00:00If you are a resident of Karnataka, there's going to be a garbage tax now in the state
00:05So after in many ways the hike that we have seen in other issues, for example milk
00:12And other civic concerns now there's going to be a garbage tax in Karnataka
00:17Even before we are talking about tariff wars of Trump, Bengaluru will have to pay for the waste recycle
00:23Clearly a new tariff every day in many ways. There's been a hike in milk
00:27hike in water
00:28Hike in electricity prices now pay for the garbage collection. Now, this is specific to Bengaluru is what we are told right now
00:37But remember the question is yes Karnataka is facing a massive cash crunch
00:42And is is this the way to go? Let's try and understand. Sagai Raj is joining me from Bengaluru on this
00:49Sagai, what would be a garbage tax?
00:52Is it new for Bengaluru?
00:54What is it going to be? Because I'm wondering if a resident of a city of Bengaluru, which is anyway so expensive right now
01:00Comes in a tax on garbage also
01:04No, this particular decision was taken by the BBMP and this particular charges will be very miniscule if you notice
01:11But if you are having a plot of thousand two hundred square feet and if they are charging about
01:15400 rupees per year, so it will be divided within those
01:20Apartments for an example one house has to pay around 10 or 20 rupees for a garbage test for a year
01:25So this will be the calculated according to how this not according to the plot
01:29so the entire plot will be around here on 400 rupees or on thousand or 200 square feet all and
01:36For that, this will be divided within the apartment like how many houses are there and it will be calculated
01:41so this will not be as much as the prices of for say a moth where I or
01:47a milk price which has been increased so definitely it will be
01:53It will be charges for the property tax where the people have to pay
01:57This will be added for added money in the property tax
02:00but still it will not pinch as much as how it is going to hurt when you are buying a
02:06Milk or when you are paying your electricity bill where the charges are increased in Bengaluru
02:11All right
02:11Keep tracking all the latest on that and we'll try and get some views from the public as well about what do they have to?
02:16Say about these constant hikes that are happening in different sectors in Bengaluru specifically
