00:00More than 500 young archers from the Northern Luzon and National Capital Region
00:06were selected to participate in the 2025 Pinoy Arnis Tournament

00:21As usual, before a mall in Angeles, Pampanga opens every weekend,
00:27young archers from the Northern Luzon and Metro Manila gather
00:33to compete in our national game of Arnis.
00:38Arnis was once again selected in the 2025 Pinoy Arnis Tournament
00:42organized by the Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation or PECAF Northern Luzon
00:48led by Regional Director and Proactive Arnis Lead Founder, Joel Madrona.
00:53According to Madrona, this will serve as a preparation for young archers
00:58for their qualifiers in the 2025 Pinoy Arnis Tournament
01:02which will be held in Ilocos Norte from May 24 to June 2.
01:07Well, the result of our entries is very good.
01:12A lot of people joined us.
01:14We have almost 550 entries in different Northern Luzon and there's also from NCR.
01:21This is a big thing in preparation for the regional meet.
01:25This is part of their preparation and also for their skills.
01:33Because in other regional meets, they have more opponents.
01:37This is what they really need.
01:39The furthest delegation to compete in the Arnis Tournament
01:43came from Nueva Ecija.
01:46Among them are Melvin and Mervin Palos
01:50as well as the talented Bungabon, Naonica Edos
01:54and coaches John Nayud and Janice Mercado.
01:57All of them are eager to compete in the national tournament
02:00which is one of the most prestigious grassroots multi-sport events in the Philippines.
02:05Yes, this is a big help for us because this is where we learn
02:11the techniques that we need to counter the opponents.
02:19This will help us improve and not just practice.
02:25The kids are doing a good job.
02:27We hope that they will give us something.
02:31As a father and coach of my son,
02:34we will continue to discover and help the youth of Nueva Ecija and Palaya.
02:41This is a big help because this is just an exposure for me.
02:45I am used to giving my best.
02:48When I get there, I will be ready.

03:31in 2025, the 3rd PECAF Northern Luzon Arnis Tournament will be held from June 28 to 29.
