00:00Now, Cardiff City's fight for championship survival is entering a crucial phase, with
00:09every point vital in their battle against a drop. The pressure is mounting and consistency
00:14will be key if they are to avoid relegation. We discussed the current situation. Taking
00:19a look at the team's struggles, key fixtures ahead and what needs to change. While there's
00:24still belief within the squad, results must improve and fast. With rivals also scrapping
00:30for safety, the margin for error is small. Cardiff's ambition is clear to stay in the
00:35championship. Now it's about holding their nerve and delivering when it matters most.
00:41Well, Charles, things for Cardiff City are still looking quite precarious, I think it's
00:46fair to say. Seven games left, only two points above the championship relegation zone. It
00:53is getting very, very tight. And I'm sure many Cardiff City supporters at the moment
00:58are pretty worried. They'll be dreading what's to come. Obviously, it could all turn out
01:04very well for them. They could survive the drop. But at the moment, it's just the unknown.
01:09Not knowing sort of how well they're going to play in these last seven games, as I say,
01:14with not really any buffer because it's not even one win ahead of the opposition below
01:19them. So really difficult times for Cardiff City. So in these final seven games, if we
01:26perhaps go through them, what is their running like in terms of opposition? And with that
01:31being said, do you see them staying up? Or do you see them succumbing to the teams around
01:37them and ultimately returning to League One after a few years away from it?
01:43Yeah, I think the running isn't the worst looking running. They only play a couple of
01:49sides, two or three sides in the top half of the table in terms of their games. They're
01:57QPR away, Preston away, then Stoke City at home, then Sheffield United away. So it is
02:03quite a tough running. I mean, if you look at where they've gone wrong this season, I
02:06think away form has been absolutely abysmal. They've only picked up two wins in the league
02:12on the road this season. They've obviously had that good run in the FA Cup where they
02:16got a few good results away from home there. But in the league, it's been absolutely abysmal
02:20away from home, only two wins all season. And they've got four away games to come. I
02:28mean, that's massive. But then you look at the home games, they've got Stoke City, Oxford,
02:34West Brom. Those are three games where you look at them and you think West Brom are a
02:41bit stale under Tony Mowbray, but you don't know what they're going to be playing for.
02:45Will they be secure in the playoffs by the time they meet at the end of April? Oxford
02:49United have had a bit of a surge, getting important wins. They've moved away from the
02:53relegation fight, but it's still all to play for down there. I mean, it's only five points
02:58between 21st and 15th in the division, which is just as close as obviously the playoff
03:04race as well. Five points in the championship is absolutely nothing and seven games. It
03:10could just be a case of time running out for Cardiff City to get it right. They go to QPR,
03:16a team who've really struggled. They're a team with five points ahead of them. They're
03:23in terrible form at the moment, their last win coming back in February. It's a chance
03:30to Cardiff to go there. If they do get three points there, it's become that bad and that
03:36poor. When you're down there, you are just relying on the teams around you. As I say,
03:40Oxford, Stoke, Hull City, those are three teams lingering around them, but they have
03:45picked up the odd brilliant result. Cardiff City, if you look at their last win, Blackburn
03:50away, obviously their second win all season on the road. It's a massive win and Yusuf
03:55Salah again in the goals. I mean, a huge boost for Emery's side. But then before that, losing
04:02at home, two loose in town, could certainly be in it. They need at least, you'd say on
04:08average, two points in those games. A point a game, you think maybe gives them a chance.
04:15But then they go, host Stoke City at home on the 12th of April. That's the biggest game
04:20in this running for me, because then they go away to Sheffield United, looking to go
04:25up. Then they host Oxford and West Brom back-to-back. So that's a four-week running. If you can
04:31get six or seven points from those games, I mean the home form has been the only saving
04:36grace this season. They need to make sure that those are wins or points at least to
04:42remain in the Championship.
