00:30Since the beginning, I saw police and Twitter together.
00:39I never thought that they could not co-exist.
00:42And being in Bombay always gave a lot of faith in the police department.
00:55I truly believe that a lot of things can be resolved by communication.
00:59And the biggest barrier between the police and citizens was their inhibition to communicate
01:04with people.
01:05What is it that keeps people away from police?
01:07Or why is it that they don't want to come to a police station?
01:10And the answer was the fear.
01:15I think one of our initial campaigns which really worked well was Hoshmaa, which was
01:21on drug addiction.
01:22And in which one of the tweets which said that, if you roll, we'll weed you out was
01:28a super hit.
01:29It went out from the commissioner's handle, and it was really drafted by the commissioner
01:33himself.
01:34We did something on, respect women, that had got a great response in the initial days.
01:41And there were tweets like, you know, a creepy message to her, can on you a date with us.
01:47There's a song, Tera peecha karun toh rokhne ka nahi, so we then put the section on stalking
01:54on what can be done.
02:00Inside that uniform is one very witty, well-read individual sitting with great sense of content.
02:07So most of my best campaigns I go to the police officers, and sometimes when they point out
02:11your spelling errors, and they point out your grammatical mistakes, it's super embarrassing.
02:15But thankfully, they're forgiving.
02:17And thankfully, spelling mistakes are not a criminal offense.
02:28There were three college girls who were traveling in a rickshaw, and there was a guy who came
02:33on a bike, and he flashed his private part to the girls.
02:36Her friend tweeted, immediately an order was released by the senior officers, who immediately
02:43told the police station that this cannot be tolerated, this can't be happening to the
02:46girls in Bombay, action has to be taken immediately, and they started a hunt for this fellow.
02:50The guy was caught within 24 hours.
02:53So responses are the spine of this entire exercise on Twitter.
02:57The fact that Mumbai police was there 24-7 online to respond to people really turned
03:02the game for us.
03:04So I think humor and the owning of responsibility that each and every question has to be answered
03:09is what did wonders.
