The couple eventually managed to get off the scooter, but the chaos didn’t end there - the scooter suddenly roared back to life, forcing Harvey to wrestle with it.
Dad Simon Wickham, 50, from Watford, Hertfordshire, said: "The throttle on the scooter failed and it went full throttle.
"Both wheels are powered so he had trouble stopping it until he could turn the key off."
