intelligence.
00:23That's important for being able to improve driving.
00:27And the more data we gather, the more vehicles that we have on the road, the denser the network
00:31of vehicles in a concentrated area, the better the information is.
00:48I mean, the best thing for me was that first ride.
00:51Get in, sit down, and watch the steering wheel turn on its own, and you know, big grin on
00:56my face the entire time.
00:57Look at the safety driver.
00:58Realize they're not driving the car, the car is driving, and that's just the coolest thing
01:02in the world.
01:43And what's the point of the FlyBorder?
01:46The FlyBorder is a step, it's a step towards the future, I think.
01:52Just like Berlioz's plane, it had nothing to do with an A380, but it's a step, a step
01:58towards the future.
02:42We've done other experiments where we actually looked at how much realism is important, and
03:10it shows that what is important is not the visual quality, but just the way the virtual
03:16reality reacts to what you're doing.
